A Press Conference

The constant flashes of camera blinded Ariel's eyes as soon as she stepped outside the car. The annoying long gown irritated her to the extreme. 

For five million! 

She repeated inside her head. 

To see Henry's defeated face. 

She again repeated inside her head. 

The two purpose were enough for her to feel motivated and put on a fake smile on her lips. From the other side of the car, Leon and Vista stepped forward. 

As they came to her side, she saw Vista putting Leon in both of them and then they were walking inside the building. 

Long story short was that Vista asked Ariel to accompany her to a press conference and now Ariel was supposed to everything according to the latter. 

It was a huge hall. On all the chairs below the high raised platform, Ariel saw many reporters already ready with their cameras. 

Her eyes unconsciously went to Leon as if she remembered how he had reacted to the sound of camera flashed in the wedding venue. He still looked uncomfortable and was holding Vista's arm tightly. 

She frowned not understanding why Vista had to do all this. 

They stepped on the platform and Ariel sat on one side of Leon while Vista on the other. Ariel flashed a roguish smile when the beauty glanced at her once and then hurriedly looked away. 

She then heard Vista introducing her to the media persons. 

Ariel smiled slightly like a perfect new bride. She even held Leon's arm to fake it more. Seeing the satisfaction in Vista's eyes, she was happy with herself. 

The beauty however looked uncomfortable and pushed her hand away. Fortunately, it was below the table and no one seemed to noticed that. 

Ariel made a disappointed expression seeing that the beauty was looking at her with awry eyes. Unfortunately, the beauty didn't seem to sympathise and looked away mercilessly. 

Till now, her focus has been on Leon mostly but at this moment, it was attracted by Vista who was saying 

"I am looking into what can be done. However, I can assure everyone that I will not let Millers Enterprise go down in any situation."

A reporter in the crowd of others suddenly stood up and asked Vista 

"But Miss MIller, It has been Mr. Leon Miller who has been managing the company after his grandfather's death Miss Leonard MIller. From your words, should we interpret that Mr. Leon will step down from his position. Is Mr. Adrian the new candidate for the CEO post of Miller Enterprise?"

Ariel understood everything the report said except one thing. Everything else was told to her by Adele also. However, who was this Adrian?

A moment later however, she shook her head. She should not be concerned about all this. It was not her business who will be getting Miller Enterprises. 

However, Vista's words still fell in her ears. 

"Of course not. Our Leon has handled everything with a great zeal. It's his hard work that Miller Enterprise is standing at the peak again after my father's death. Now when Leon is unable to comprehend what is going around him, Miller Enterprise will not leave him alone. I am trying my best to look for best doctors who will be able to cure him. In the meantime, I will manage Miller Enterprise in place of Leon. But as soon as he gets better, everything will be returned to him."

Ariel silently observed Vista who was saying these words. 

There was no emotion on her face. Perhaps somewhere she knew what was going on? Did she really want to be part of such a thing? 

People like Vista....didn't she despise them? 

Her eyes then went to Leon who didn't even know what was going on....what was being done with him. 

Because for sure, she didn't believe that everything would be returned to him regardless of whether he gets better or not. 

That's how things were complicated in rich families. Everything was about money. 

"Miss Ariel, I have a question for you."

Ariel came out of her thoughts when she heard a media person saying these words. She smiled politely giving him an indication to continue which he did. 

"Your decision to marry Mr. Leon...was it motivated by his background of Miller family? Since he is so rich, you don't mind that he is mentally unstable."

Ariel raised her eyebrow slightly however the smile never faded away from her lips. She leaned ahead slightly to go near the mike and spoke very softly. Perhaps no one who knew Ariel truly knew that she could speak like this. 

She resembled a lady from high society only. Elegant and beautiful. No one could predict that she had spent most of her life in slums. Perhaps this was the result of her years of observing these people and the things around them. 

"Mr....?"

"William."

The media person introduced himself and Ariel continued 

"Mr. William, unfortunately whatever you said are assumptions only. Till the moment I was walking down the aisle, I was not even aware who my groom is."

William frowned on hearing these words and other reporters also looked curious. 

"My father never told me who I was marrying. I was just told that I am supposed to arrive at this place and on this date. That's it."

Ariel shrugged as if that was the most normal thing bit clearly she knew what consequences her words had. 

On the other side of Leon, Vista's eyes flashed with victory as more reporters stood up to question Ariel. She never asked Ariel to bring Henry down but she didn't even mind what Ariel was doing. 

"Does that mean Mr. Mintz forced this marriage on you?"

"Well, yes you can say that. He was just looking out for me."

The last sentence seemed as if she was thanking her father. It made her look like a filial daughter. However, others were not stupid. 

If they noticed Ariel's filiality then they also now knew how a father pushed his daughter into a marriage where there was uncertainty. 

Who knew if Leon would get better?

For Henry to do such a thing, what might be the reason?
