Thor sneered and ignored Loki, focusing his attention on meeting with the Valkyrie.
Female Loki was visibly irritated. She'd never seen such a low-level, clueless, and plain garbage version of Loki before.
"If you're not competing with the TVA, you're dragging yourself down," she muttered, frustrated. "You're worse than the idiot who punches his own teammates!"
Just as the two were about to clash, a meteor crashed through the roof and landed between them.
Female Loki seemed to remember something and hurried out, clearly alarmed. The sight that greeted her made her face go pale, and she couldn't help but curse.
"Idiot! Moron! You've taken us straight into a death trap!"
Because she often had to evade the TVA, Female Loki was familiar with all kinds of doomsday scenarios and had a good supply stored in her TempPad.
The current setting, however, was grim. It was Lamandis-1 in the year 2077, a satellite about to collide with its parent planet, leading to total annihilation. No one would survive.
Female Loki's panic was justified; this was the worst and most terrifying apocalyptic scenario on her TempPad. All the other options might have been survivable with some effort, but this one had virtually no chance.
Making matters worse, the TempPad was low on energy.
In other words, Loki had chosen the one apocalyptic scenario out of thousands where there was no way out.
"This is really bad luck," Female Loki said.
Lucifer, watching from DC world, enjoyed moments like this because they often led to all sorts of interesting twists and surprises. However, he soon became puzzled, tilting his head in confusion.
"But why would Loki randomly open a portal that leads straight to a dead end?" he wondered aloud.
God didn't say a word, but the look in his eyes spoke volumes.
(The two escaped the meteor shower just before impact and made it to a safe house.)
Right then, female Loki tried to take control of Loki's mind, but it just led to some awkwardness. For someone with a strong will like Loki, tricks and spells like this just don't work.
They almost fought again but held back, knowing that their only chance of survival was to charge the controller before the day ended.
As they were looking for a power source, female Loki shared that her alias was "Sylvie." It wasn't Loki at all.
Loki wasn't happy about the name; it didn't sound independent or commanding. It didn't seem intelligent either, like a silly TV series heroine's name.
Despite the tension, the two weren't completely silent on their journey. Loki's words had a way of filling the air, and even Sylvie, who was initially reluctant to talk, found herself arguing with him before she knew it.
Soon, they stumbled upon a small town, but everyone was gone, and there was no electricity. It wasn't until they reached the outskirts that they found a house with someone inside.
Sylvie's usual approach was to solve problems with violence, so she kicked the door open with a loud bang.
Right as the door swung open, an elderly woman fired a homemade energy cannon at Sylvie, blasting her out of the house. Fortunately, Sylvie's Frost Giant royal lineage meant that a hit like that was just uncomfortable, not dangerous.
But Loki couldn't help but laugh at Sylvie's misfortune.
"Looks like sometimes you need a little brains," he sneered, mocking Sylvie's brute force.
He peered through the window, and when he saw a photo of the old woman and her late husband, he got an idea.
Using a flash of green magic, Loki transformed into the image of the old woman's deceased husband. He took a moment to get into character, then appeared at the doorway, feigning a tremble in his voice as he spoke:
"My love, it's been so long, and you're still as beautiful as ever..."
Loki played the part like a husband returning from the dead, overjoyed to see his wife again.
"Thor, learn to control your temper. Don't be as reckless as Sylvie."
"Observe me, this is how you use your wits."
Loki spoke with confidence. He was quite sure of his acting skills, and he believed that if he were to go to Midgard, he could easily win an Oscar.
*BOOM!*
[Like a swatted fly, Loki was sent flying as well.]
[The old woman shouted at Loki, who looked utterly bewildered:]
["That scoundrel never said a single kind word to me in his life!"]
["Your acting is revolting!"]
"This is a prime example of gathering information before making plans!" Loki said to Thor in a teaching tone.
Thor, who had been about to mock him, was caught off guard by Loki's words. He couldn't tell if it was true or not, so he just held his tongue.
Loki smirked to himself, thinking that Thor's level of cleverness was just too low.
[Under the purple sky, Loki and Sylvie were walking briskly in one direction.]
[Although they didn't get the energy source they needed, they did discover something useful.]
[There was an escape ark in the city, and it would definitely have enough power to recharge the control device.]
[However, the city was far from their current location, and they would need to take the train to get there.]
[To board the train, one needed special registration (which Loki did not have), but Loki used his illusion magic to transform into a staff member, allowing him and Sylvie to get through.]
[Perhaps due to the desperate situation, the two began to open up to each other during their conversation.]
[At first, Loki was worried about accidentally revealing the secret that he was adopted and a Frost Giant, but Sylvie mentioned that her parents had told her about that from the start.]
[Loki then asked Sylvie about her mother, Frigg. What was she like? Did she love her like his own mother had loved him, or did she not care?]
[Sylvie replied calmly that she couldn't remember.]
At that moment, seeing Sylvie's calm expression, Loki suddenly understood why she was so determined to kill the Time Keepers. Loki, being a master of deception, recognized the pain she was hiding behind her stoic façade.
He didn't ask her about it, but instead offered comfort and performed a simple fireworks trick—something Frigg had taught him. They chatted about love and life, but Loki was still Loki, even in another timeline and another gender; he was always alone.
**Meanwhile, in the DC World...**
Deadpool observed Loki as if he were a rare species, and couldn't help but comment, "A thousand-year-old virgin, huh? Really living up to your name, Loki!"
Sylvie was also there, but because Superman was around, Deadpool held back from saying more, trying to maintain some semblance of decorum.
Back in Asgard, Thor eyed Loki with a mix of fear and curiosity. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that Loki never seemed to be interested in finding a partner.
Unlike Thor, who'd had plenty of relationships over his thousand-year lifespan, some of which had ended due to old age, Loki always seemed content to be alone.
Thor couldn't help but wonder about Loki's sexuality, especially since Loki always seemed more excited when Thor was around. It made him worry—what if Loki's "family" relationships took a turn for the worse? Would he have to put his brother down for the sake of Asgard?
Loki, on the other hand, was utterly confused by Thor's glances. If he knew what Thor was thinking, he would probably make a joke about it and then aim a playful punch at his brother's waist.
As for why Loki didn't pursue relationships? Simply put, he wasn't interested. To him, most women—except for his mother—were idiots and unworthy of his attention.
**Back with Sylvie...**
Sylvie awoke from her slumber to the sound of distant laughter. She quickly realized that the illusionary outfit Loki had crafted for her had vanished, making her look like she had just gotten out of a rough night. Loki had failed again.
The guards, seeing Loki causing a scene, threw him out of the carriage without hesitation. Sylvie, knowing that Loki still had the control device, had no choice but to jump out and chase after him.
Loki had been drinking again, and his reckless behavior had gone too far. Sylvie was furious, her eyes like ice as she demanded he return the controller.
Loki knew he was in trouble. He held out his hand, intending to summon the controller and hand it back to Sylvie. But when he did, there was a flash of green energy, and the controller appeared... only it was bent into a C-shape.
Loki froze for a moment, then quickly tried to cover his surprise with a weak smile. Sylvie's cold gaze didn't falter as he offered a hesitant excuse, "Don't worry, maybe I can fix it."
But before Loki could even attempt a repair, the controller let out a spark, followed by a cloud of thick black smoke. It was clear that this was beyond simple mending.
