CHAPTER 15 :MIRROR

Then, in an instant, a bartender began walking towards Killian, seemingly impervious to the chaos that had erupted. His left hand grasped a bottle of red wine, nestled in a bucket of ice, while his right hand held a slender glass. As he approached Killian, he extended the glass, his movements mechanical, as if controlled by an invisible force. Killian took the glass, his eyes never leaving the bartender's face. The man then poured wine into the glass, his actions slow and deliberate, as if savoring the moment.

Killian lifted the glass, his eyes locked on the wine's crimson hue. He inhaled the aroma, his nostrils flaring, and then took a sip. The wine's bitter taste danced on his palate, but his expression remained impassive. "Now you know how it feels to be me," he said, his voice devoid of emotion, as he placed the glass on the nearby table.

The room was frozen in time, the patrons suspended in a state of paralysis. They were trapped in their own minds, unable to move or speak. Killian's gaze swept across the room, his eyes lingering on the terrified faces. "All my life, I have lived in the state you are living in," he said, his voice dripping with an air of detachment. He didn't continue speaking, feeling that it would be useless. The people around him were confused, unsure of what was happening or why they were unable to move.

The middle-aged man, whose hair resembled Killian's, felt a creeping sense of dread. His body was frozen, unable to move or respond. He was trapped in his own mind, forced to witness the events unfolding before him. One of the bodyguards suddenly moved, his gun pointing at the man's head. The man felt the cold metal of the gun touching his skin, its heaviness oppressive. His mind screamed in terror, but his body remained still, unable to respond.

The bodyguard's eyes welled up with tears, his face contorted in a mixture of fear and anguish. He was being forced to act against his will, his mind screaming in protest. But Killian remained unfazed, his expression a mask of calmness. The man's mind begged for mercy, but his voice was silenced, trapped in his own consciousness.

The bodyguard's grip on the gun faltered, and it dropped to the ground. The man's body, still under Killian's control, reached down and picked up the gun. His finger wrapped around the trigger, and he pointed the gun at his own head. It all happened so fast that he couldn't even think. A sense of resignation washed over him, and he pulled the trigger. The sound of the gun firing was deafening, the man's body jerking violently as the bullet pierced his skull.

The room remained frozen, the patrons still trapped in their own minds. Killian's gaze never wavered, his eyes fixed on the lifeless body. A faint sigh escaped his lips, his mind already turning to the task of erasing the memories of the witnesses. He thought about the amount of work he would have to do, searching through the minds of everyone in the club, removing any memories of the events that had transpired. It would only take a second, but the thought of the work he would have to do gave him a slight pause of annoyance. He decided that instead of erasing their memories of the events, he would erase their memories entirely. It would be easier that way.

But before he could act, the air around him began to shimmer and distort, like the surface of a pond. The club's atmosphere shifted into a surreal landscape, and the mirror dimension began to manifest. The walls, mirrors, and surfaces seemed to ripple and undulate, creating strange distortions and reflections.

Killian's instincts flared to life, his vision shifting into a kaleidoscope of colors. His eyes changed, becoming a darker shade, and he felt an inexplicable urge to turn his head to the left. He did so, his eyes scanning the area, but he saw nothing. Yet, he knew that the danger was coming from that direction.

Suddenly, a portal materialized in front of him, its edges glowing with a golden light. The portal opened, revealing a woman with skin as white as marble. Her eyes locked onto Killian, her gaze piercing. Killian tried to use his telepathic abilities on her, but his powers were met with an unexpected resistance. "Outsider, mutation has no effect on me, so I suggest you stop," she said, her voice dripping with an air of superiority. Killian's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the implications. He knew that he was facing a foe unlike any he had ever encountered.
