Chapter 3: Half-Blooded Demon's First Kill!

Oden could not believe, He was a monster now. He freakout, he could not come up with anything. Oden was blank and with no hope in his heart. He didn't understand what was going on, how did this even happen? He had gone with his dad to have dinner, for a family reunion. How did he become a monster?

Flashback!

When he was breathing the last few breaths of his life, he heard a voice. At that time, his vision was already lost. He could not feel or sense his body. He had lost his ability to think.

The voice

"Chaos is the one, stronger than gods, conqueror of hell, and the destroyer of heavens. Master of the gods, the Eternity King, who may shatter the world into pieces. To make laws and to break the old ones. The supreme one, to fully feel the desires.

I give you a chance to be the chaos in the world, I make you my son, do anything you desire."

Oden's memory was back to him, as he was going through his memories. A tear fell from his eyes, at the end he was betrayed by the one, he loved the most. He has lost all the things, his wealth, his name. He was staring at the monster in the water.  Oden saw his tears in the water reflection, the only thing he wanted was revenge; To make them pay to make him such a monster. 

One thing was in mind, he recalled one line from the voice. 'Do anything you desire'                          'To do anything, he likes'

He wasn't a human anymore, even if he stepped inside human society. He would be tortured and killed. There was no way he could live like a normal human. He looked at his reflection properly. His body had changed completely. He recalled his injuries and scratches. He checked and found, there was no scratch on his body. Not only that, the human body could not climb the mountain as he did, or get down so quickly. He was faster than humans. Plus, he had healing ability. This body was a hundred times better than a human body. 

A question appeared in his mind if he wasn't a human then what was he?                                        He wanted to know more about his body, is there a way to learn more about his body?

There was a word inside him as if his body was telling him to say that word. At first, he felt like it was just his institution, but he was cleared from the bottom of his heart, his body was reacting to the word. 

Oden whispered, "Status"

Ability: Predator, Recovery, Inspect

Oden went through his status, He was a demon, a half-blooded demon. He felt good seeing a lifespan of 200 years. Energy should be some kind of measurement of power. He looked at abilities. Recovery was his healing ability, he had a taste of it while he was climbing the mountain and getting down from it. 

Oden used to read books and manga when he was young. But he had felt it, to excel in science and to become a scientist. He guessed Inspect was related to knowing about the opponent's status or something like that, He was not sure. But his instinct told him, He was right.

But he didn't know what was the other ability, he had never heard such a name. He wondered if the ability needed some specific conditions to get triggered like the recovery ability or does he need to manually activate it. Oden was interested to know more about his ability. He was about to try shouting Predator. But he stopped, he was thirsty. Oden drank water, without checking how clean the water was. 

He shouted, 'predator' 

Oden saw that nothing happened, he didn't get depressed. If he had used recovery just like that, the skill would have done nothing. Predator skill may be the same. He needs a beast to check the skill on it. Oden would even try his Inspect skill. He should get familiar with his skills as not many people would be happy to see a demon around. In times of danger, only his skills would save him from danger.

Oden quietly waited for a while, hoping that a monster would come here to drink water and he would test his skills out. He sat far away from the lake so that none of the beasts could see him and ran away. Oden waited for hours, but none of the beasts came closer to him. Oden wondered what was wrong? 

Oden waited for a few more hours, the sun was setting now. He needed to hurry and find food, He wasn't hungry at all. But still, he needed to prepare just in case. As no one would be near the lake, it was meaningless to wait over there. He should search for beasts, it will be far better than sitting and passing time. 

Oden got up and turned around, his eyes fell on a giant bat. He smiled as he saw a giant bat, who was hanging upside down on a tree. He quickly used inspect the beast, hoping to get some information about the monster. 

'Inspect'

Territorial Bat

Energy: 10

Skills: territory, poison bite

The skill worked!

Energy is 10? Oden observed the giant bat. 

Seeing the energy, Oden knew it was better than him in some parameters. But he won't leave the giant bat. Even if it was stronger, Oden had an advantage, he had the recovery skill. But Oden was hesitating, it was going to be his first kill. Somewhere, his scientist instinct was stopping him from taking the risk. 

'I can not do it ' Oden decided.

Oden was about to leave the place. The bat flew towards him, its big mouth was semi-open. The giant bat was attacking Oden. 

Oden quickly jumped to the other side, he dodge the bat. The bat was too fast, even if he runs. The bat would catch him. He had to fight the bat. Oden got up and looked at the bat. 

The giant bat was coming towards him, this time it was going to scratch Oden with its legs. Oden punched the bat. The bat fell on the ground, Oden got a deep scratch on his hand. But he didn't care about the wound as his recovery skill would heal the wound. The only thing he wanted was to kill the bat. As the bat was fallen on the ground, Oden punched the bat and shouted

"Predator"

Nothing happened, but he didn't want to give me a chance to bat. Oden's face fell a little, he still wondered what kind of conditions the skill needed?. 

Oden punched it more, he saw the bat was not able to fight on the ground. Oden grabbed one of the bat's wings and threw the giant bat onto a tree. The tree was shattered into pieces. Oden ran towards the bat and jumped on the bat with his knees facing its body. Oden didn't stop over there. He continued punching the bat. 

Oden used a predator, once again. 

Again nothing happened but after a second. 

The bat was slowly turning into black smoke and getting inside Oden's body. Oden was blank seeing it, he was not even sure whether it was his skill predator or the bat was doing something to him. In a minute, the bat's whole body had turned into smoke and was getting absorbed by Oden. Oden was a little scared. 

The smoke was getting inside Oden's body through his skin. Soon, all the smoke had gone inside his body. Oden didn't feel wrong. But he didn't understand, why did the smoke go inside his body?

Something clicked in his mind, he ordered "Status"

STATUS

Oden Chaos

Race: Half-blooded demon

Energy: 10

Ability: Predator, Recovery, Inspect, territory 

Oden smiled seeing his energy had increased, He felt good. At the same time, he saw a new ability just next to other abilities. He got the ability from the giant bat!

Oden was shocked, he never imagined predator to be such an amazing ability. If he could get abilities by killing monsters, very soon he was going to be a scary being. Was every demon as scary as him? Are there even demons, other than him? They will be scary!

Leaving everything aside, Oden used his new skill territory. He wished that this skill didn't have any conditions to trigger. "Territory"

As soon as he said, Oden felt like something had gone away from his body, he felt a little weird as if his body was releasing something in all directions. He checked his body, but nothing had happened. He felt like banging his head as the skill needed some conditions too. He needs to find the conditions. But in the next second, something happened. 

Oden felt like he could tell the position of everything around him. He closed his eyes and he could imagine everything in his surroundings, the ants under the ground, even the fishes swimming in the button of the lake. Oden understood a bit about the skill. Normal bats would use ultrasonic sound to sense the objects in front of them, the skill was almost the same. But Oden wasn't producing ultrasonic sounds, he was producing something, he was not sure. Oden could tell about moving objects and the position of everything in his surroundings. 

He could imagine the ants below him, the fish swimming in the water and even the birds hiding in the next with their kids next to them. It was an amazing ability. He was going to play with the ability as he didn't feel hungry. 

He could draw a map in his mind, with this ability.
