Getting serious

(A/N: Next chapter, a summary of events would end this small fighting they had, and back to lemons for y'all)

Ren jumped to the side as fast as he could possibly do and dodged an incoming sharp stinger that was aiming at his back.

*Boom*

He was flying rapidly using both his wind trait and flight skill and didn't care about the explosion behind him. It was a combination that would require a lot of mana, but at this time, he didn't mind the consumption, and also since he had plenty to work with.

The stinger hitting the ground was like a heated knife slicing through butter. But the impact itself wrecked the ground and showed just how much strength an SS rank was packing inside of their bodies.

Ren didn't stop and look though, he just continued flying until he could no longer feel the presence of the old man and boss monster.

He didn't want to be in the range of a fight where just a casual move of theirs can destroy him.

He was a fighting maniac, but not a suicidal person.

When he finally was a big enough distance from them, he finally switched from his passive defending point and started attacking.

A cold glint passed through his eyes before he then started.

*Fouish*

Wind energy gathered on his legs as he just stepped on the ground, he turned abruptly and then kicked the ground and wrecked it before he shot at a nearby monster. Also, simultaneously he had dodged an attack that was made on his previous position.

*Bam*

Amidst the explosion, his figure had already reached another Scorpion that was still crawling and following him at a fast speed.

Ren couldn't afford to hesitate at this moment, as such he gave the attack plenty of mana.

Unsurprisingly, he chose to attack using his Ventus ability since currently, it was his most offensive means to attack.

He could enhance his attacks via haki, and he could deal a frontal attack with his weapons, but… his strength was only S rank and not enough to damage these monsters.

And even though his Ventus trait wasn't ranked high, it still became rank A after the last time he had some fun with Robin.

This was his current status, and if he poured his SS rank magic to his Ventus trait, his power would shoot out immediately and would be able to hurt a similarly ranked person like him.

It would just consume much more than it should.

But he didn't care.

The wind churned and turned around his hand before Ren reached the scorpion and then punched with a black arm coated in haki.

His wind exploded in a circular motion as it encompassed the tens of meters huge scorpion.

(A/N: Similar to Garo's attack he copied from bang's brother)

*Ting* *ting*

Amidst metal clashing sounds, gashes resulted on the armored shell of the huge scorpion as the wind was sent infused with haki for further damaging power.

The monster roared in pain as it trashed with its legs around the area.

But even so, it was not the result Ren was aiming for.

'Tch, so hard'

He cursed inside his mind for this dogshit luck, before he made a platform using his air and then stepped on it and dodged a swing of one of the claws of a scorpion.

And then with one swift moment, to not allow the others to attack him just yet, he brought a bow from his inventory and then nocked an arrow and aimed.

*Swish*

Deep green energy surrounded his arrow before it was shot all of a sudden.

The arrow traveled cutting through the skies and then hit the same monster he injured earlier. It penetrated through its eyes and made it roar in pain once again.

Ren dodged another blow aimed at him again, as he locked on this same injured scorpion to take down first. He had a grin on his face as he even though was in a seriously dangerous situation, it was still better than being near the two SSS ranks. And it was exciting.

He landed on the ground and looked at the six SS ranks surrounding him.

*Tsk*

"Why do I get the feeling you're very annoyed?" Ren grinned as he asked them.

There was a visible ting of anger in the eyes of the monsters.

"Is it because you can't catch me?" Ren's figure blurred and dodged six stingers that were shot at him immediately.

He had a cheeky smile on his face as he appeared at a distance from them.

Monsters with higher ranks did possess some degree of intelligence. At least instinctive enough to know when they were being toyed with.

And they were angered since they weren't able to catch Ren even though the feeling he gave them was that he was weaker than them.

Since his strength wasn't higher ranked, and instead his speed was higher.

Ren just chuckled.

"You are higher ranked true, but that doesn't mean I can't harm you," He glared coldly, the smile not leaving his face.

