Strange feeling...

Ethan's pov continue..

I stared at her like all of this was ridiculous. She didn't even wait for my answer And just started to walk toward the exit.

She got permission to use the school's lab and all type of equipment so we had gone to school which I had left for 5-6 months.

We reached the lab. Firstly, i made her understand the concept properly. Well, she was smart but I can tell the bio-chemical field suits her more. Her project was about a object scanning device. We set criteria of 80% accuracy of scanning if some specific metals aren't used.

After a few hours, we were done for the day. I could make this thing in 4 to 5 days even in 2 with Alice's help. But since I had to teach her during the process. it would take a few weeks. I don't want to admit but it was quite fun or at least a new experience for me.

I dropped her home. she invited me in but I refused saying "another time" and took a taxi back to my home.

After reaching my house I quickly went to my room. surprisingly I felt quite refreshed today. I was in good mood and had free time. because earlier backlash training was a big no.

I turn on the tv to watch and saw some videos of Black lotus fighting abomination were running on the news. 'It's going on for the past three days now.' I sighed at the thought and turn off the tv. There wasn't anything new.

Seating on the bed. I thought about my transportation problem. Earlier I had to steal a bike to reach Harlem. I thought about it for while and finally decided to make a foldable hoverboard.

I didn't have anything else to do. so I started to work on it immediately. It will take some time for me to make it usable in battles but i had to start from somewhere.

The next day was the weekend so again Gwen call and reminded me to reach school on time. But she was the one late and when I made a face of a question mark. She said "what are you making face for. guys can wait for girl."

We reached the lab and started to work on the her project again. After a while peter also came but left quickly for his spider work.

After getting done with today's work. We went for lunch at her favourite place. it was quite good.

She started to talk about the harlem incident and how much peter wanted to meet Black lotus. She said "you have no idea how much of a fan peter had became of him since the star expo."

She continued to talk about her goal getting into oxford after high school. that's why the project is important. It was strange but my mind was clear and calm. As calm as still water. without any thoughts. I just stared at her without saying anything and just listened. And time went by.

After lunch. she was going to meet with peter so I also left for home. somehow it left bitterness in my mood But I ignored it thinking it to be result of not able to train. So reaching home i started work on the hoverboard.

I worked on it for rest of the day. during eating dinner I suddenly thought about the lunch I had with Gwen. I recall the whole thing. I was staring at her the whole time as continued her blabbering. it was strange but somehow there was a quite warm feeling, something i can't put my head around.

That jad never happened before. "Well, whatever" i thought. I didn't dwell too much in it and focused on my dinner. I don't like to think much about these kinds of things. Those things just gives too much distraction.

General pov...

It was the ending time of 2011. It's been 4 months since the harlem terror incident. Ethan had long recovered from his injuries. More so he had also further incred his aura reserves. He had 30 % more aura reserves than before and especially his wind element. He can now use the wind to make his fire more destructive and his sword attack sharper.

His ice element showed very little improvement as always. but now he can freeze a bucket full of water completely.

He was still unable to launch a pure aura attack on long distance. It wasn't Ethan's fault, it's just that hard to achieve because Aura disappeared in the atmosphere as it goes further from the user. so as a solution user had to cover the aura attack with a another layer of compressed aura. which is hard to control and needs too much focus. That's why aura users are generally short-range fighters an like sorcerers.
