I smiled. It fit. He was my spring breeze, unlike anyone I had ever met. Childlike. Unjaded. Deeply appreciative of everything given to him. He was my breath of fresh air.

“Do you have to work tomorrow?” I asked him. He nodded. “Then let’s go to your apartment, pick up the things you might need. I want you to stay with me tonight, and every night while I’m here. I’ll drive you to work each day. C’mon, let’s go back to my hotel and get my car and do that now. I want to have the whole evening together with you.”

Holding hands, we walked back to my hotel and got my car. His apartment was a bit farther away than I had imagined. It would mean rising early each morning to beat the traffic and get him to work on time. It would mean no lounging in bed during the week. But that didn’t matter. I would do anything to be with him all night.
