Money Making

"Char, since you are going to get a lot of mana crystals, how about you give me the reward?" Anne poked him while they left the arena grounds.

They had seen the crowd's excitement when they learned about the magic tattoo, a lot of people want to buy his tattoos.

"Let's talk about it when I actually get the money. Right now there might be a lot of people interested in it, but most of them don't have enough money to buy my service. Only those in the top 200 might have enough money to buy my service," he said calmly.

"But, that still means you have 200 prospective buyers. If half of them buy your tattoo, then you will get 200 mana crystals, right?" She asked.

Char could see money swimming in her eyes, but he shook his head, "no, I will need to use one of the mana crystals as material to make the tattoo so I will only get half of that," he told her.

"And if that is not enough, most of them will think twice once they know about the tattoo's limitation. Only those who have a lot of money would bother about it," he added.

Just as they were still talking to each other, someone stood in their way. She had her hand crossed as if she had been waiting for them.

The duo only spared her a glance before they continued to walk, they just continued as if nothing happened.

"Wait! Don't ignore me!" Layla shouted at them.

"Huh? Do we know you? If you want my signature, then wait for another time, I have something to do," Char looked at her as if she was a stalker.

"No! I want to buy your tattoo," She said. Her smile spasmed as the duo did not even recognize her.

Char was too busy with his study to memorize every one. He had heard about her name but never knew how she looked.

On the other hand, Anne was not interested in the girl, she only focused on her training and would not bother to memorize her face.

"Ah? Do you have the money with you? If you want to buy my service, then you will need to pay me first," he went straight to the point.

"Here," she threw the mana crystals at him, the girl actually wanted to retort when the boy doubted her ability to pay but she held it in since she wanted to buy the magic tattoo and it would not be wise to offend him before she got what she wanted.

"Before that, you need to know that you can only use the magic circle on one occasion. It will disappear when the creature dies after it has used the tattoo. If that is alright with you, then we can continue the deal," he informed her.

"Alright, I will take two then," the girl pulled two more mana crystals before she passed it to him once more.

"Please follow me then, I will need to do it somewhere private since this includes a trade secret," he asked her to follow him toward an empty room near the arena.

Once they reached the building, she quickly summoned her bonded creature, a dog-sized fox appeared by her side.

The fox had golden fur and six bushy tails behind its back; they looked so soft that Char could not help but want to touch them.

"I will need you to wait outside during the process, and for your creature to not resist or attack me in any way during this process," he told the girl.

"I have told it to follow your every order, you don't need to be afraid that it will attack you, as long as you don't hurt it, it will not attack you," she told him.

"The process will be painful, and I would not take the risk that it went berserk and attacked me," he explained.

After some convincing, Char was finally alone with the fox. It just stays there, waiting for him to make a move.

Once he was sure that no one was looking, he ordered the fox to stay still. He made a stance and mana started to gather in his arm as he activated the physical boost.

Without a sword of his own, Char could only use his hand as a blade. With a quick move, he cut the fox's front paw.

Blood started to gush out, but it stopped after a while. Once the blood stopped, the boy pulled a mana crystal and started to channel the mana from the crystal to draw the tattoo.

He drew it on Fox's stump leg. He did it on purpose so the tattoo will be invisible to naked eyes, and others will have a hard time responding.

Unless someone cut the fox's front leg at the same spot as Char did, then it will not be visible.

Char drew one resistance magic and one movement magic, just like the girl requested.

"Now for the final part," he activates his physical boost once more and uses his hand to do a vertical strike, killing the innocent fox.

"Where is my creature?" Layla asked the moment he got out alone.

"I killed it. You will need to re-summon it to see the result." Char said without remorse.

He had killed his own summoned creature multiple times, which made him feel like it was not a big deal.

"Why did you do that?" Layla looked at him in horror.

"You don't need to be alarmed, I have finished the tattoos. This is just a normal procedure," he tried to reassure her.

She waited for ten minutes before she could summon the creature once more. When she finished, an angry fox appeared beside her. It looked at Char with killing intent.

"you can't see the tattoos since I hid it, but your creature should be able to use it either way," he informed her before leaving.

"I got two mana crystals within an hour, this feels like a dream!" he thought.

Once he finished with the first customer, more and more people came to him. Some people changed their mind once they knew about its drawback, while others did not mind the limitation.

"I will be rich!" he thought as he made more than he expected.

Sorry for the delay, there was an issue that took my time and concentration away.

You might have noticed that I delete the discord server for this book. That was because of some people abusing it to frame me, and I needed to do some damage control.

Anyway, enjoy your day!! :D
