Guardian of the Pacific: The Incredible Adventures of the Giant Turtle

The boy woke up as a giant turtle in the Pacific Rim. This is a story about a guy with a good moral compass. If you want to read how MC destroys cities and sinks ships, then this fanfic is not for you. There will be no magical transformation back into a human. This is my first fanfic. English is not my native language, so I used a translator. In the first chapters, I used GPT for some paragraphs of text, but the result is not satisfactory. Then everything is manual work. I do not own the rights to the universe and characters in this story.

The Wall

After several days of sailing I finally reached Australia and I was amazed by what I saw.

Across the entire coastline was a huge wall of concrete and steel. This wall hid the continent behind it and I could not see where I was.

The coastline is never flat. Small bays and islands, rocks and sandy shores, river arms and forests have always made the shores unique and beautiful. But now a gray wall passes through all this beauty.

I floated along the wall admiring its monumentality (if you can say that). It was a work of engineering art. The wall went through rocks and sand. She even blocked rivers with herself, leaving holes in herself for water to flow out.

I got out of the water and walked up to the wall. They called this wall "Wall of Life", but for me it was just a tourist attraction. And if people built something like this in peacetime, it would attract a lot of tourists. Too bad it was built with some fate of betrayal. So many resources have been invested in this project that it would be possible to build a dozen more Jaegers for the cost of a wall in Australia.

I have not forgotten why I came here. But I needed an audience. What I was going to do was for all people to see.

When I was near the wall, I was surprised by its size. 'Shouldn't it be bigger?' I thought. This wall was shorter than me. It was a little higher than my chest, somewhere at the level of the neck. I raised an eyebrow in surprise, looking at this "fence".

'How can people even believe that this thing can protect them?' I raised my head a little and looked behind this "fence" and saw some towns and roads on the other side. A little further there were forests and fields.

'Theoretically, Category 1 and 2 Kaiju won't be able to pass through the wall easily, but they can climb over it!' I shook my head, amazed at the stupidity of people. They may think that Kaiju are domestic geese that are unable to overcome even a 20-centimeter obstacle and as soon as they see something like that, they bypass it, not wanting to even flap their wings.

But Kaiju is not a pet that obeys fences. Kaiju will simply climb over the wall if he can't destroy it.

'But I have to admit that if people had built a wall like that in Jurassic Park, then the dinosaurs wouldn't have escaped.' Grinning, I picked up my ax and began scratching at the wall with it as I walked along it. I walked slowly and confidently, holding the ax in one hand and leaving a long ax scar on the wall.

The concrete cracked and crumbled as the ax made a scar several meters deep. I tried to attract attention, and I succeeded. After 10 minutes, I was surrounded by many news helicopters and ships, both civilian and military.

No one tried to tell me anything or stop me. There were no Jaegers either. People were just watching what I was going to do. I had already walked several kilometers and the scar on the wall was the same length. I didn't know if there were people in the middle of the wall, but I think I gave everyone a good scare with my "aggressive" act.

People have worked so hard to build this, and I'm just brazenly scratching it in front of their faces. They must feel like the owners of an expensive car when their car is scratched with a key.

I kept walking, looking for a section of the wall beyond which there was no city. I had to admit that walling off the big cities might have saved a lot of lives, but walling off the entire east and north coast of Australia was stupid.

I wondered how they were going to bridge the ocean between the continents. It's either they're not talking about it on purpose, or they really think people are capable of doing it. Well, if I took up this work with many of my clones, then we could do this work in a couple of dozen years... Maybe they make clones for this?

Thinking thus, I reached Sydney. Behind the wall I noticed a famous theater building with a white roof like the sails of a yacht. I have never been to this city, so it was interesting to look behind the wall. I must have looked like the Titan from the anime before I destroyed the wall.

A smile appeared when I heard the sirens in the city. The authorities tried to scare people even more with my presence by turning on the evacuation siren. But I wasn't going to tear down the wall here. I wasn't stupid. The wall, if only for an hour, will hold the Kaiju.

Before going further, I wrote on the wall "I was Here". It was a large inscription in English. The inscription i was made large, almost half the wall. I moved on continuing my act of vandalism.

My long journey along the wall continued for many hours. I passed another city that stretched along the ocean for many kilometers. Finally, I got tired of walking and decided to destroy the wall. Having found a suitable place without roads and buildings on the opposite side of the wall. Stopping, I hit the wall hard with my fist, leaving a dent in it.

BOOM

The helicopters that were flying smoothly far from me suddenly changed their flight path and became more lively, looking for the most beautiful perspective.

With this blow, I notified the people, who might be inside, run away from there. I had enough of the deaths on the ship that I sunk. Those people were ready to die when they shot me, but I still felt bad.

BOOM

I punched the wall again. The concrete fell to the ground, leaving a huge dent at the point of impact.

I didn't need to use the ax, so I hit the ground with it, leaving it sticking out not far from me.

