"Woah!" Sol and Natalie watched as the scenery flashed past them.
"How fast are we going?" Natalie asked.
Gar looked down at his instruments, "We're traveling at 432 m/hr."
Natalie's skin turned pale; Sol looked uncomfortable but didn't comment.
"HOW are you going so fast and not hitting anything?!" Natalie shouted in fear.
"It's Jedi reflexes, he can go a lot faster. He would still be able to maneuver even if he broke the sound barrier," Sol reassured Natalie. It didn't look like his words helped much. How much more worried would she be if she knew Sol's estimation of Gar's ability was based on a movie?
"Don't worry, I'll slow down when we reach our destination. They'll never see us," Gar smiled as if being seen by Dreykov's people was her main concern.
"I would prefer not to end my young life as a pancake," Natalie commented.
"Look at you Natalie, I'm impressed!" Gar said from the front.
Natalie found something to hold onto and held on for dear life, "What are you talking about?" She half shouted.
"A week ago you would always answer questions with this flirty method. You weren't very good at it, so I'm glad you aren't doing it now. I think you're much too young to make your first go-to flirtation. You have many more skills and abilities; I never understood why that was the first thing you went to. Maybe it was the Red Room, perhaps they thought that was your best skill, but you know what I think your best quality --"
"Watch out!" Natalie screamed and Sol grimaced. They were wearing their helmet and looking at the video from the front of the cameras. A deer jumped in front of the speeder. At the last moment, the speeder swerved around the deer.
"You can stay calm in high-pressure situations," Gar complimented.
"Gar, can we talk about this later?" Natalie asked in fear.
"Maybe now isn't the best time for this," Sol agreed with Natalie.
Gar shrugged, "It's fine, we're almost there anyway. The speeder slowed and eventually came to a stop.
"Let's suit up," Gar said as the canopy opened and he jumped out.
"Suit up?" Natalie asked.
"Yeah, we'll take a look and if everything checks out, we'll go ahead and take action tonight," Gar was already at the back and opened the trunk.
Natalie exited the speeder and ran around to the back to confront Gar. Sol followed close behind her, but unlike her, he was more interested in his equipment. He put on his Clone Trooper armor in the urban camouflage.
"Wait, what about coming here with the masters, like the plan?" Natalie asked.
"Don't worry, I've taken care of everything," Gar says as he looks into the distance. Natalie didn't feel reassured.
"If we get into trouble, we'll call the Masters," Sol added.
"We'll probably be dead before they get here," Natalie said as she looked into the trunk to retrieve her suit. She found black and grey armor and a helmet. There was also a black body suit, she ducked down an alley and put on the body suit. The armor was contoured to her figure making it sleek and easy to move in. There was a red hourglass emblem on the front upper chest of the armor.
She looked at the helmet unlike Sol's helmet, hers lacked a T-visor. Instead, there were two large eyes with smaller sensor units. Were they useful or meant for intimidation? It was certainly intimidating. She saw that the mandibles were part of a seamless whole for the helmet. It looked like it was part of a breathing apparatus. She placed it on her head and felt the helmet connect with the rest of the suit and close. The suit was an independent environment now. She was breathing air stored in the suit.
The Heads Up Display (H.U.D.) activated and she felt like she could see everything at a 360-degree angle without moving her head. Gar and Sol were outlined in a thin blue light, other lifeforms were outlined in a neutral yellow. The helmet displayed the positions of dogs, cats, rats, and whatever. These animals had a thing grey outline.
She flipped through the icons and got familiar with the other features of the helmet. The helmet even allowed her to see things as if it were daytime. A slight purple overlay allowed her to know it was night.
"Turn around and back up to the trunk," Gar said.
Natalie looked at him and saw that even he wore light armor under his robes.
"Why?" Natalie couldn't help but ask.
"I made a special weapon pack for you, but it connects to the back, so turn around," Gar repeated his orders. Natalie did as he said and used the HUD to watch as two thin legs extended from the back of the trunk. A sleek oval-shaped object mirroring the 'S-curve' of the spine pulled out followed by another two legs.
The ovoid body adjusted vertically to align with Natalie's back and then attached to it. New menus and functionalities appeared in her HUD under the title 'W1D-0W.' Natalie tried to speak and after a while realized no one heard her. She activated the external voice with her eyes as it interfaced with the HUD.
"W1D-0W, huh?" Natalie said in a mechanical voice. The voice sounded familiar, but she couldn't place it. The voice sounded menacing and inviting. It was as if she were luring a fly into her web.
"Call it what you like, it's a series designation. This is the first in my W1 series of droids. The W1D is for Widows. I figured, you might want to arm your sisters if they continued with dangerous work. It was just an idea," Gar said without further comment.
"How much sugar did you consume this week?" Sol asked with a laugh.
"A lot," Gar responded.
"Sugar?" Natalie wasn't sure what they were talking about.
"Haven't you noticed how much stuff he accomplished in the last week? He finished his Rancor speeder, built for trop transport/mobile bases, created droids and a droid maker, outfitted you with your armor, and made a plan to complete the missions. Plus he trained all week with Mater M'tz. That's everything we know he did; I'm sure there's more than that. He's been on a sugar bender this week," Sol finished commenting as Natalie looked at her friend, Gar.
I felt a disturbance in the Force. I've been preparing the best I can," Gar shifted and clipped his weapons to his belt.
"If you felt a problem, why did you leave the Masters out of this?" Natalie asked.
"Siiiigggghhhhhh, things will probably go better if we go alone," Gar said.
Sensing the strangeness of the situation, Sol not so subtly changed the subject. "Why did you make her a droid backpack?"
"She's a Black Widow, but she's not remotely spider-like. Plus, I thought it would keep her safer. It will also increase the efficiency of the operation. The legs have several functions, you can look at them in the information section of the droid settings info," Gar closed the trunk and took out a round disc, he set it on the trunk, and a blue light appeared and displayed a holo-map.
"Here's the plan," gar began.
