Thor Aftermath

POV Odin

A few days after the Bifrost was destroyed I was in my room with Frigga trying to come to an agreement on what to do.

Odin: "We have no choice but to accept the treaty they have offered."

Frigga: "If we sign it as it is we will lose almost everything you spent centuries fighting to make."

Odin: "I am still injured and I won't wake up from another Odinsleep. I can't leave to bring the realms back under control as long as this Frieza Force exists. If their leader is stronger than Ginyu which I find likely then as I am now I might not be able to beat them. With all the nations backing the 8 Realms independence, we would have to fight a brutal and costly war. We have almost no money left and much of our weapons and materials are also gone. If we went to war it would take a decade or more to end and I am not confident we would win. I know for a fact I won't live that long."

Frigga: "Sigh. With what Loki did they will ask for more. What if they ask for us to give up Asgard itself."

Odin: "Then we will resist but I highly doubt they would. Loki that fool not only revealed our greatest weapon but also caused its destruction. Even if we rebuild it I don't think it will have the same power as the original. Without the Bifrost, we are not only unable to move our troops fast but we also lost our greatest bargaining chip. You are right that they will ask for more but I see no other alternative than to accept."

Frigga: "How do we tell them we wish to accept the terms without the Bifrost? Our ships are far too slow to reach Jotunheim before the deadline."

Before I could answer I heard a voice.

???: "That won't be necessary I sensed when you accepted the terms."

I grab Gungnir and aim at the intruder. He wears a red robe with its hood up. I cannot see through the shadow of the hood and only see glowing yellow eyes. If feel strangely no threat or danger from this individual. In fact, I felt nothing from them as if they weren't there.

Odin: "Who are you and how do you get in here?"

Sidious: "You may call me Sidious. I am technically not here. This is a projection from the document I gave Loki. If I sensed you were ready to negotiate I would be able to project myself here so we could speak."

Odin: "Then you are the one who spoke with Loki before."

Sidious: "Indeed I am but first are you aware the treaty's conditions have changed?"

Odin: "Yes, I know my son's actions have done great harm, and as such, I am willing to accept the punishment for these transgressions. I only want peace for Asgard."

Sidious: "Good, I will have a ship come to grab someone to sign the treaty. They will leave a communication device behind so you can constantly contact whoever is sent. Our group would prefer you to send Thor as he is the next King of Asgard so the treaty can be as legitimate as possible. I know you cannot leave Asgard due to a recent attack by the Frieza Force, so I offer said compromise."

Odin: "How do you know of the attack?"

Sidious: "Oh I know lots of things. LOTS OF THINGS."

His voice becomes chilling and I feel as if my body has just dropped into the deepest depths of Jotunheim. I shiver and decide to ignore the topic.

Odin: "I see. When can we expect the ship to arrive?"

Sidious: "In 2 days. Try not to attack it or else it will fire back. It looks like this."

He shows a projection of a strange vessel that looks like a long rectangle of a grey color.

Odin: "I will let my people know."

Sidious: "I shall meet you in person in 2 days."

The projection ended and I sighed as the stress of the situation we were in was exhausting.

Odin: "I should go announce so our citizens don't panic and our soldiers don't cause problems."

Frigga hugs me and accompanies me.

2 Days Later...

I waited at the docks to meet this Sidious in person because I didn't want them to attack my city with their vessel. Once the small shuttle landed I came face to face with Sidious and I couldn't help but feel something wrong about this person. I felt a strange cold follow him and I felt that if I fought his as I was I might not win.

Odin: "It seems we meet at last Sidious. I hope your journey here was not uncomfortable."

Sidious: "Yes it seems so and it was fine. We best not leave the other realms to wait for too long. Is Thor ready?"

Odin: "He shall be here any moment."

As I said that I heard Thor approaching. I turned and saw he was wearing an article of more diplomatic clothing instead of his armor. I smile at his choice. Thor then gives a slight bow.

Thor: "It is an honor to meet you, Representative Sidious."

Sidious: "Yes it is nice to meet you as well Thor Odinson. Now we must get going as we mustn't make the others wait."

Then Sidious waved his hands and a strange automaton came forward with a small device. It hands it to me and I take it.

Sidious: "Press the button on the device and it will call the communicator that is paired with Thor's. It will ring if Thor is trying to call you. Press the left side button to answer and the right side button to end a call."

Odin: "Thank you for the gift."

Sidious: "If the treaty is signed and ratified then the BCA will come to install a more comprehensive communication suite so you can stay in contact with other star nations and the other realms."

Thor seems to perk up at that.

Thor: "Can this suite you speak of contact Midgard?"

