Queen Of Death

Levels weren't an end all be all of strength, but it was a good way to depict how dangerous they were. But every race leveled differently. For instance, a dragon at age 5 would be much higher than a human at age 5, and they live longer. Meaning, they can grow stronger and stronger.

The average level of humans was around 6. The average level for human soldiers and adventurers was level 47. And the average level for S-rank humans was around 152. But there were still creatures far, far more powerful. One of those was the queen of death, Anubis, and ruler over the Shokling temple of balance.

She was an anthropomorphic jackal. The only real way to describe her was a literal furry. She had rich black fur and a gold and blue pharaoh crown. She had jackal ears and a tail. She had golden eyes and long black hair. She was very tall and also very attractive. She had a large bust, thick hips, and black lipstick. Her clothing was like an ancient Egyptian pharaoh, and she wielded a cane that looked Egyptian.

She was level 241, but that was far from her pique. Her father was level 13851, but due to his passing after a long 10,000 years of rule, Anubis was forced to take over.

Even getting a glimpse of her was rare. Some of her citizens didn't even know what she looked like. It was because of her powerful skill, Scale Breaker. It made it so anyone who was weaker than her would have their HP drained till they died and corroded away. And anyone who injured her, even on accident, would die instantly.

Many fear her and most won't even talk to her out of fear of her. But unbeknownst to most, she's actually very lonely. She wanted friends and companions. But most of all, she wanted to get married and have children. It was her dream to have a loving husband and a beautiful child. But it was hard to find anyone who wouldn't die by simply being around her. Even if she did, they mostly just wanted something out of her. Like territory, power, money, or even worse things.

But Anubis did have an endgame. There was one type of person she could find, but it was impossible to find one. It was someone who had mastered both beast-taming and clericship. As a cleric, they would be able to heal themselves from her abilities. And if she was tamed by her partner in question, by the rules of being a familiar, they couldn't intentionally hurt their master, passive or not, which would nullify her aura.

The problem is, both skills usually take several decades to master and most people who have those skills are humans, who barely live past 50 most of the time. Anubis tried to cope by reading romance novels her mother loved, but it only made her more and more depressed. She began to greatly envy the women in her stories. Being able to hug and kiss their partner felt like a pipe dream to her, so reading it in a fiction story only made her worse off mentally. And it only got worse when she looked out her castle window and saw couples below her.

She hated them for having the one thing she couldn't. A family. Both her parents were murdered and she had no friends or relatives. No one would talk to her and most wouldn't even try to be in her presence. It was truly an isolated existence.

Well, she did have her soldier. But she didn't want power, she wanted love. Even her four commanding generals only idolized her. They didn't love her as a person. Only as someone who could give them stuff. Well, it was until, one day, she sensed something.

Anubis had many skills. One of them was a detector, which allowed her to see the skills of other individuals within an 80-kilometer radius in whatever direction she was facing. While doing this, she felt something anomalous. It was someone with three skills. And two of them were beast tamer and cleric.

She rushed to her window to see if she was just imagining things, but she really saw it. Someone was walking through the desert city. They had blue hair and pink eyes. And they were a man. Anubis looked closely at his hand to see if he had a wedding ring, but he didn't.

She began to panic and demanded to meet that man. So, within 10 minutes, he was now in her throne room, kneeling before her with several monster knights by her side.

The human was a little scared. He felt her immense aura and had to keep healing himself because his HP kept dropping.

"I have but one question for you, human."

The man grew nervous. "Y-Yes?"

"Are you married?"

"Huh?"

"Answer the question, are you married?"

"Uh... well, I have a girlfriend?"

"Y-You do?"

"Yes, her name is Amalia. And please forgive me. I didn't introduce myself. My name is Allen Torrent. Could you please tell me why you wanted to know if I was married?"

"I was looking for a marriage partner with certain skills and you had them."

"Oh, yeah. Make sense. I am a cleric and a beast tamer after all. But unfortunately, even if I didn't have a girlfriend, I couldn't stay for long."

The man explained his story to Anubis. He was from another world and planned to return soon. It did sadden Anubis to have her chance of happiness sweated away. But before leaving, the man made a promise.

"I plan to have children in the future. If they die, they will be reincarnated into this world. If I have a son, then he will not only come to this world but have the same skills as me. If he's single at the time, then I give you my full blessing to wed him."

More than 500 years have passed. She was now level 8932 and still waiting for the man she was promised by the stranger all those years ago. She was still young, not even 1000 years old yet, but she grew tired of waiting. She wondered if the man had lied to her. Maybe he just wasn't attracted to her so he made up a story and a promise to get out of there.

But then, a man had barged into the room. A knight, clad in a silver full body armor toned with white and blue with a dark mantle that has a starry appearance as if it were cut out of a starry night sky. He was a very tall man of intimidating stature, standing at two in a half meters. He didn't wear a helmet, revealing he was a skeleton underneath.

"What did I tell you about knocking, Grydvesa?"

"Sorry, my queen, but this is too urgent."

"This better be good."

"The prophecy came true. That man... Allen Torrent was telling the truth. His son rests on a plateau outside of the Pez Kingdom."

"Huh?"
