About Time

Bruce sat in the Batmobile, racing towards the city power generator in the south. He had been monitoring the state of the battle so far and he had to say, their chances of winning is highly dependent on if Darkseid had more parademons to dispatch or not.

If the Justice League kept up with this intensity of firepower, sooner or later, they'll tire out. They also couldn't bet on the fact that Darkseid didn't have more parademons to send out. They had to do something about those portals they keep crawling out from, and it had to be done fast.

"Barry. How fast can you take care of the parademons at your side?"

Boosting the thrusters on his leg, he smashed his feet into the last parademon, sending it into a building before running towards it, smashing his hand through its head.

"Just took care of the last one. What do you need me to do?" Barry asked, taking this brief moment to recover lost stamina.

"We need to take care of the portals the minions are swarming out of. See if you can do something about that. I'll relay the message to the rest."

"Aye Aye!" He opened up the map on his HUD and tried to find the simplest way into the ship.

He shot off, approaching the main battlefield in a matter of seconds.

'It'd help if I could take out more parademons inside the ship though. The amount of XP these guys drop is extremely juicy.'

He went around all the chaos and phased through the ship from behind.

Darkseid, standing atop the ship, gazed back for a second and smirked. "It's about time. My muscles are getting sore just standing here."

Jumping down from the ship, he made a dent in the floor, the shockwave from his descent was like a message to the nearby members of the Justic League.

Superman, Wonder woman and Green lantern, paused for a moment to look ahead. "This can't be good", they all thought.

"I'll go meet him. When you're done at your end, Batman, Cyborg, come assist Diana take care of the uglies."

He shot off and landed right in front of Darkseid. They stared each other in the eye, releasing their auras completely. The force of the energy stored within their bodies, clearing everything in a 100m radius around them.

Acting fast, Superman lunged at Darkseid, throwing a barrage of fists towards him. Darkseid parried almost effortlessly, swatting his fists away like little flies. Parrying one more fist, he retaliated with a haymaker that would have leveled a city block, sending Superman rocketing through the air like a bullet ricocheting off a tank.

He slammed through a holographic billboard, the image of a laughing family replaced by an array of fractured pixels. He rocketed back towards Darkseid, his eyes—twin suns burning with heat vision.

Darkseid unleashed his Omega Beams, two emerald spears of annihilation that met Superman's heat vision in a mid-air explosion. The resulting inferno turned the sky into a churning vortex of superheated air, the shockwave rippling outward like a monstrous tidal wave, shattering everything in its path.

Every parademon caught in it's blast radius instantly vaporated.

Barry quickly got into the spaceship. The inside felt way larger than it was on the outside. Without a maze, it felt like a city of it's own.

Using his HUD system, he quickly tried hacking into the surveillance systems of the ship. But no matter how much he tried, all he got in return was an 'ERROR' screen.

Giving up, he decided to take a tour of the entire ship until he found what he was looking for, while mapping out the ship.

He zapped around the entire length and width of the breadth of the entire ship, making it look like the ship was being electrocuted.

A man got off a chair in the control room of the spaceship. A wicked smile painted his face as he cracked his knuckles.

A disembodied voice crackled through his communicator, sending a jolt of ice down his spine. Barry paused for a moment.

"So... the fastest man alive has finally shown himself," the voice rasped, a hint of amusement, laced with something far more sinister. "Tell me, Flash, how long do you think you can outrun the inevitable?"