Taking a few steps back through the water, I began to adjust myself. I wanted to destroy this wall with one push. Inhaling air and tensing my muscles, I ran at full speed towards the wall, putting my shoulder forward. My feet were in the water and I was kicking up a lot of spray as I ran forward. As I reached land, my feet stamped on the ground, causing an earthquake, and the next moment I hit the wall.

BOOOOOOM

The powerful blow I delivered shook the entire wall. Even the people standing on the wall on the other side of the continent felt the jolt. The wall sagged in the city where I hit it, but it didn't fall completely. I did not manage to destroy her with one blow. The concrete cracked and the wall looked like a broken car window. Gray dust rose into the air and concrete and steel began to fall out of the cracks onto the ground.

'Strong wall! It withstood more than one push!'

HA-HA-HA-HA

I laughed out loud as I walked back for another try. The wall in front of me had been beaten very badly, so I felt that if I hit it again, I would fall on the opposite side. I didn't want to embarrass myself by falling, so I ran slower this time, but in front of the wall I took a small forward lunge.

BOOOOM KREECK BAH

Just as I thought, the wall collapsed completely from my second blow, revealing a view of the sunset on the horizon. A lot of concrete and metal fell, forming a large pile of debris on the opposite side of the wall. I stood in the opening I had created, completely illuminated by the orange light of the setting sun.

Standing on the rubble of the wall, I glared at the helicopters circling around me. Making an angry face and showing his teeth to the people watching from their TVs. They took me too lightly, doing what they wanted. They need to wake up from their slumber and take action because their survival was at stake.

Turning, I walked back to the ocean, raising my ax. Then I had to wait for the reaction of the World Council. I had never been to the Australian desert before, so I dived into the ocean and swam further along the coast to find it. It seems that the desert in Australian was in the west of the continent, so I sailed first south and then west, looking for the desert.

POV: A bar somewhere in Australia

"Billy! Pour me a glass of the best." A man in work clothes entered the bar. It was clear that he had decided to drink before returning home. There were many such workers in the bar. They came here to relax after a hard day's work.

"Here you go," replied the bartender, pouring some kind of poison into a glass for a new customer.

"…with only two blows, Torterra destroyed the wall that was supposed to protect us from the Kaiju. It will take a long time to repair the wall, and the people feel unsafe because the Kaiju can pass through the hole made by Torterra. The government assures that they will start repairs as soon as Torterra leaves the shores of Australia!"

On TV they talked about the events that happened today. The bar was quiet and people were listening to TV.

"This wall is useless! If he destroyed it, so can the Kaiju," said a man who had just entered the bar. His name was Edward.

"Have you seen this monster? He is a head bigger than all Kaiju. Having destroyed the wall, now the Kaiju will be able to pass. Does he want us dead? He betrayed us!" Another man sitting next to Edward started yelling at him.

"Are you stupid? This wall is just a joke, all it can do is delay the Kaiju for a couple of minutes!" Edward was surprised by the reaction of the man next to him.

"Don't say that! The government knows what they are doing. Engineers calculated everything. We work every day without a day off to build this damn wall. She will protect us! And all this monster does is sit on his island and do nothing. Did he come to us at least once to save from the Kaiju? No! He never visited Australia. But here he is! Instead of fighting the Kaiju, he decided to breach our defenses and swim away as if nothing had happened!" A scream filled the bar and everyone turned their attention to this guy.

"Calm down! The traitors here are the government that forced us to build this wall for food. It's a good thing Torterra destroyed it, otherwise we would have died if it was a Kaiju." Edward responded to the shouts of the man next to him with his own arguments.

BAH

Edward felt a punch to his cheek and fell from his chair to the ground. He was hit suddenly, and he did not notice anything. Holding his cheek, he rose to his feet. Several other men approached him and kneaded their fists.

"Aren't you one of those anarchists who riot every week?" One of the men said to Edward.

"Just not in a bar! Otherwise, none of you will be drinking here again," said Billy (the bartender).

"I will not take my words back. My family's lives are at stake and I say this wall cannot protect us. It's just a piece of shit!" Edward didn't back down.

BAH

Edward felt another blow, this time he was hit in the stomach.

"What's going on here?" A few more men rose from the tables at the bar and approached Edward and the others.

"This guy is telling the truth. This wall is a piece of shit." Said one of the men who had just come up.

"Truth? Then maybe you can protect us better than this wall?"

HA-HA-HA

"The great defender of Super Mario! The plumber is saving us from the Kaiju!"

AAAHA-HA-HA

BAH BOOM

No one was going to put up with these stupid jokes, and a fight broke out in the bar. Men beat each other to blood, knocking out teeth. Edward wasn't about to be left out either. He punched the guy who started the argument with him, and he fell to the ground unconscious.

BAH

Edward felt himself being hit in the back and blood poured from his head. He got down on one knee and held his head.

"Stop! Just not in a bar! I'm calling the police! You will pay for everything you broke here!" In this times, money was hard, so the bartender was in despair and shouted with all his might, but it was useless to calm people down.

Such fights took place all over the world. Everyone who saw Torterra break the wall made a choice. People chose whose side they were on and defended their positions, because their lives and the lives of their loved ones depended on it.
