4 Chapter 4: Core Shape-Shifting Mask

Oden had practiced his territory skill throughout the night. After researching the place for a few hours. He was able to say his location.

He was in the country of Crifiza which was to the west of Baklime, the country where he lived. He was in the forest of lightning Fiza. This forest was known for lightning wolves. The lightning wolves were orange-level creatures. They were known for their stunning ability.

The ability could stun any creature for 2 seconds. The damage done by the ability was also good but the stun was terrific…if a hunter went to kill a lone wolf. But got stunned even once, his life was over in 2 seconds. That's why no one wanted to catch the lightning wolves. Another reason was they always go in a pack…people were afraid of one wolf, imagine what will happen if there were tens of wolves.

The lighting forest of Fiza was also known for its shape-shifting chameleons, normal chameleons would change colors but these would change their forms like they can become a cat, a wolf, or even a monster.

Oden had worked on his energy the past night. Now he was able to control his energy. earlier, when he was waiting for the creatures at the lake, Due to his energy leaks…the creatures were scared of him, and no one came near him. After he had mastered his energy, the creature were roaming freely. He was only able to guess this by watching the creatures in his territory skill. When there were leaks, the creatures could go towards the outline of the circle, far from away from the center where Oden was.

Oden found a lone lighting wolf not far away from him. He always wanted to test his powers to see….how strong he was. Without wasting time, he ran and jumped from the mountain towards the direction of the wolf. He wasn't sacred to falling because he can quickly recover with his ability. It was a 4-second fall. He caught a branch to not clash on the ground... when he caught the branch his arm muscle was pulled. But it didn't take him much time to recover. Ignoring the muscle pull, he ran towards the lighting wolf.

The distance between them was less than a kilometer. Oden used Inspect skill.

Shape-shifting Chameleon

'What a chameleon?'

Oden didn't react. Seeing the chameleon and its ability, he thought about using predator.

The lone wolf, who was a chameleon, saw him and started running. But it wasn't fast compared to Oden.

In a minute,

Oden reached near the chameleon and hit him on the head.

The wolf fell on the ground. He felt something came toward him from its body and went inside Oden's body. it was a power transmission.

[Core shape-shifting mask gained]

Oden could feel that something circular was inside his body and was shining. He was able to see inside his body. More specifically, it was inside his brain.

He thought about it.

What was it ? some kind of attack?

He looked at the wolf. It was dead.

Oden tried to bring the core out. The core inside his body came out in his hand. It was in the form of a mask. It looks like a wooden mask.

He concentrated on the mask.

Core:

Shape-shifting mask

Energy: 1

A Core? It has an ability inside. Oden knew about Core which are the energy sources of beasts. But he didn't hear of ability being inside of a core.

Oden wears the mask. The mask changed its shape according to his face.

It was far more comfortable than a normal mask.

He thought about turning into a human.

He felt as if there was another layer added to his skin. He runs to the lake to check his new face.

When he looked into the lake…. He saw himself. His human form…how he looked when he was human. Still, there were some places where the red skin was visible. Only his face looked human properly.

He tried to imagine someone else face. It worked. he was able to take the form of any other human. he was able to shape-shift into any creature he wanted. But there were some of the demon traits still visible like the redness of the skin in some places and red eyes.

Professional Hunters could still guess something was wrong with his face and skin. Oden did not want this. ' they will be able to catch me if I go wearing this. I should look like a proper human.'

Oden thought about something and was ready to try it out.

He took the mask on his hand and... 'PREDATOR'

The mask turned into smoke and was absorbed by his body.

It worked…

Oden saw his abilities.

Ability: Predator, Recover, Inspect, Territory, Shape-Shifting.

'Shape-Shift'

This time it wasn't like a layer added to his body. It was more like his body changed its shape. It felt as if his blood was changing a little. When he looked himself in the water he was looking better than his past human form.. the ability didn't just replicate it. But also made it better. Now, no one could say Oden was a demon.

He tried to change into different creatures and it was working…. He felt as if there were real creatures inside the lake and they were playing with him as he saw his image changing in the water.

'It's time to go back home.' After staying a night in the forest, he was able to make out where the nearest city was. Without wasting more time he ran towards the city.

Of cause, he wasn't in a hurry. But he wanted to check his stamina.

When he was running he saw a litter of pups. He looked around, there wasn't any lighting wolf guarding them. They were playing around and they also looked cute. So, he took one and again ran in the direction of his destination.

The pup in his arm. It was enjoying the speed. His tongue was out in the air. As it was enjoying, he increased his speed.
