Thor

I decided to check on Thor and see what he was up to. I nearly facepalm as I see him calling an old woman a hag.

'I don't even blame Odin for sending him away. Shouldn't he know the most basic of etiquette when talking to someone? You never call someone old. Most people don't like being called old.'

I wince as I see the old lady hit Thor in the balls with her purse. Thor drops to the ground with a squeal. I may feel sympathy pain but I still think he had it coming. I move to watch what Loki is doing.

'Hmm, he seems to be trying to stabilize Asgard for now. I can't take the Destroyer Armor until Thor deactivates it. I don't want to fight Asgard personally and the Armor is a bit difficult to deactivate unless it is done by an Asgardian. Let's see if the Force can tell me when he will get involved.'

I submerse myself in the Force to try and find an answer to my question. I end up seeing many things. The Destroyer, Meridia, Odin, and a massive fleet of starships.

'Hmm, Loki will send the Destroyer in around a week or so. I will need to be ready to give my terms to Loki when he comes to Earth. Beyond that, I can go inspect Mjølnir and see if I am 'worthy' whatever that may mean.'

I open a Gate to the crater and see some only a couple of people have set up around here and Shield hasn't arrived yet. I use some simple Force persuasion to make everyone go home while I am here. I also make sure no one is watching and that everyone has finally left before I approach Mjølnir. I look at it and make sure there are no traps before I grab the handle. I pull and the hammer comes loose quite easily. A massive lightning storm appears and armor covers me and I feel the power Mjølnir wields.

Rio: "I am sorry but I can not take you with me. Thor will soon come to wield you again."

Mjølnir hums in response and I set it down. It seems sad but I only came here to learn what I wanted and had no intention of taking the hammer. The armor vanishes after a little bit and I leave the crater. I go to the nearby town in Jedi robes. I decided to talk with Thor. Once I arrive it doesn't take long for Thor to notice me as everyone else around me is unable to perceive me.

Thor: "Are you a sorcerer?"

Rio: "Not quite but not far off."

Jane: "Who are you talking to?"

Thor: "Can you see him?"

Jane looks at me but doesn't see me so I allow her to see me.

Jane: "AHH! Where did you come from?"

Rio: "I was always here I just allowed you to see me."

Jane: "How? And Who are you?"

Rio: "I have powers that many would consider unnatural. As for my name, it is irrelevant for now. I have come here to speak with Thor."

Thor: "Why have you come to speak with me?"

Rio: "I know of your reason for being here and I can transport you to Mjølnir but I warn you what you find may not be the answers you seek."

Thor: "Where is it? Take me there now!"

Rio: "Ms. Foster I will return with Thor later."

Jane: "Oh okay. Wait how did you know my name?"

Jane looked at me but Thor and I had already disappeared. A ways away I reappear with Thor at the crater.

Rio: "There it is but be warned what you seek may not happen as you think it will."

Thor rushes to Mjølnir with only a simple thanks. I watch as the weather changes and Thor approaches Mjølnir. He grabs Mjølnir but cannot move it. As it pours rains and lighting fills the sky Thor screams and kneels. I approach him.

Thor: "I am unworthy. I have lost my powers completely. Even Mjølnir has forsaken me."

Rio: "It seems that is the case. You have completed the first step. You have acknowledged your failings. Now learn from them."

Thor stands up. I can still sense great sadness but I can feel a spark of hope buried deep within himself.

Thor: "I will. Thank you for taking me here. How can I repay you?"

Rio: "You're welcome and there is no need. I brought you here to satisfy my curiosity. Though we should leave here."

I take Thor back to Jane.

Jane: "Oh your back. I saw the strange weather and we were about to drive out to investigate it."

Rio: "Ms. Foster that would be most unwise. A secretive group is on its way now and I suggest you either flee or hide your research as I assure you they will take everything you have and maybe more."

Jane: "Wait what? Who is coming here and how do you know what they will do?"

Rio: "The group coming here is called Shield and I know what they will do as they have done so before and they will do it again. Now I am afraid I must go I have matters I must attend to. Goodbye Thor and Ms. Foster I imagine I will see you soon. If you need me call this number and I will come."

Jane: "Wait! And he's gone already. Who was that guy?"

Thor: "A very powerful person. I don't know who they are exactly but they are a friend to me."

I arrive at the Hearth and start making preparations for the dissolution of the nine realms. Everyone will become independent. I just needed to get signatures from the Kree and Nova and I could basically guarantee Asgard would agree. However, Asgard will only agree when there is no other alternative.

'Loki is an opportunistic individual but he would never agree to the terms we set forth. But I can make it so he will convince Odin to sign it instead. That way Loki would see it as him taking the reigns from an incompetent leader. That could work. I also need to go convince the numerous realms to secede.'

