He smirked again and whispered in his deeply seductive voice, “I like my name even more ever since I started hearing it from your beautiful lips. Healed

“How’s that boy? Cillian?” Everard asked his beta after closing the last file for the night. “Has he made any progress yet?” he asked, sounding guilty for almost causing someone’s death.

Jerome picked up the file that Everard had just closed so that he could take that to his own workroom. Then he answered while meeting Everard’s gaze, “All of his wounds have more or less healed. The doctor said that his lungs should have patched up as well.”

“That’s good.” Everard gave a nod.

There was still a deep frown lingering between his brows when he further probed, “And what about his um… his mental state? You mentioned earlier that he was still not responding properly and doesn’t want many people around him.”

“Unfortunately, he still seems to be in a state of shock.” Jerome also looked guilty for ever having approached that poor boy and bringing him bad luck when all that he was trying to do was help that boy get a place to belong.
