Chapter 16: For the Good of the Pack
Blake’s features change as he processes what Autumn just said.
Autumn continues, but she makes sure to soften her voice and tries not to sound too pushy. “I know you and Liam don’t get along, but using your lab to try and treat his pack will help your pack as well,” she explains.
Autumn wishes he would say something. Anything would be better than the silence you can cut with a knife.
“The longer his pack goes untreated the more likely it is that the virus will make its way here,” she concludes.
Blake sits on the edge of the tub with his head down, staring into the water. He turns his face up and looks Autumn in the eyes. “I can’t, Autumn. There’s no way I can justify helping Liam and his pack. If the virus turns up here, we will deal with it,” he finally replies.
