Unconditional Life

One day, Jake was abandoned by his stepfather and biological mother. Since then, he has lived alone. He has no company, no friends, and no one to turn to, he doesn't even know his biological father. Jake supports himself by working at a coffee shop. He is a good person, kind, helpful, and considerate. He is friendly to those he interacts with, but no one wants to be friends with him. He is constantly bullied at school, victimized by fate, and it seems like his life is going nowhere. Despite all this, he remains happy and positive. But why did his parents abandon him if he's a good person? and why doesn't he know who his biological father is? Who is he, and what really happened in his past? Jake's relationship with Faye Smith, a classmate, is fraught with tension. Faye is extremely annoyed with Jake for no apparent reason. She gets angry and irritated at everything Jake does. Just seeing Jake makes her furious, even when he hasn't done anything. However, Jake is kind and positive, so none of this bothers him whatever bad things she did. But when Jake changes, Faye notices and becomes curious about why he changed and starts missing the old Jake. As she gets to know him better, her attitude shifts, but this time, Jake is different. Why is Faye so angry with Jake without any reason? And how did Jake change to the point that it made Faye curious and eventually like him? Main Character (Mc): Jake Caratao Female Lead (FL) : Faye Smith Volume 1: Is about how cruel the world is to the Jake and how it changes him. Volume 2: Is about Jake's transformation. In any aspect, behavior, or whatever it may be. Included here are his background story, as well as those of the other characters. Volume 3: The new transformation of Jake. This time, Jake is completely different from Volume 1, especially in Volume 2. He will become the leader of a criminal gang. How did he become the leader of a criminal gang? Where is the kind, helpful, friendly, and considerate Jake now? The Volume 3 will be different from the previous stories, as it will be filled with conflicts, and fights. The story is a bit slow at the beginning because it's filled with slice of life, but as it progresses, it picks up fast pace. So, just try it. Each chapter will get better. I have some mistakes in the early chapters because I haven't yet fully detailed the story. So, I'm sorry! Tags: Realistic Fiction, Bullying, Romance, Tragedy, Evolution, Fights, Gang war.

No more Late.

Jake's home now. He's staring into the mirror in the bathroom, treating the bruises he got from the guys outside school.

"Man, this hurts... what did I even do to Faye?" Jake said while dabbing at the bruise.

He looks at the clock, "What time is it?... Huh?! 1:15? Damn, I'm late for work" He ran out of the bathroom to get dressed.

A few minutes later, Jake's ready to go and hops on his bike to head to the coffee shop.

His job there is to serve coffee, because he loves the smell of coffee and he is enjoying it.

Faye's POV in the car:

"Is it always this traffic-y here? I just wanna lie down, I miss my bed."

"Sorry, ma'am, I didn't know it'd be this bad. I'll find a faster route" her driver said.

"(Sigh) Whatever."

Faye looked out the window, super annoyed because she just wanted to get home. Then Jake quickly passed by their car using his bike.

"Huh? Is that Jake? He's so fast... I wish we could go that fast too." Faye thought to herself.

Back to Jake:

"Wooh, finally here... I'm here~"

"Hey, Jake. Why are you late?" the manager asked.

"Oh sorry ma'am, I had to treat my wounds when I got home from school, so I lost track of time. My bad (heads down)."

"Is that true? (Eyebrow raised)"

"Yes, ma'am."

Jake showed his bruises.

"What happened?... what ever, get back to work."

His lateness was ignored. Jake started working, and you could see he is really enjoying his job.

"Here's your coffee, ma'am. Enjoy~" Jake said to the customer.

"Oh, thanks!"

Manager's POV:

The manager is watching Jake, checking if he is working properly since she's still fairly new for being manager and she didn't know him well.

"How old is Jake again?" she asked an employee.

"Umm... I think he's 18, ma'am." the employee answered.

"Oh, good... I thought he wasn't 18 yet, and that wouldn't be allowed."

"But ma'am, I think he's been here for about a year now."

"Really? I didn't know that. But anyway, he works well and hasn't messed up, so I guess there's no problem."

"True, ma'am. But he used to work the night shift, so you probably didn't notice him, and I think this is the first time he's been late."

"Whatever, his reason is valid. "

6:30 pm*

Jake's shift ended, and he is packing up to go home when his manager approached him.

"Jake, good work. But no more late, understood?" the manager said.

"Hehe, yes ma'am." Jake replied, squinting his eyes.

"Good, take care."

"Thanks, ma'am~, you too."

Jake is already outside the coffee shop with his bike when he saw an elderly woman struggling to walk.

He approached her.

"Grandma, are you okay?" he asked.

"Um.. My foot hurts, so I can't walk."

"Let me help you. Where are you headed?"

"I'm close by, so it's okay. Thank you very much."

"I'll just support you then."

While this is happening, his manager saw everything.

"You're too kind, Jake. Keep it up." she whispered to herself, smiling.

Jake escorted the elderly woman to her destination and gave her some food and water.

"Here you go, grandma. Some food to give you strength. Have your grandkids massage your foot. If they don't, let me know and I'll scold them, hehe."

"Thank you, young man. What's your name?" she asked, touching his cheek.

"Jake, grandma. Jake, hehe."

"Thank you so much, Jake. May the Lord bless you."

"Hehehe, thank you~ I'll be heading off now. Take care always (smile)." Jake said, then getting on his bike to leave.

"Such a good boy." the grandma said to herself, smiling.

Jake finally got home and changed to relax.

He ate while watching TokTik.

"Hahahahaha, that's funny, man. Almost choked on my food."

Even though Jake is alone, he could easily make himself happy in his own way.

"Wooh, I'm full. I'll rest a bit and then take a shower."

1 hour ago. Jake already finished his shower and lay down on his bed to sleep.

"Ah, my bed, I missed you! And my teddy bear, Norish, I missed you too! Have a good sleep, cutie. Night!"

Morning*

The alarm rings. With a sleepy hand, Jake reaches out and turns it off.

After a good stretch and a yawn, Jake feel refreshed from a restful sleep. "Ah, that was a good sleep. Here we go again, back to our daily routine."

"I'm actually excited about it, hehe." Jake said while getting up from bed.

An hour later, Jake is now ready and heading to school. Stepping out of the door, he meets the owner of the house he rents.

"Morning, Jake! Rent, electricity, and water payments?" greets the landlady.

"Good morning. Right, the payment hehe... Um, how much again for everything?"

"Rent is 3,300 pesos, water is 1,000 pesos, electricity is 800 pesos. So, 5,100 pesos," she replies.

"Wait, hehe."

Jake quickly grabs the money for payment and immediately hands it over to the owner.

Jake hops on his bike and leaves immediately.

Twenty minutes later...

Jake is already at school when he enters through the gate alongside Charm.

"Hi, Charm. Good morning!" greets Jake.

"Hi, Spedd. Morning~" Charm replies.

"Huh? Spedd? Me?... Hahahaha, Charm's quite the joker," Jake chuckles as he chains up his bike.

In the classroom, Jake is sitting when Faye enters the room.

"Hi Faye, good morning!" greets Jake.

Faye takes her seat and remarks, "Wow, you actually came to class despite having bruises on your face, haha..."

Jake looks confused. "Hm??"

"Aw, poor thing~" she teases with a smirk.

"Huh? Well, you're the reason for this, haha," Jake replies, teasing back.

"WHAT??" Faye exclaims in surprise.
