My New Companions, a Disembodied Voice and a Cat girl

[Rebecca's POV]

*gasp*

"Holy shet! Where am I?! What happened?!" I panickily said while frantically looks around.

From the looks of it, I seem to be broken out from my restraints and I am in the middle of the room. This made me relieved and anxious at the same time.

The reason being is that I woke up from another terrible nightmare. However, unlike the previous one, this one is a lot worse and questionable than before.

I don't really want to think about it to avoid scarring my mind with the "unusual" activities happened in that dream.

Thinking about makes me feel... urgh, nope! nope! nope! Absolutely NOPE!

"Let's get a move on before I lose my mi- WAH!"

*thud*

I suddenly trip on something when I took a step forward. I then look at the thing that tripped me and was shock to see the nobleman covered with blood on his clothes. Next to him is a shattered object that seems to be a syringe and there is blood spilled all over the floor.

'What the hell happened here? Did I do all of this or someone else came to beat this man up? Could it be onii-chan? Wait, no. If Onii-chan saved me from this noble, then he would have carried me out of this place by now. Huh, weird'

I then inspect the blood covered man. He seems out cold for some reason and he's not waking up anytime soon.

'Should I wake him up or...'

'(No, don't. It's not worth it to wake him up)'

"Wait, what?! Who said that?"

'(It's me, now get out of there. The thug is coming)'

"What do you mean by tha.."

'(I SAID GET OUT OF THERE)'

"O-okay"

I complied to the voice in my head and promptly went to the door of the room.

*creak*

""Ah""

'(Oh shit...)'

When I was about to reach the door knob, the door opens on its own and a blond thug showed up on the other side of the room.

He looks at me quizzically and moves his sight to the man on the floor. He was shocked upon seeing the noble and quickly locks his sight back to me.

"You! Did you kill him, brat?!" the thug questions me angrily, which made me back away.

"Uuuh..."

'Hey, voice in my head. What should I do?'

'(I don't know. Play dumb or something)'

"Um, who is brat?"

'(Not that dumb, you idiot)'

The blond thug was annoyed by my answer and put his hand at the sword behind his back.

'(Rebecca, move back)'

I complied and backs away several steps from the thug. Now that our distance is far from each other.

'(Now unsheathe your sword and assume battle stance)'

'Eh? But my sword is at the corn-'

'(It's at your back, dumbass. Now, unsheathe it)'

'Huh? When did my sword get here? Did you do th-'

'(No time to explain, you idio.. Ah, look out!)'

"Huh?" I then look ahead and saw the blond thug lunging towards with his sword about to strike me.

"AAAAARRRRGHHH!" The blonde thug swings his sword at me.

"Wah!"

I was startled when I saw the thug attacking and I stumble backwards because of that.

'(Oh, for the love of Lap- Give me the body)'

*Ba dump*

'Guh'

My vision momentarily blurred and my body moved on its own as my hand raise towards blonde thug.

Then the blonde thug was then suddenly blown away by some sort of telekinetic attack and hit the wall.

'So cool'

*Ba dump*

'(There, now draw your sword)'

'U-understood'

I unsheathe my sword and assume a battle stance.

The blond thug recovered from being blown away and gets up on his feet.

'This thug seems strong, but how strong is he?'

'(From what I can tell, that human is a north saint swordsman. So, be careful, Rebecca)'

'O-okay'

I focused my battle aura to cover my whole body and I then released my bloodlust in order to use my Night Sky sword's ability.

However, the thug seems unbothered from being hit by my bloodlust and his energy wasn't siphoned.

'Eh? Why is he unaffected by my bloodlust?'

'(Your bloodlust is not strong enough to use your sword's ability on him. Doing that will do nothing for that human)'

'Shet, what now? I can't fight this strong enemy if don't drain his energy'

'(Don't be such sissy, kiddo. Just use your swordsmanship to defeat him.)'

'I see now. Thanks, whoever you are'

'(Hmph, it's only natural, kiddo)'

'Natural? What do you mean?'

'(No time talking, here he comes)'

The thug dashed towards me and threw two knives at my direction.

*whoosh*

I then parried the knives with water god style.

*clang* *clang*

'(Look out, behind you)'

"!!" I quickly turned around and saw the thug swinging his sword horizontally.

"RAAAGH!"

*whoosh*

I then change my stance and crouch down to avoid the sword slash.

After that, I sweep kick the thug, making him lose his balance.

Seeing him fallen over, I take that opportunity to strike him down.

"Got you now!"

*whoosh*

*Clang*

I swing down my sword at him, but before my blade reaches him, he blocked my sword.

"What the?!" I was shock, not because he blocked my attack, rather his stance is weird.

He is currently bending his body in an unusual degree while blocking my attack.

"Do you think I will be defeated by a brat like you?"