Rio: "Sigh, Well I better get going."

A Week Later...

POV Thor

I was doing some chores to help Jane and her friends when I noticed Loki.

Thor: "Loki? What are you doing here?"

Loki: "I had to see you."

Thor: "What's happened? Tell me is it Jotunheim? Let me explain to Father."

Loki: "Father is dead."

Thor: "What?"

Loki: "Your banishment, a threat of a new war, and the attack on Asgard. The stress and injuries were too much to bear. The burden of the throne has fallen to me now."

I have to sit down from the sorrow I feel.

Thor: "Can I come home?"

Loki: "The truce with Jotunheim was conditional on your exile."

Thor: "Yes but couldn't we find a way..."

Loki: "And Mother has forbidden your return. This is goodbye brother. I'm so sorry."

Thor: "No. I am sorry. Thank you for coming here."

Loki: "Farewell."

POV Rio

I had just got confirmation that Loki had appeared on Earth and I went to go meet him in my Sidious disguise. I find Loki trying to lift Mjølnir and after he fails I let my presence be known.

Rio: "Loki I have come here on behalf of Jotunheim and the other realms. Do you have time to discuss?"

Loki: "Who are you? I can't even tell what you are. I am certain Midgardians don't have glowing yellow eyes."

Rio: "You may call me Sidious as for what I am. That is irrelevant. Are you willing to discuss terms?"

Loki: "Yes but I would rather not do it here."

Rio: "Follow me then."

I take us to a simple house where we sit down at a table and I bring out a datapad with a copy of the terms and a document. I hand the document to Loki while I use the datapad.

Rio: "That document has what is asked for. I will just state out front that they want the complete removal of all Asgardian forces from all realms besides Asgard and an agreement that Asgardian forces will not invade any of the realms. Beyond that, they want complete independence from Asgard."

Loki: "This is unacceptable, I could never sign this. Moreover, why would I even consider such ridiculous terms."

Rio: "Because they have got the support and signatures of the Nova and Kree Empires and support from 4000 other planets and factions."

Loki: "What! That's impossible. The Kree would never support independence."

I show him the documents and his face goes a little pale as he realizes the situation Asgard is in.

Rio: "Before you panic I wish to offer you a way to keep your position while still being able to avoid war. All you have to do is get Odin to sign it. If he does it then abdicate the throne your rule will be untarnished by such a treaty. Odin conquered the 9 realms with his daughter so let him dismantle it as well."

Loki: "Daughter? Odin doesn't have a daughter."

Rio: "Oh you didn't know? It seems I have said a secret you weren't told. My apologies. You can take that copy with you and consult Lady Frigga on what to do. I will tell you that the current agreement put forth is very lenient to Asgard. It will also avoid losing troops in a war that you can't feasibly win. Especially not when Asgard is so weakened."

I get up and start to leave.

Loki: "I will look into this. How long do I have to make a decision."

Rio: "They want an answer of any kind in an Asgardian month or less."

Loki leaves and I do as well. I return to the Hearth to watch what is about to happen.

'Let's see if Loki waits to remove Thor.'

Loki seemed to ignore the document I gave him for now. It turns out Loki only waits a day to deploy the Destroyer after Sif and the Warrior Three leave Asgard. Heimdall didn't have to betray Loki as he was still injured and thus couldn't stop them. Before the Destroyer lands I had used my powers to make everyone but Thor's group and Shield leave. I sent a Shadow Clone to collect the Destroyer once it is deactivated. I watch as Thor becoms worthy to wield Mjolner again.

'I can still feel a slight connection to Mjolner. Interesting.'

The battle ends fairly quickly once Thor regains his power and as I expected they leave the Destroyer alone. That allows the clone to quickly steal the Armor. Shield is left with nothing and I get 5 Million points.

'Now comes the dangerous part of the plan.'

The next part of plan B included a full power attack from the Bifrost. This would allow for concessions to be given to Jotenheim at only the cost of slight damage to their planet. Which is fine as I had already showed them a suitable replacement. Sure enough exactly as I predicted happened. Loki attempted to destroy Jotunheim but Thor destroyed the Bifrost to save them. Loki was then considered dead leaving Odin to take the reins of a devastated Asgard and a deal that will have to be renegotiated as they have lost their superweapon.

'All according to planned.'

Asgard is in quite the bad situation but that's what happens when you stagnate. The next chapter will be about the aftermath of this incident. The events happening a year or so early but this will likely change little. The Chitauri might happen a year early or not. I hope you enjoyed the chapter and until next time Ciao.
