Chapter 2: Ever Changing

The next day was spent getting to know the other students of class 1a. Aizawa had explained that Midoriya would be joining in on classes but to not discuss this outside of the classroom.

'Hi, my name is Kaminari Denki.'

'I'm, Todoroki Shoto.' 'Kirishima Eijirou'

'Tokoyami Fumikage' 'Sero Hanta'

'Jiro Kyoka' 'Koda Koji' 'Ojiro Mashirao'

'Shoji Mezo' 'Ashido Mina' 'Iida Tenya'

'Yaoyorozu Momo' 'Uraraka Ochaco' 'Sato Rikido'

'Hagakure Toru' 'Asui Tsuyu'

'And finally last but sparklingly not least I am Aoyama Yuga'

'And as you know already I'll be your teacher and resident guardian for the time being, Aizawa Shouta.'

"It's a pleasure to meet you all, my name is Midoriya Izuku and I'll be in your care for the foreseeable future."

Classes were fairly normal, although Aizawa had given him the choice on whether or not he wanted to study with them or just listen. And although he would have loved to learn what these future heros were learning, he decided ultimately that another matter should be on the forefront of his mind.

"Instead of studying this, would it be ok for me to have access to the library? I'd like to do some research on why I'm still here and how it will affect this 'world of the living.' Kacchan will be doing research of his own after school hours but I'd like to help him in any way that I can."

'Alright, that will be ok, just as long as you don't make trouble. You will be able to go to the school library after class with Bakugou, he will need to check out the books and you can study them during class hours.'

"Thank you sir."

"Wow, the library is huge! I can't believe how many books there are."

'Keep it down Deku, we're still not sure what allowed class 1a to see you and we don't want to run into anyone else who can see you.'

"Right, sorry Kacchan."

As the two boys walked through the many aisles of the library, they decided to split up to find what books might help them. As Midoriya walked he was lost in amazement at the structure of the library, just as he was about to pass an older woman stacking shelves, she looked at him and asked,

'Excuse me, may I help you find anything?'

Not realizing at first that she was talking to him he had kept walking, he was just about to leave the aisle when it hit him, he whirled around and immediately walked back to her.

"Ah, are you talking to me?"

'Why of course dear, who else would I be talking to.'

*Why can she see me? What's going on?!* he thought, lost in his mind with his ongoing questions.

'If there isn't anything you need help with, I'll return to my work now.'

"Oh, sorry, no I do not need help, thank you for asking though." He was quick to stutter out before taking his leave to go tell Bakugou this new development.

"I'm telling you Kacchan, she could see me! I didn't even do anything." The green haired boy exclaimed, moving animatedly as he retold what had just happened.

'And you're sure nothing happened to trigger it?'

"Positive, I only walked past her."

'Hmm, ok, we'll keep that in mind. In the meantime, I found some books on this *situation* I'll go check them out, you start heading back, I'll meet you at our room and we can start going through these.'

"Ok."

It had been two hours since both boys had started researching their current 'situation.'

"Ugh, nothing useful in this book either." The green haired boy sighed, setting down his book in favor of picking up another to read it.

*What's this?* he thought, looking through the last few pages of the book.

It'd only taken just a glance at a paragraph for him to slam down the book, startling bakugou in the process.

The green haired boy then immediately got up, heading to the blonde on the other side of the room.

'Did you find anything?' The blonde asked, his attention now trained on the younger.

"Yeah and I'd like to go check it out, do you think we can take a day from class?"

'Maybe but we're going to have to give mr. Aizawa a good reason.'

"Its a good reason don't worry and I'd also like to convince him to let us leave UA as well."

'That will be really difficult but hopefully not impossible, where are we going anyway?'

"To a library that was mentioned in the book I was reading. It might be a long shot but it's not far from UA and if there is a chance we can learn something new I'd like to go for it."

'Hmm, I'll talk to him tomorrow morning and see if we're allowed, and if he doesn't allow you, just write down the Library address and I'll just go myself.'

"Ok, thanks, Kacchan."

In the morning Bakugou talked to Aizawa to get permission so leave, Aizawa was hesitant at first so Bakugou met him in the middle by saying that he can go by himself if that would be better and that it's really important to get as much information as they can before something potentially dangerous happens with Midoriya.

And that's all it took, with permission, Bakugou left for the Library that could potentially hold the answers to a lot of questions.

It took an hour by train to reach the Library and once the blonde had he immediately got a bad feeling, pushing that aside he ventured in.

"Excuse me, can you tell me where the books on supernatural phenomenons are?" He asked, having found a librarian as soon as he made it into the building.

'Sure, there should be a section on that topic in the back right corner of the basement, just head down the flight of stairs to your left and the arrows will guide you to the room, remember, right corner to the back.'

"Ok, thank you." He bowed shortly before standing back up to follow the librarian's instructions.

The stairs seemed endless as he climbed down them, each level seeming to bring more dread as he went. Eventually though he made it.

'So this is it huh, Mortem Library.'
