Chapter 4

-[Wynne]-

Standing in front of the tall general, he hid his frown. He considered himself good at reading people and could say that he didn't like the man.

It wasn't anything personal. The man was so arrogant and confident in his military power and machines that the robotic army he brought to Beacon was turned against him.

He was also a paranoid control freak, something that didn't appeal to him.

"It's nice to finally meet you. Winter has told me some things about you." Ironwood returned his greeting.

"Good things I hope?" Wynne asked with a small laugh.

"Indeed. Unfortunately she had other duties to attend to so she couldn't be here." The general said in an apologetic manner.

Before Wynne could respond, the familiar voice of Jacques came from behind him.

"James, how nice of you to attend. I certainly hope you're not attempting to take another heir of mine into your army." Jacques said, now standing in front of the general in what Wynne recognized as his fake smile.

Well the man had been giving fake smiles all night seeing as how he didn't actually care about any of the people here.

"I have no such intentions, Jacques. I was merely interested in seeing the young man who would be succeeding you." Ironwood defended.

"If you would excuse me, I need to find my sister." Wynne said, excusing himself from the tension that the two men were exuding.

He wasn't bothered by it but he wasn't interested in it either.

The rest of the night was uneventful with nothing of interest happening other than escaping a few female advances.

When they returned to the Schnee manor, Jacques immediately retreated to his office to do whatever it was he did at this time.

Wynne on the other hand had something important to do. While writing the codes for his games, he hit an unexpected snag. The snag being the visual appeal of the game.

Mario was easy to create because even a child could draw it accurately enough but for what he was going for, he needed to acquire more advanced skill sets.

While the simple solution could be to just hire people with those skill sets, he also had to acknowledge the fact that the Schnee family had a lot of enemies and he wouldn't be surprised to find his work all leaked.

He basically didn't trust anyone other than himself to do the work. A bad trait? Maybe he stood by it.

"Weiss, I need your help with something." He said as they made their way through the manor.

"Sure. What is it?" She asked, eager to help as always.

"You remember when I said I planned on going big?" He asked, getting a nod from her. "Well there are a few other things I need to learn before I can make that happen and you can help me with that."

"How?" Her confusion was understandable.

"Your time dilation glyphs. How long can you maintain them?" He asked, raising her confusion even more.

"I guess if I'm not focusing on anything else…a while? What does that have to do with you making games?"

It had everything to do with it. He was going to fully utilize his accelerated learning ability, using it while under the effect of a time dilation glyph to learn in an even shorter amount of time.

"That's insane." She said as they reached his room. He had just explained it to her, obviously leaving out the part about his accelerated learning.

"It's doable. Please Weiss, I need you to help me with this." He pleaded.

He didn't trust something not to go wrong if he attempted to do it himself with his low mastery of the glyphs so until then, he had to rely on Weiss.

Weiss didn't last more than a few seconds before she caved with a sigh. "Fine, I'll help."

"And that's why you're my favorite sister." He said, giving her a short hug as they entered the room.

Beside the bed were three suitcases filled with lightning dust that he had someone deliver to his room before they left.

At his desk were stacks of books about animation and 3d modeling which he had also prepared beforehand.

"That's…a lot of books." Weiss muttered in slight shock.

Wynne only smirked. "Then we'd better get started."

Opening the first suitcase, Weiss took out a lightning dust crystal as a white and golden glyph formed under Wynne who smirked as he felt the effects.

'Now this is what you call grinding.'

Two weeks, that was what it took. Under the constant effect of the time dilation glyph, it took about a week to thoroughly finish the books and another week to implement what he had learnt.

After he finished learning, he spent the second week still under the effect of dilation glyph as he finished up the game. As for the voice acting for the characters, he had the butlers and staff in the manor recite them, paying them for their services.

The surprised looks on their faces when he asked rather than ordered them to do it was funny as well the shock that came after he paid them, though they were to keep the payment part a secret from Jacques.

That was something that the faunus among the staff were especially glad to do.

The game itself was done, with only a few minor touches remaining but that didn't stop Weiss who was currently sitting on his bed.

"This is amazing!" She exclaimed, her eyes not leaving her scroll as she played the game.

Like he promised, she would be the first to play it and safe to say, she was in love with it. "Was there ever any doubt?" He asked rhetorically.

Seeing as he was the only one with the game available, she was playing against bots rather than actual people.

"Now for the final part." He said, pulling the scroll from her hand.

"Hey!" She tried to grab it only for him to hide it behind him.

"We're not done yet. It's time for the final piece." He said as she folded her arms with a huff.

"And what's that?"

He only smirked. "The soundtrack of course. Songs you will be singing, that is if you're interested."

Her annoyed look disappeared as literal stars appeared in her eyes, causing him to chuckle. "Yes!" She instantly agreed.