"Seriously, who is brat? My name is Rebecca, okay"

'(I don't think that was necessary)'

'Hush, voice in my head. Rebecca is speaking to the blonde one'

'(Urgh...)'

The voice groans in annoyance, which I found amusing and focused on the matter at hand.

I lock eyes with the thug but saw then him took out something with his other hand. It's another knife and thrust the knife towards me.

"!!"

I back away from the thug, avoiding the strike from the knife on his off-hand.

"You're quite fast for a brat like you"

"I said my name is Rebec-"

'(If you think this joke will be funny the third time, you're gravely mistaken)'

'What are you talking about~?'

'(I can clearly hear from the tone of your voice that you are joking!!)'

'Hmph, can't I at least have some fun here'

'(If your definition of fun is committing suicide over some stupid joke, then have it your way. I don't care if you bleed out to death because of your stupid actions.)'

'That's quite harsh of you to say that. Have some sympathy to my feelings~'

'(Fuck off, I don't care about your feelings)'

*sob*

"What the hell are you crying about, brat?"

"Mister blond man, the voice in my head is being mean to me"

"Huh?!"

'(Wow, really? You're telling a dumbass human like him about my existence. Does your idiocy know no bounds?)'

'Hmph, I'm not talking to you'

'(Well, okay then. Suit yourself. Bye~)'

'Wait, wait, wait, I'm sorry. Don't leave me here'

The voice didn't respond and I was left to defend myself against the blond man.

"Gosh darn it. Well, I guess it's just you and me, pal. My voice companion just left me on my own"

"I have no idea what are you talking about"

"Of course, you don't. Dumbass~" I provoke the man by putting my finger at my lower eyelid and stick my tongue out.

"Why you!!" the blond man then got angry from my provocation and a lot of veins pop out from his head.

"Wow, damn. You really have a terrible anger issue" the man then snaps upon hearing my words and charged towards my direction.

"Well, I can't say I blame you. COME AT ME, BRUH!"

I too, charged at him, closing the gap between us.

""AAAAAARGH!!""

We both scream loudly as we swing our swords at each other.

*CLASH*

"Ho? you're quite strong for a brat like you"

"I told you, my name is Rebecca, not brat"

*clang* *Clash* *clang* *Clash* *clang*

I started on parrying his sword strikes while evading the knife on his off-hand.

*Clash* *clang* *Clash* *clang* *Clash*

Occasionally, I get a hit on him while he retaliates by simultaneously swinging his sword and knife at me, which I parry them with quick succession.

*clang* *Clash* *clang*

'he's quite fast, even though he is using north god style."

*Clash* *clang* *Clash*

"However!'

*CLANG*

'I am faster'

"AAAAAAAAAAARGGH" I yelled loudly as I increased the speed of my sword swings.

*clang* *clang* *clang* *clang* *clang*

"I-impossible! Why are you getting faster?!" the blonde thug was baffled by the speed of my strikes. He could barely keep up with my pace and was being cornered. Even his north god sword techniques can't save him from my flurry of slashes.

I then perform a backflip while kicking the man on the chin in the process and I then cartwheel backwards to gain some distance.

"Tch, as much I hate to say it, but you're quite agile for a brat like you"

After that, I then closed my eyes as I held my sword with both hands and begin to concentrate my battle aura all over my arms.

"I already told you, my name is not brat"

Raising the sword over my head, I then strengthening my grip on my sword.

"My name is..."

Then, I opened my eyes and dashed forward with battle aura covering my legs.

"!!" the blonde man was shocked to see me appeared in front of him in just a split second.

REBECCA!!"

Finally, I swing my sword downwards, slashing my foe with great speed.

"I-impossible...."

The strike I gave him leaves a deep wound and blood splattered as the sword cut him down.

The blonde man grimaces in absolute pain as blood was pouring out of his wounded torso.

Eventually, the man ran out of blood and died as he fell to the floor, bathing his body with his own blood.

'(Congratulation, you killed that annoying human)' the voice then returned after I was done with the blonde thug.

'Ah, you're still here'

'(Of course, I am. I just kept quiet while watching you two fighting each other.)'

'Eh? You're watching? Then how was it?'

'(Meh, it's a little bit slow. Although, the last attack is quite fast. I couldn't keep up with the speed of that sword strike)'

I then realized that in my last strike, my arm blurred when I swung the sword at the blonde man, as if the sword swing reached speed of light. Surely, I did the [Longsword of Light], the technique I have been longing to do, right?

'I did it, didn't I?'

'(Hm?)'

'The longsword of light, I have done it, right?'

'(Ah, that's right. The last strike was indeed a longsword of light.)'

*gasp* 'Does that means I am a [Sword Saint] now?!'

'(Technically that's correct)'

"YATTA!! YATTA!! I am a sword saint!!" I jumped in joy while cheering the words over and over again.