And then, the same injured scorpion from earlier was targeted again.

But this time, he decided to go for a big attack to dispose of it in one go.

He immediately created dozens of giant hands, which took some mana from him, and he had them all restrain the scorpions.

Some caught them directly, and since they were coated in haki, they weren't easily damaged.

The others that were free would send wind bullets, blades, and spirals attacking the monsters.

Meanwhile, Ren personally went toward the monster he had injured earlier.

He concentrated and did something with his wind ability that he hadn't done before.

He made vacuums around its body in a second, and then as the vacuums were created, air rushed to fill the void created and this resulted in explosions happening that threw the scorpion around with every burst.

*Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom*

As the monster shrieked in pain from being thrown around, Ren seized that opportunity and gunned for its open mouth due to it screaming.

He created two giant hands that pried open its mouth wider, which although in a normal scorpion was small, in this one that was as huge as a building, it was large enough to swallow small buildings.

Ren sent a huge cyclone at its mouth which went down its throat and digestive system and wrecked it from the inside out until it destroyed its heart and all internal organs.

Blood leaked from in between its exoskeleton making it feel unimaginable pain before its screams died down, and finally, it succumbed to death.

*Fuah*

As its body feel, Ren didn't stay idle, instead due to his observation he had already dodged one of the attacks of the scorpions.

'Of course, they can't be held for long…'

He knew his ability, or rather Robin's ability, even with his monstrous mana can't hold them for long.

Doing this to take one of them down, almost took 30% of his whole mana reserves, as he had created many giant hands coated in haki and they were even attacking to stop the other five monsters.

It was very taxing and he couldn't keep doing it, lest he ends up losing. Which would spell death for him.

As such, now Ren had to think hard about how to take them down and had to be careful around them.

Still, he gave them another cheeky grin. As if he didn't care.

Even though he was breathing a bit roughly, his spirit wasn't any less fired up.

"One down, five more to go,"

Meanwhile, on the side of Whitebeard. A while after Ren had started fighting the five remaining scorpions.

The old man took an opportunity when the monster was distracted as it felt another one of its minion brethren die, and punched with his right hand as his left and injured one held the bisento.

A white bubble coated his hand as a shockwave exploded the moment he contacted the scorpion boss.

*Boom*

It was thrown back immediately as a huge explosion sounded as if an earthquake had happened.

*Pant* *Pant*

'Tch, I'm getting weaker…'

He wiped the blood that leaked from his mouth.

The old man thought to himself as watched the monster be thrown away a huge distance as its body broke tree after tree in its path.

He had been fighting for a while now, and using his observation, he always kept a tiny amount of focus on Ren.

He saw how Ren was almost done fighting the scorpions. Although his state had gotten pretty bad with his aura getting weaker, he only had one monster left to fight so his condition was overall good.

'Not that I'm any better, Gurarara'

He laughed to himself as he eyed the monster that was rapidly coming back toward him.

He had been fighting for a while now, and this monster proved to be a pain in the ass.

Well, it was expected since the old man was sick and wasn't at his peak, so he couldn't take it easy against it lest he ends up dying as a result.

He had gotten poisoned. As his skin had gotten purple in various areas, which wasn't easily treated.

'Thank god I know a good doctor,' He was thinking about Tsunade.

That wasn't the only thing.

He had blood all over him, and various wounds opened on his body.

Still, his posture never faltered, and even though literal blood was leaking from him staining his beard -cough, cough- mustache red, he didn't care, he still sported the same smile.

"After all, you aren't fine yourself huh?"

He grinned at the monster that was no worse for wear.

It was missing one pincer, and two legs on the other side.

Green blood leaked from it, and there was a hole in its chest that was trying to mend but couldn't heal fast enough.

It was the recent wound dealt by the old man's attack.

"Let's wrap this up, shall we?"

The old man smiled a bloodthirsty smile as he tensed his muscles.