Sidious: "Yes but I caution you as interfering with them could make the individual you contact become a target of the early civilization on the planet of Earth. The one contacted would also need a special device or terminal to establish a connection."

Thor: "I see. Thank you for answering my question."

Sidious nods and it takes little time for Thor and his escorts to get on the main ship and leave.

Odin: "Heimdall are you able to keep an eye on them?"

Heimdall: "Yes my king."

I see his eyes widen.

Odin: "What happened?"

Heimdall: "They have already left the system. The speed of the ship is very impressive. Fighting it would be very unwise. Especially this Sidious character."

Odin: "Why is that?"

Heimdall: "I cannot see him even when he was in front of me. My instinct also told me he could kill me easily."

Odin: "I shall have to have faith Thor will return safely."

1 Day Later

POV Thor

We had just landed on the planet the negotiations were to be held. According to what I was told the planet selected was an uninhabited and unclaimed world. Due to this, it is considered neutral ground. I looked at the other representatives and I saw a few familiar faces. The one I was most surprised to see was the mysterious friend from Earth. I didn't approach him immediately and instead, I took my seat where the Asgardian delegation was to sit.

Sidious: "Let us begin this conference for the negotiations of the 8 Realms Independence."

Several Hours Of Negotiations Later...

Sidious: "The terms of the Treaty of Yggdrasil are as follows."

1. All Asgardian forces must withdraw from all Realms except Asgard within 1 month of this treaty being signed.

2. Asgard will grant and fully recognize the independence of all Realms.

3. Asgard will abandon all claims to previously held territories except Asgard itself.

4. Asgard is forbidden from sending troops or personnel to any planet other than Asgard. If Asgard wants to move troops they must get prior approval of the planet in question and unless it is a time-sensitive situation must further get approval from a committee of representatives of each of the nine realms.

5. Members of the nine realms are permitted to trade with each other but if either Asgard or another nation should try to coerce to threaten to get more favorable deals then the nine realms will sanction said violater after a committee is held.

6. Asgard must pay a total of 1 Trillion Galactic Credits to Jotunheim for the attack by Thor Odinson and the attempted genocide of their species and planet. These payments will be monthly unless previously agreed upon by both realms. Further, no interest will be made on said owed amount but it must be paid in 10 years or less. Extension can be given if both realms agree. Payments can be halted under extreme circumstances or if both realms agree. If Asgard or Jotunhem believe the other is being unfair they can bring the issue to a committee to be judicated.

7. Asgard is forbidden from constructing any planet-killing weapons. They are permitted to construct another Bifrost if it can pass an inspection by the other realms.

8. Any violations of this treaty can result in punishments ranging from fines to all-out war and everything in between.

9. This treaty is bound to Yggdrasil and the very essence of the Asgardian Royal Family. Breaking this treaty knowingly will result in total loss of divine power making them no better than an average Midgardian. This includes Hela when she is released from her imprisonment. If a non-member of Odin's bloodline should breach this treaty then a minimum punishment of 1 year imprisonment or equivalent must be enforced. A world can choose to drop any charges against violators but the minimum sentence must still be enforced. Should a world that was a victim press charges then a Tribunal will be formed to dole out punishments for violations of the treaty.

Sidious: "Does everyone accept these terms."

Everyone nods including myself.

Sidious: "Then we shall begin the signing."

Everyone signs it or records themselves as witnesses to the treaty. After it is signed I go to talk to my friend from Midgard as I learned he is the representative from Midgard.

Thor: "My friend, I was surprised to see you here. Though I would like to know your name."

Rio: "My name is Rio and I didn't share my name before as I am somewhat known on Earth and didn't want to be known in that way."

Thor: "I want to ask you if you could send a message to Jane."

Rio: "I see no problem in doing that. I can protect her while you are away as I know the Bifrost is destroyed. I can also set up a communication device so you can speak and see each other."

Thor: "Really?! I would be in your debt. I also wanted to know if I could negotiate access to Midgard."

Rio: "I can allow you to travel to Earth as long as you send a message ahead of time. Moreover, only you will be allowed and I can say no at any time and you must respect that. Lastly, you are not to use your powers on Earth unless I approve. Humans aren't quite ready for people like you. Understood?"

Thor: "I swear on my name that I will not breach this agreement."

We shook our hands and we made sure the other representatives heard us so they understood the agreement.

Authors Note:

Asgard is now basically crippled and won't be making any moves. Thor will reappear again but it might not be for a couple of years. Also in case you were curious yes Rio was manipulating the events from the beginning so this would be the result. Odin can no longer leave Asgard for several reasons making Rio able to move more freely. I hope you enjoyed the chapter and until next time Ciao.
