Chapter 4

Misty paused at her spot, not knowing what to do. After gathering her bravery, she put on her hood and start following Kyan. She follows Kyan, slowly and keeps a distance, not wanting him to hear her footsteps, but there's something weird, weirdly there's no sound or any footsteps on the snow when Kyan walks, this is so weird. Misty keeps on following him, and suddenly he stopped walking, Misty immediately hides in the bushes, Kyan looks to the right and left, and walks over to the wall, a wall that separated the kingdom territory and the world. Misty looked confused, what is he doing at a place like that? She looks at him closely and suddenly the wall in front of him opened into a door. Misty is surprised, what kind of illusion is this?! Kyan steps into the door and disappears into the wall.

Misty gets out of her hiding spot and went to the wall. If you look closely, you'll see the outline of the door on the wall. Misty tries to push it open but the door won't move, Misty then tries pulling it but nothing happens, she sighs and tries to look for another way to open it. She's rubbing the side of the wall with her hand and realizes a brick that looks weird, she pushes the brick and the door opened. Misty smiled with satisfaction and stepped inside, as she stepped inside, she can hear the door behind her closing again. Misty is now in a dark and narrow alley, she can see some puddles on the soggy ground underneath her feet, and she can also see some spider webs on the ceiling.

She grabs the torch beside her and starts walking through the alley, the deeper she walks, the colder it gets, Misty started to shiver a little but keeps on walking, until the path in front of her split into two paths. "oh, great!" Misty said with annoyance, which path did Kyan choose?! Misty asked herself. Suddenly the torch Misty is holding went off, and for a moment everything is pitch black when suddenly, Misty saw a blue light coming out of one of the paths, she approach the light and saw a Skiter! It's the Skiter she saw last night, the Skiter that has red eyes.

The Skiter in front of her is just staring at her with its two red eyes, Misty thought that the Skiter is just going to run away again like last night so she decided to continue walking. But before she can take a step, she can hear a voice, "Follow me" the voice said. It's a boy's voice, the voice is deep but not very deep, the voice sounds a little familiar to her, but why can't she remember it? Right when the voice disappears, the Skiter starts to walk away with Misty following behind it. The Skiter looks behind every few minutes, making sure Misty is still following, and Misty who doesn't even know where to go, didn't dare to leave the Skiter.

After a few minutes, of walking, Misty can see the end of the alley and they finally arrive at the end of the alley. It feels great to finally feel some fresh air again, "thank you for your help" Misty said to the Skiter, but the Skiter is already gone. Misty just sigh and wonder around, she believes that she was outside the kingdom now. The road underneath her feet is covered in snow, and the buildings around her are not as clean as those in Nuca topia, she looks around the place and realizes that this place is just like the market last night. The buildings, the stray cats and dogs, the string lights that are hanging from pole to pole, she is lost at that time, and the dark and narrow alley is as cold as the path she use to come here, and it's the same path that Kyan and she use to come back.

As Misty is looking around the place, she saw some footsteps in the snow, could it be Kyan's?! Misty thought, Misty then follow the footstep and found herself in a strange place. She can hear someone talking not far from there, she immediately hides in one of the bushes and peek through the branches. She barely can see them but she can see the three figures with cat ears and... King Henry?! Misty look closely and saw King Henry talking with some Kilyters.

"I told you guys to immediately find that creature!!" Misty can hear King Henry shouting at the Kilyters.

"But sir! We've been searching for barely a hundred years and yet we haven't found it yet" Answered a Kilyter who seems to be their leader.

"then search it again! I want the whole forest to be searched!" King Henry shouted back and left.

Misty is now confused, Kilyters are seen as holy and honored creatures, why does King Henry being so mean to them? She thought. Suddenly one of the Kilyter looks like he found something.

"Sis," the Kilyter said.

"What is it now Booba? Don't you see that I'm busy right now?!" Answered the Kilyter who's the leader.

"Ivy, I smell something," said the Kilyter named Booba.

"oh! What is it?" their leader who's named Ivy asked, as soon as she asked, the taller Kilyter immediately sniffs the air.

"It's a Skiter... but there's a faint human smell" the taller Kilyter answered.

"Thank you Jack" Ivy answered.

Misty gasped, surprised that her hiding spot is founded, but then she realizes, did he just say a Skiter? But she doesn't see any Skiter around here. Suddenly she can feel some soft paws touching her hand, she looks to the side of her and saw the Skiter she meet in the cold alley, the one that helped her. The Skiter signaled her to follow with its tail, and Misty without hesitation followed the Skiter, slowly and quietly they walk away from the Kilyter, thankfully the Kilyter didn't realize they were there.

They then arrived back at the main street, Misty look back at the Skiter surprised that the Skiter is not gone now. "thankfully those Kilyter doesn't catch us" the voice that Misty hear in the alley talk again to her, "who are you" Misty asked to the voice, "what?! You're still asking who I am? I'm right in front of you right now" said the voice, and Misty look at the Skiter who's in front of her, "oh" Misty answered.

"We don't have much time, follow me," said the voice again or the Skiter, the Skiter then start walking, and Misty is following him right behind. Misty don't know where is this Skiter bringing her, but she trusted him. A few minutes later, they finally arrived at an old bookstore, the outside of the bookstore is pretty dirty, and the display window is a little dusty. The Skiter gets in through the half-opened door, and Misty is following him at the back. When Misty gets in, she's surprised by the place. There are so many books, she had never seen this many books in her life, some of the books were stacking up to the ceiling, making a pillar of books and even tho the shelf are dusty, the books are as good as new with no scratches.

At the center of the book, there's a reception desk covered with so many books, that Skiter leads her to the desk before jumping to one of the stacks of books and lying there. Misty looked over at the table and saw a middle-aged man writing something on a piece of paper, the man has brown curly hair and wearing a pair of glasses, he looks like in his 20th.

"Hello?" asked Misty, the man then looked at her, he have a pair of emerald eyes and he looks a little surprised when he saw Misty, "oh my... I can't believe you're here," the man said, making Misty a sounds a little confused, "oh, I'm sorry, do you need any help?" asked there's a hint of joy in his voice, "no, that cat brings me here" Misty pointed at the top of the stack of books, but the Skiter had disappeared. The man looks closely at the top of the stack and looks confused but then as if he understands everything he looks back at Misty.

"so your friend bring you here?" asked the man, "yes," answered Misty, "follow me then, looks like the time had come," the man said before walking into one of the bookshelves. Misty followed him, she's so confused. The man grabbed a red-covered book with no title from the shelves and give it to Misty. "Here, with the help of your friend, you can read this book," said the man, Misty is getting more confused, she opened the book, but instead of long and boring letters, she only saw a blank paper with nothing in it.

Misty was about to open her mouth and asked the man but before she can talk, the man pointed to the window, "Oh, look, it's getting late, you better get back home before your parents start to get worried, and you can take the book" said the man to Misty, "oh! You're right sir, I'll go now then, see you later!" Said Misty as she stepped outside the store and left, while the man is just watching her go from the door, "they grow so fast" the man said before heading back inside the store and closing the door.
