Vista was seated inside the study room pressing her forehead. Leon's one act has created huge problems for her.
Now all the shareholders of the company were questioning her why they were not told about Leon's situation. She looked at the buzzing phone and didn't pick it up anymore.
She pressed the intercom and a maid entered the study room.
"Go and ask Ariel to come here."
The maid left to do what she had been ordered to do.
Five minutes passed and Vista was still waiting. She frowned in impatience and was about to press intercom again to ask maid what happened when her phone buzzed again.
It was Henry this time, so she had to pick up the call.
"You never told me you had such a huge mess going on, Vista."
Henry spoke up as soon as she picked up the call. Vista's lips were pressed in a thin line.
"I told you that marriage is only for six months. You don't need to worry about anything. Your daughter will be returned to you in the same condition six months later."
"I am not worried about that at all. Do you think I don't understand what is going on? I am an old player in all this. Since I am providing such huge profits, should not you increase my profits as well?"
Vista's mouth parted slightly when she heard Henry's words.
"I have already promised you enough benefits. What else do you want?"
"Ten million....shouldn't be much for you after six months, right?"
Anger flashed in Vista's eyes. Sensing her silence, Henry chuckled on the other side and said
"Think about it. I can have my daughter be called back. I can do many more things to spoil your plans so you better accept my demands."
Her headache was returning. Vista pressed it again and said with gritted teeth.
"I will consider it."
Saying these words, she put down the phone immediately. Now she wanted peace for a few moments. However, god didn't seem to favour Vista because the next moment itself, the door was barged open and she received the exact opposite of peace and that was Ariel.
Seeing this audacity again, Vista couldn't even pretend to be cordial. Standing up from the chair she looked at Ariel with anger filled eyes and said loudly.
"You....don't you have some sense of knocking on the door before stepping inside the room?"
Ariel however ignored her anger and changed behaviour.
She has seen people changing colours like a chameleon. Vista was nothing new to her.
"Five million."
She said confidently making Vista look at her silently in confusion.
"What are you saying?"
Ariel dragged the nearest chair and sat on it. In her same baggy t-shirt and loose pants and with that smirk on her lips she looked more like an excited scoundrel who was ready to make money.
"You are giving ten millions to Henry for what? So that I can stay here nicely for six months, right? I will do that. He can't order me around and I will do it five millions. You don't need to give him anything at all. Just give me five millions after six months."
Vista squinted at Ariel but she seemed to be thinking about what Ariel was saying. As she slowly sat down on the chair, she considered everything.
Indeed, this was a good proposal.
She looked at Ariel again. This girl...could she really trust her?
In the end, wasn't she Henry's daughter?
Why would she help her instead of Henry?
As if she knew what was going on inside Vista's mind, Ariel started speaking while leaning against the chair.
"I am not staying with Mintzs since more than ten years now."
Vista raised her eyebrows at the new found information.
"Henry threw me out when I was ten and brought Ines and Adele in."
There was silence inside the study room. Ariel gave Vista enough time to consider her proposal while she took the glass of water from the study table and drank water calmly.
Finally, a minute later, Vista said
"Alright. I accept your proposal."
