Marvel, Scientist Becomes God, Ch 12

Dr. Connor brandished his sharp claws, attacking Peter with an air of invincibility as if he could easily tear through any barrier.

Ye Hai darted forward like lightning, gripping Dr. Connor's right paw just as he lunged at Peter. Seeing that Ye Hai was going toe-to-toe with him, Dr. Connor sneered and resolved to crush this guy's hand.

Suddenly, Dr. Connor's twisted face froze, displaying an expression of disbelief. Ye Hai's small hand burst forth with unexpected strength, grasping his enormous right claw tightly. A sound of cracking bones echoed, followed by a wave of excruciating pain.

"Ah!" Dr. Connor screamed in agony, trying to pry away from Ye Hai's grip but unable to escape. He swung his left paw violently toward Ye Hai's head, accompanied by a fierce rush of wind.

Ye Hai met the attack head-on with his right fist. The clash of the huge fist against the claw produced a sound of flesh and bone being crushed.

"Puff!"

Dr. Connor's lizard-like claw was twisted and deformed from the impact.

"It's impossible!" Dr. Connor cried out in pain, bewildered by how suddenly this opponent had become so strong, utterly overpowering him.

With a powerful exhale, Ye Hai dove into the massive lizard's embrace. The tremendous force impacted a sturdy bridge, causing it to creak as the colossal lizard's body crumpled inward. Blood lapped from its jagged mouth, its eyes turning glassy, clearly on the verge of collapse.

"Whoa! Dude, how did you get so strong all of a sudden?" Peter asked, flying over in shock.

"I was always this strong; I was just warming up with him a moment ago," Ye Hai replied, his sharp gaze directed at the sky, where a dazzling fighter jet was approaching.

He had spotted the aircraft lurking in the distance with his extraordinary vision, realizing that those aboard must be government agents given their impressive equipment. Therefore, he had spent 1,000 scientific points to unlock Level 4 mental power, intending to showcase his formidable abilities to the government in hopes of deterring them from causing him trouble.

The glowing figure rapidly closed in, soon a fighter jet hovered in front of them.

With a whoosh, the hatch swung open, revealing a serious-looking middle-aged man with a quiver on his back. "I am Hawkeye. Can you hand over the monster you have?"

No sooner had he spoken than a massive shadow loomed overhead. Hawkeye quickly dodged to the side, and with a loud bang, the large lizard crashed into the storage area, causing the plane to sway heavily. Fortunately, the pilot maintained control, avoiding a flight disaster.

The members of the action team, still shaken, glared at Ye Hai.

Hawkeye frowned and asked, "Sir, couldn't you have given us a heads-up?"

Ye Hai shrugged, responding, "Sorry, I didn't realize your toys were so fragile."

"Alright," Hawkeye said with a hint of resignation. "May I ask how I should address you both?"

"Call me Spider-Man," Peter said. "As for my real name, sorry, that's classified!"

Ye Hai added, "I'm a scientist, so you can call me the Doctor of Science."

Peter scoffed, "That nickname is a bit too casual, don't you think? It sounds like you just came up with it. Want me to give you a better one?"

"No thanks, I like my nickname just fine," Ye Hai declined Peter's offer.

Hawkeye adjusted his earpiece and said, "Gentlemen, our director wishes to meet with you. Please board the aircraft."

But Peter shook his head, "Sorry, I'm just a small fry working for pizza delivery. I have to go, bye!" And with that, he shot out a web and took off into the sky.

Hawkeye had anticipated this, so he didn't stop Spider-Man but turned his attention to Ye Hai, recognizing his immense potential. If they could recruit him, S.H.I.E.L.D. would gain a major asset.

"I still have a date with my girlfriend. Bye!" Ye Hai said before soaring away as well.

"Alright, everyone seems busy," Hawkeye sighed, "Let's head back."

The fighter jet began to ascend slowly, and members of the cabin directed their attention at the large lizard.

A tall Black man remarked, "That lizard must weigh at least two tons, right?"

Hawkeye assessed the creature and replied, "It's likely even more."

He reached out to touch the lizard's body, noting the high density of its scales and bones, impervious to ordinary bullets. Yet, this seemingly steel-like body had been so easily crushed by that Doctor of Science.

He's incredibly strong, that Doctor of Science!

Suddenly, Hawkeye's heart raced as he sensed extreme danger. He rolled aside just in time as a massive claw swiped through the air, slicing the tall Black man in half, showering the cabin with blood.

"Quentin!"

His teammates shouted in horror, unleashing a barrage of gunfire at the massive creature. The lizard snarled in pain, its body crashing against the door, which was torn open in an instant, and it leaped out of the aircraft in the blink of an eye.

"Splash!"

The hefty lizard rolled in the air and plunged into the river, disappearing beneath the surface.

"Descend, descend!" yelled the team members.

The fighter jet began to lower, activating infrared detection to scour the river's surface. Many fish appeared on the sensors, but there was no sign of the massive cold-blooded creature.

"Damn it! That lizard is cold-blooded, it can regulate its body temperature, so our infrared detectors can't find it," Hawkeye cursed, ultimately resignedly ordering, "Let's return!"

"Yes, sir!"

The fighter jet zoomed away, piercing the sky, and finally landed on the flying aircraft carrier.

Director Nick Fury spoke gravely, "Hawkeye, what level do you think that… Doctor of Science is?"

Hawkeye pondered for a moment before responding, "Preliminary assessment: Spider-Man and that lizard are level three, but the Doctor of Science can easily injure the lizard with brute strength, so he should be at level four."

"Another level four mutant?" Nick wondered, glancing into the dark sky. "There are very few mutants who reach level four. The most notable are Professor X and that lunatic Magneto. Aside from flight and immense power, does that Doctor have any other abilities? We need to clarify this as soon as possible!"

Level four strength and flight are manageable, but if he possesses additional abilities similar to those of Professor X or Magneto, that could be terrifying. Thus, Director Nick couldn't help but worry.