'(Okay, okay, don't get excited now, you still have a long way to go before reaching the God rank)'

'(Various reasons. Anyway, let's get out of here before that... noble... wakes up....)'

'What's wrong? Is something a matter, voice?'

'(Check the nobleman, now!)'

I look at where the nobleman was located, but the spot was empty and man was gone.

"Eh? He is gone! Where did he go?"

'(Dammit, give me the body)'

*BA DUMP*

The voice then took over my body and she then extended her arms apart.

"[SPACIAL DETECTION!!]"

She then paused after yelling a technique. For a while now, she stayed like that in the same position.

'Soo... Did you find him?'

'(Shut up, I'm working on it)'

'Okay...'

'(....)'

'.....'

'(Dammit, he got away)'

'Was it that bad?'

'(It's not that a big of a deal, as long as he doesn't have the... DAMMIT!)'

'What is it now? What happened?'

'(The blood is also gone as well. How the fuck he collected the blood?! It already dried up to the floor! How did this happen?!)'

'I don't know much about magic, but Roxy mentioned something like [Blood Magic] in her lecture long time ago.'

'(That's it! Fuck! How did that slip my mind?! Shet)'

'Was it really that bad?'

'(This is bad. Really bad. He's going to use that blood to clone you along with my genes in it)'

'Eh?! We should go after him, right?!'

'(It's useless. I couldn't detect his presence in this place. He must have gotten away via secret teleport circle or he jammed my detection magic. Anyway, you can have your body back.)'

*Ba dump*

The voice then gave the controls back to me and I can move my body again.

'How are you doing that anyway?'

'(Doing what?)'

'That possession thingy you just did there'

'(Ah that? I bound my own consciousness to your soul. It's some sort of soul binding magic I learned myself)'

'Cool, can I do that too?'

'(I won't recommend teaching you that. It's sacred, so I can't just teach to a seven-year-old because she asked me to)'

'Eeeeeeh?! But I want it~'

'(Oh, shut the hell up and get a move on. Your brother might be waiting for you. Ah, and also burn that dead human over there)'

'Why would I burn the body? and also, how did you know my onii-chan?'

'(There's a huge chance that the decayed body will rise again and becomes an undead skeleton. As for why I know your brother, I read your memory and I was always watching you since you were born)'

"EEEEEEEEEH?! You were watching me since the beginning?!' I asked the voice while my face is blushing.

'(Yup)'

'So that means.... you saw all of the embarrassing things I have done with onii-chan?' I asked again with my face being red all over.

'(Totally. I watched them all)'

'GUH! *echoes*'

I dropped to the ground while weeping over how embarrassing that a voice was watching me being all lovey dovey with onii-chan.

'I never be getting married from now on. I just want to die in a hole, hoping no one will find me there.'

'(oh, don't be such a drama queen. Let's get out of this place.)'

'O-okay'

I get up from my kneeling position and brush the dirt off my knees. I then use fire magic to burn the blonde thug's corpse.

After that, I went to the door of the room and exit the room

While I was walking through a dingy looking hallway, I just noticed that I haven't heard the voice's name is.

'Hey, voice. I almost forgot to ask you something'

'(What is it?)'

'You haven't introduced yourself to me. What's your name?' I asked the voice's identity due to curiosity.

'(Hmph, I am not obligated to tell a mere child this existence's identity. Just deal with my anonymity in silence)' she denied to answer my question, making me pout in annoyance.

'Oh, come on. At least tell me what I should call you'

'(I don't know and I don't care)'

'Hmph, if that's how you play it. I will be the one naming you'

'(Still don't care)'

'How about.... Kiana! *Tada*'

'(Why Kiana? What was that supposed to mean?)'

'Well, you sound like someone ancient, So I named you Kiana, which also means [ancient] in my world' I explained to the voice about the name I will give to her.

'(That sounds dumb and you suck at naming)'

'Hmph, you won't tell me your name, so, you will be stuck with that name'

'(Whatever, fuck off)'

'Damn, you swear a lot'

'(Fuck you)'

'Hmm...'

Kiana told me to screw myself, so I just shut up to avoid provoking her.

After walking for few minutes, we reach a room that I assume is some sort of prison area. There are many prison bars but most of them are empty.

However, there is one cell that has someone inside. I came closer to check who it was.

It's a cat girl and she seem to be chained up like I do a while ago. The girl has short light brown hair and has heterochromatic eyes, the left eye is green and the right eye is blue. She is currently wearing a ragged dress and she has many bandages wrapped around her arms and legs.

'Should we free her, Kiana?'

'(I don't see there's any benefits by freeing her)'

'I know. But I can't just leave her like this'

'(Whatever. Just make it quick)'

Kiana complied and let me saved the cat girl.

I point my hand to the lock of the cell and cast fire magic to melt it.

