Cold Advice (2)

After the interaction with her Mother, Ming walked to her room and she placed her arms on her desk chair and she groaned. Her navy blue hair hidden her gold eyes as she was deep in thought. She was extremely hurt by her Mother's words, but she understood what she needed to do. She needed to salvaged her reputation. Despite her Mother's cold words, Ming knew that her Mother was right. She needed to fix her reputation and she needed to manage the damage that her reputation was hit with. She couldn't stop rumors from being spread, but she could act like she was still a high-class citizen, even though she was just a poor young woman. Her Mother's business didn't help her increase her social status, instead it only boosted her Mother's social status.

Her Mother had let her popularity get into her head and she thought she ruled the world. Granted, she does rule the business world, but she didn't rule Ming's world. She was always a business woman first and mother second and she didn't even act like a mother when Ming needed her. Fei thought that since because she was famous then her daughter could be famous, but she wanted her daughter to follow in her footsteps, but Ming didn't like paperwork nor did she like sitting in an office all day.

She had almost disowned Ming after Ming told her that she will never work in an office, but she had bit her tongue to prevent her pride from saying the wrong things as she didn't want to lose her daughter. Ming was sticking to her decision to never work in an office, but the words that she told Fei made Fei hurt much worse. "I will never in any of your offices." These were the words spoken when Fei had asked Ming to pick an office to work in. They were all hers and Ming didn't want no part in any of them.

Ming clinched her fists, thinking up of a way to help salvage her reputation. She knew that the wedding will be big news for a while, but she didn't particularly care about that gossip as she knew that her reputation wasn't the only one damaged by the refusal of the marriage. She wouldn't believe that she was taking her mother's cold advice. "I can't believe that I'm taking her advice. Her of all people." Ming whispered to herself, feeling very agitated at the moment. She couldn't leave however because of the heavy gossip about the wedding. Ming wanted to wait for the day to pass until she shows herself in public to show that the non existing marriage didn't ruin her.

Ming got ready for bed and she climbed into her bed, wanting for a miracle to happen because the last thing she wanted to do was work alongside her mother. Ming didn't even know of her own feelings towards her mother. She adored and loved her at one point, but she was a child back then. Nowadays, she has seen how cruel her mother could be, even to her own only daughter. Ming released a heavy breath that she didn't know that she was holding and she placed her head on her black pillow. Her nightgown covered her entire body, yet she still shivered as she relaxed into a dreamless rest.

While she was sleeping, her mother and father were having a very huge argument. "What the hell were you thinking? Accusing Ming of treason?" Her father shouted at his wife. The woman gave him a cold smile.

"Well, I thought-." She was interrupted when her husband glared at her. She was in shock because her husband had ever gave her such a steely glare.

"You thought nothing." He hissed, walking away from her. Fei became angry with him walking away from her.

"Don't you dare walk away from me!" She hissed back and her husband turned to her again, his glare remaining, but it seemed to be even colder than before.

"You don't own me, Mrs. Xing." He told her harshly, brushing past her. "Don't forget that you don't love me." He reminded her coldly, walking away from her. Fei was shocked. She had forgotten that she had even told him that and guilt welled up in her being, but she ignored it.

She had worked hard to get where she had gotten and she wanted to keep it, damn it!

Well, Fei isn't being a good daughter, wife or mother, huh? Please tell me your thoughts on this chapter. Tell me what I need to improve on, please.
