Chapter 5

Misty is laying on her bed, the moon is shining brightly in the starry night sky. She can't sleep, there are so many questions and thoughts in her head. The Skiter she met can see in the dark and can disappear suddenly, just like... Kyan. Now that she starts to think of it, Kyan can also see in the dark, he also has very good hearings and bad luck! When Kyan tries to hit her with a snowball, it went right past her, that count as bad luck... right?

Now that she thinks of it, Kyan is a little weird... could it be that he's a Skiter? But there's no proof that he's a Skiter! Now Misty is confused, she then closes her eyes and decided to go to sleep.

The sun is shining bright, and the warmth of it melted some of the snow. It's time for Misty to go back to school, she'll meet Kyan if she goes to school, and then she can ask him. Misty quickly goes downstairs and eats her breakfast, she said goodbye to her parents and immediately goes to school.

She ran to school and immediately went to her class, but when she arrived, Kyan was nowhere to be seen. She put her bag down at her table and went to Kyans table, but the table is as dusty as always as if it haven't been touched for years. A few minutes later, the bell rings, and class starts, but Kyan hasn't arrived yet.

Misty started to get a little worried, where did Kyan go? When its break time, Misty went to one of her classmates and asked, "Hey... do you know where Kyan is?" she asked, but her classmate just give her a confused look, "Kyan? Who's that?" her classmate asked.

Misty didn't expect that answer, "oh, it's nothing" she said immediately and sit back in her chair. This is getting stranger and stranger, she can see Kyan, why can't they see Kyan? Something weird is happening, and she must find out about it. An idea then gets into her head, maybe if she goes back to that market tonight, she'll meet Kyan again!

Night time had come, Misty finish her dinner as fast as she can, and went to bed or pretend to go to bed. After making sure her parents already go to sleep, she immediately grabs her cloak and bag, then sneaks out again. She opens the front door slowly and steps outside to the night, she takes a deep breath and continues her journey.

She walk fast but quietly on the dark road of Nucatopia Kingdom and arrived at the wall again. She pressed the brick and the door opened, she stared at the dark alley for a few minutes, rethinking her decision. The alley seems darker and colder than before, and right now, her Skiter friend is not here to help her.

She takes a deep breath and gathers her bravery, takes a step into the alley, and disappears into the wall. This time, she came prepared, she grab a match from her bag and turn on the torch beside her, she grabs the torch and walks into the darkness. She walks for a few minutes and doesn't forget to take the right turn and finally arrives at the market again.

The place is as crowded as always, many people are busy buying things. Misty then start searching for Kyan, she searched everywhere, at the alleyways, in every shop, and at every turn. But Kyan is nowhere to be seen. Misty sighed in disappointment, she started to give up, until she saw the big hairy man that chase them, standing in front of a bakery, that looks like it was his bakery. Misty went closer to him, "hello there sir" she said politely. The man looks at her with two warm eyes and a smile on his face, "Hello there miss, hmmm aint you the girl that runs away with Kyan?" the man asked when Misty heard the name Kyan, there was a little spark of hope inside of her.

"yes sir! Do you know where Kyan is? I haven't seen him today, I'm getting worried" she asked, the man look at her for a moment and start thinking, "Now that you mention it, I haven't seen him today" answered the man, "oh... okay then," said Misty, a little disappointed. "But I do hear from one of my customers that he's going to the forest," he said, "you know, the forbidden forest, the one that surrounded the kingdom" he continued, Misty then smiled again, there's a chance that Kyan is there, "thank you sir! And I'm sorry that Kyan stole some of your bread" she thanked and apologize the man, "Its okay miss, Kyan is a little trouble maker here but in a good way, he's pretty famous amongst the kid and the adults," said the man.

Misty just nodded and then says goodbye to the man. She starts walking to the forest and asks for the way to some people. It's almost midnight and the full moon is shining brightly and Misty is getting closer to the Forest. The closer Misty gets to the forest, the fewer people pass by the street, and when Misty arrives in front of the forest, Misty saw no one else there else than her.

Misty started to rethink her decision but he decided to get in anyway, but before she can take a step into the forest, something from the bushes show up, and it was the Skiter. "well, well... look who's here" Misty said, a little annoyed, but the Skiter didn't say a thing, "hey! Don't ignore me, I know you can talk, answer me!" Misty said angrily, but the Skiter say nothing. The Skiter just stands there in front of her and without a warning, the Skiter grabbed Misty's bag and runs away into the forest.

"hey!!" shouted Misty, she then followed the Skiter into the forest, the Skiter is far in front of her, so she run faster and tried to keep up with the Skiter. They went deeper into the forest but then Misty lost track of the Skiter. "That little thief! Where did he go?!" Misty said angrily and realizes that she was lost, "great, no I'm lost... again" she said, feeling annoyed.

She was about to continue her journey to find Kyan when the bushes beside her moved. She froze and look at the bushes, "Oh... what did I find here?" a voice coming from the bushes, it was not Kyan's voice or even the Skiter's voice, the voice is way deeper and scarier. "What is a beautiful little human like you doing here?" the voice asked, but Misty didn't answer at all, she's so scared right now. And from the bushes, a werewolf shows up, revealing its pointy teeth, "what's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" the werewolf laughs at his joke. And without any warning, the werewolf sprung at Misty, ready to attack. Misty closed her eyes, waiting for pointy sharp claws to hit her, but instead, she can feel someone pushing her away.

Her head hit the tree and blood started to pour down, her vision is getting a little fuzzy but she can hear the voice of the werewolf, "S-sir! W-why are you saving this human?!" she can hear the werewolf say in fear, "My job is to protect humans and yet you're here, trying to attack one" said her savior with a cold voice, its a boy sound and it sounds familiar, but she can't remember who, she looks at the person and see that the werewolf is already escaping from them, she looks up and see a boy, with hair as white as the snow and two pair of cat ears and tails, its a Skiter. The Skiter turn around and hold her, "it's okay, you're safe now" the Skiter said with a soft and kind voice, Misty can see a pair of beautiful blue eyes, those eyes look familiar but who? Why can't she remember? Misty want to say thank you, but before she can do that, everything went black and she went unconscious.