"[Fireball]"

*sizzle*

"!!" the cat girl noticed my presence because of the fireball.

*creak* I then opened the door of the prison cell and walk towards her.

"Hiss!" the cat girl then hissed at me once I got close to her.

"It's okay, I won't hurt you" I tried to calm the cat girl down but she doesn't understand what I just said.

'(Let me try)'

*Ba dump*

Kiana then took over my body and said something to the cat girl. The girl widens her eyes and starts trembling.

*Ba dump*

'What language you used? and what did you tell to make her frightened like that'

'(I used beast god language and told her to behave or else I will kill her)'

'Oi! Don't just tell those stuffs to a girl! She will become traumatized!'

'(Well, at least she's behaving now. You're welcome)'

I rolled my eyes to Kiana's answer and focused on the cat girl

"Ah, sorry about that. I have some weird impulses lately. So please calm down, little girl"

'(Oi! Who are you calling weird?!)'

'You are. now, hush for a bit'

'(Urgh...)'

Kiana groans in annoyance and shuts up as I told her.

The cat girl calms down a bit and looks at me curiously.

I then place my hand on the girl's shoulder, which made her hissed a little.

I ignored it and start chanting healing magic with voiceless incantation.

"[X-healing]" I chanted the intermediate healing magic, which heals her wounds.

The cat girl looks at my glowing hand with wonder and she was impressed on what I did.

"There, all better now. Can you move?" When I said it, she shook her head and looks at her cuffs.

"Ah, I almost forgot." I grab the cuffs and applied battle aura to my arms to yank the cuffs off.

*shatter* *shatter* *shatter* *shatter*

After freeing the girl, she moves her arms and legs, as if she's stretching.

"You're free now, girl. Ah, I almost forgot to introduce myself. My name is Rebecca, what's yours?" I introduced myself while pointing to myself, so that she could understand.

It took a while to process my question and realized what I meant.

"Felis.... Pardofelis" she answered my question with a meek tone.

"Okay, Felis-chan, you can go now." I said while signaling her to go out of the cell.

But she shook her head and grabs the hem of my dress, as if she's saying she wants to come with me.

"Felis... want... to come.... nya" she said with segmented words as if she's trying her best to speak human language with a cute nya in the end.

"Eh, you want to come with me, Felis-chan" I asked her and she somehow understand and nodded.

'(Well, that's a big waste of time. Now, move you slowpokes)'

'Geez, can you wait up a little?'

'(Hmph)'

"Well then, let's get out of this place, okay?" I told Felis-chan what to do and she again nodded.

"Yes... nya" Felis followed outside the cell and together we search for the exit of the building.

Once we found the exit, me and Felis were finally free from the building.

"Finally! Fresh air at last! That dingy place was very unpleasant to my nose for so long!" I boisterously said as I inhaled the air of the night atmosphere, Felis also joined me sniffing the air.

'Ah right, it was night time. How long was I out after I was captured by the thugs, Kiana?'

'(From my estimation, about six hours. You have been passed out for six solid hours after you were knocked out by the thugs)'

'Oh yeah, I just also wanted to asked something? Why didn't you prevent them from kidnapping me if you have the ability to detect enemies and take over my body to stop the enemies?'

'(First of all, forgive me for not paying attention to my surrounding that time. I was too focused on the anomaly on the sky. Secondly, I didn't take over your body in broad daylight because it will just blow my cover. Lastly, I want to see where those humans will take us and find out their plans. However, I was miscalculated that time and I regret not stopping them from kidnapping you, so apologies.)' Kiana explained her blunder and I nodded in understanding, which make Felis confused due to me nodding all a sudden.

While we are talking to each other in my head, I noticed that we were in what I assume is an abandoned town.

'Hey, Kiana. Do you think this town is abandoned? Can you do your spacial detection thingy?'

'(Hold on.... Nope, there's no one in this place. Well, asides from the four people on the entrance of the town)' When I heard about it, I stop walking and was shocked. Felis also turns back to check what happened.

'Wait? Do you mean that...'

'(Yup, I think it's your brother and the red-haired lady over there. As well as a guard by the entrance and a stagecoach driver as well)'

*gasp* I was surprised that onii-chan was nearby from my location.

"Rebecca... you okay, nya?" Felis then noticed me gasping all a sudden. I look at her and grab her by the shoulder, making her shudder.

"Felis-chan, there's more companions up ahead" I said enthusiastically.

"Companions, nya?" Felis asked and I nodded.

"Yes, Felis-chan. They are nice and friendly" I explained to her and she nodded confusedly. "Come on, let's go meet them" I hold Felis hands and run forward with great speed.

"Wait, nya!"

'(Oi! Not so fast. You might break her arm, you idiot)'

I ignored Kiana and Felis's plead, and kept on running towards the entrance of the town.
