Solution

"What should we do?" Char's mind went on an overdrive as his last trump card could not finish the job.

"If I can summon Skelly once more than it should be able to kill the living armor with another full powered explosion, but I still need a minute before it can summon it," he analyzed.

"Anne, help me protect your Imp, we need to but some time, I need a minute to summon my skeleton!" he told the girl.

They ran toward the imp as the living armor walked toward it. The creature was missing a lot of part of its body.

It missed a huge chunk of its head, its frontal armor got smashed inside, and one of its arms was cut off, Char could see its hollow body.

Normal creatures would have died if they suffered as much damage as the living armor, but unluckily the skeleton was fighting its distant cousin.

Living armor is categorized as undead, it could live as long as some parts of it were not destroyed, it could not feel pain or tired just like any other undead.

Some people might have mistaken it as golems, but it did not have any core like golem, so it could not be put in the same category as golems.

The imp understood that it would not stand a chance against the undead; it had fought Skelly before and it knew how undead would just take damage in exchange for dealing damage in return.

If it was just fighting some creature on the same level, then it would be alright, but against the higher level creature, it would prove fatal.

It moved back to buy more time, Char and Anne quickly came to back it up but they had forgotten about something.

"Hey, don't forget about us," The summoners already upon them, they came from behind them in a pincer attack against them.

"I had to applaud you that you were actually able to kill my creature, but you should not have any magic item left that can explode the living armor, your loss is inevitable!" the holy horse's summoner said.

"Anne, can you take care of them?" Char asked his teammate.

"Are you crazy? I was barely able to beat our last opponent. What makes you think I can beat the two of them alone?" She retorted.

"Then there is no other way! Beat the living armor now!" Char said as he ran at the broken armor.

The girl and her summoned creature followed behind him with mana gathered at their feet. They got ready to activate their magic.

The living armor raised its sword at him, but he took a step to the side before he used his vertical strike on it.

To his dismay, he didn't have any mana to activate the physical boost, the sword only bounced back when it clashed against the living armor's metal body.

His power got bounced back and his arm went numb from the collision. He tried to move back, but the living armor speed suddenly increased.

"Damn, it actually fakes its movement speed," he cursed as he raised his sword to block the living armor's attack.

It was so strong that it pushed him back he got sent back by a few meters; he rolled on the ground, he about to fall from the arena but he used his sword to stop himself from getting out of bound.

Anne and the Imp already attacking the armor before it could reorient itself. They kicked it with a flaming kick.

To everyone's surprise, the kicks actually shattered the armor's side, both of them were aiming at the same spot so their kicks actually amplified each other.

Additionally, she took a page out of Char's book and layered her magic. She activated the iron kick with the fire kick together.

"I just need to do this a few more times," she thought, but the armor did not falter. It punched her in the face with its iron gauntlet.

She crossed her arm in defense but it still sent her flying away. She rolled a few times before she fell from the arena.

The imp tried to kick once more but its kick only bent the armor's body; it swung its sword faster than before and cut the imp's feet off.

It screamed in pain as blood flowed out of its feet without stopping, but its scream stopped as a sword pierced it in the head.

"The winner is Team Horse Armor!" the host announced.

Char could only smile bitterly as he was not able to get the first place. For someone who was always on the top, losing was a new sensation to him.

Anne and he smiled bitterly as the stand on a podium received their reward for winning second place.

"Here are your medals and a single mana crystal as a consolation prize," the host said as he handed them the things.

"Do you have anything to say to the audience? To be able to reach second place with a skeleton and imp is a big achievement, even if it costs you a lot of magic items," he continued.

"If I were to tell you that I made them myself and it doesn't cost as much as you think, would you believe me?" he asked as he made a plan in his mind.

"You can make magic items?" The man asked in disbelief.

"It's a magic tattoo, I can make one for any of you for two magic stones. If any one of you is interested in getting the magic tattoo, then you can contact me," he promoted his service.

He purposely did dont say the drawback of the magic circle so more people would try to buy it from him.

Char had started to think for another way to make money, and after his performance in the tournament, it was the right chance for him to sell his service.

"I might even get more than 5 magic crystals by selling these magic circles. I just need a way to disguise them so others could not decipher them," he thought as he put his best sales smile on.

Here is today's chapter, I hope you like the tournament!

have a nice day :D
