"Did you think that was all I had?" Zeus exclaimed, his voice filled with expectations. This was the technique that he used only twice in his life, and he hadn't even managed to draw out its fullest potential. All for one reason - it was too destructive.
He focused his chakra, feeling it surge through his veins, and channeled it into his palms. The crackling of electrical energy intensified, illuminating his hands with a flash of intense brilliance. Then, Zeus connected both of his palms, closing his eyes and concentrating. He pushed every little speck of his power into the creation of his jutsu.
Eventually, Zeus parted his hands. In the middle of his palm, there was one little orb the size of his finger. Despite being so minuscule, it gave off a strange, intimidating sensation. It almost seemed alive, pulsating with vigorous power.
Zeus's smiled. It was powerful.
Shukaku, on the other hand, didn't feel that joyful. He stood there, in the same spot, looking at the ball in Zeus's hands. For the first time since ever, fear clouded his mind. Shukaku barely contained the urge to run away, as he instead plunged forward like a comet, wanting to disrupt the technique of his enemy.
Sand rose into the air, flowing towards Zeus like a tsunami.
However, it was all too late.
"Behold the power of my creation," Zeus said, lifting the electrified orb to his lips and swallowing it throughout. Zeus's eyes gleamed dangerously, as he felt the orb's potent charge course through his body, melding with his essence.
The energy surged within him, vibrating in harmony with his very being. Zeus exerted meticulous control, controlling that explosive power similarly to how he did back in Orochimaru's laboratory. Circling it within his stomach a few more times, Zeus controlled that violent energy to move back to his mouth.
Excitement rushed through his veins as the sand tsunami moved closer and closer, as he slowly started opening his mouth. Pulling his body back, Zeus parted his lips. "Drakon's Annihilation!"
A blinding flash illuminated the surroundings as Zeus unleashed the stored energy from within. From his mouth, a laser-like beam of crackling lightning shot forth, propelled by his precise control. The electric discharge sliced through the air with incredible speed, leaving a trail of scintillating brilliance in its wake.
It collided with the sand tsunami, completely ignoring it in its path, passing through without any hindrance. The laser of lightning surged toward Shukaku, who wasn't able to even react to the approaching ordeal. The laser moved with calculated grace, arcing through the battlefield with unyielding determination. The sheer power of the attack resonated in the crackling roar that echoed through the air, a symphony of thunderous force.
Finally, the laser of lightning made contact with its target and a cataclysmic explosion of electrical energy erupted, engulfing the surroundings in a dazzling display. The unleashed power crackled and danced, enveloping the enemy in an electrified tempest. The sheer intensity of Zeus's technique overwhelmed all defenses, leaving Shukaku vulnerable to the unrelenting assault.
There was no violent shout of pain or resistance. Everything happened and ended in an instant, leaving not even a sign of Shukaku ever being there. The aftermath of his attack lay before his eyes.
It was complete devastation. The entire vicinity was scorched with fire, leaving deep craters in the ground that stretched out as far as an eye could see. The air hung heavy with the scent of ozone, a testament to the cataclysmic release of electrical energy that had coursed through the area.
Zeus stood amidst the electrified aftermath, a sense of satisfaction coursing through his veins. He took a deep breath in, feeling the little amount of chakra left. This was the strongest technique in his current arsenal, and Zeus had to say that it was incredibly powerful.
Actually, now that he thought about it, this technique was too frightening. Had he become too powerful again? No matter how much he thought, Zeus didn't think it was possible to counter this attack unless he was disturbed while doing it.
Peering through his sage-mode eyes, Zeus's gaze pierced through the veil of reality, allowing him to see far beyond the limitations of ordinary perception. Within the smoldering crater created by his jutsu, Gaara lay wounded, his left side seared by deep burns. Though not immediately life-threatening, Zeus understood that the teenager would die unless treated promptly.
Zeus's voice resonated with a mix of frustration and intrigue. "Still, it is quite interesting that he managed to survive," he muttered to himself. The sight of Gaara reminded Zeus of the cowardly manner in which Shukaku had hidden within the young boy's form. Just when Zeus's attack was about to collide with the monster, Shukaku sealed himself back inside, not forgetting to push all the sand to protect Gaara.
It was a desperate move, but it worked.
Before turning his attention back to Gaara, Zeus shifted his gaze southward, looking toward a specific location. In an instant, he vanished from his previous spot, reappearing moments later with an eye clutched in his hand. He held it aloft, facing him, his expression now serious and devoid of the earlier cheer.
Addressing the absent Kazekage, Zeus's voice carried a weight of disappointment and disdain. "You know, Kazekage, I despise cowards even more than betrayal. You shielded yourself behind your own son, lurking in the shadows like a rat." Zeus's frown deepened, darkness overshadowing his typically jovial demeanor. "Come out and face me now."
But the silence that followed his words spoke volumes, revealing more than any response could convey. The absence of a confrontation only confirmed the truth Zeus had suspected.
"To think that someone like you leads an entire village," Zeus remarked, his palm tightening its grip around the eye until it shattered under his fingers. "No wonder half the people of your village are left to suffer and starve."
With resolution burning in his eyes, Zeus activated Overlock, surging forward with incredible speed through the sand. He closed in on the cave where he had been initially transported, where Rasa stood with a perturbed expression, unable to escape due to the vast difference in their speeds.
"What kind of monstrous being are you?" Rasa's voice trembled as he crumbled to his knees, his body drained and devoid of chakra from their previous encounter. He did not attempt to resist Zeus, having witnessed the devastating aftermath of his previous attack. "You can't kill me. Without me, countless lives in the village will be doomed."
"They have been doomed ever since you assumed the mantle of Kazekage," Zeus retorted, his voice devoid of sympathy for the man before him. As Chidori surged from his hand, he rushed forward like a speeding bullet. "I hope Hade deals with you justly."
Zeus's hand pierced through Rasa's heart, a torrent of blood drenching his entire body. The golden sand that had gathered around Rasa's feet fell back to the ground, their purpose served. Despite Rasa's feeble resistance, his struggles proved futile. Fate, under Zeus's command, was an inescapable force.
A moment of silence enveloped the scene as Zeus stood amidst the aftermath of his actions. It had been a while since he had engaged in a true battle, and a sense of satisfaction coursed through his veins. Yet, there remained one unfinished business that demanded his attention. Returning to the former battlefield, Zeus's gaze settled upon Gaara, still lying there, vulnerable.
Activating Chidori once more, Zeus drew closer to the teenager, casting a shadow over him like a harbinger of death. His hand crackled with lightning, poised for the final strike. But as rain cascaded from the sky, landing upon his hair, an inexplicable sensation washed over Zeus. It felt as though the heavens themselves wept.
Zeus let out a heavy sigh, deactivating his jutsu, his hand lowering slowly.
Raindrops plummeted on top of his cheeks, and a peculiar feeling settled within him.
Stretching out his hand, Zeus stared at the Sky, his lost-lost friend. What would it say right now, if it was still under Zeus's rule? However, silence greeted him once again. Zeus's gaze shifted back to Gaara, a reflection of his own bitter past. The suffering and torment endured by the young shinobi resonated deeply within him, making it feel like a sin to extinguish Gaara's life.
Sighing once again, Zeus grabbed Gaara, and put him over his shoulder. Then, he started walking away, periodically glancing above, thinking of ways how to become the King of the Sky once again.
