Chapter: 14

It was break again, all students left the class. But Nari didn't. She had some notes to make, so she stayed back. Writing for a while, she stretched a little while closing her eyes.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she found Park Ye Jun leaning forward on her desk, his hands taking support of it.

"Ah! Suddenly!" she got startled.

"What are you doing?!" she yelled, her voice echoed in the empty class.

Ye Jun smirked.

"Outside...there are some rumours."

"What?-"

"You and I are dating. Such rumours."

"What?!" she exclaimed and laughed.

"Aish! Really? People really don't have anything to do."

"But-" she looked at him.

"What are you doing here? Tell them it's not true."

"I did. But, they won't agree."

"Huh!"

She sighed in frustration and clenched her fists.

"They said there was no one left whom you didn't ask where I was, is that true?" his eyes sparkled with mischief.

"Uh- I-"

She looked here and there. It was true, she had asked everyone, but she had never thought it would lead to such rumours. Ye Jun was enjoying the rumours, as he liked how nervous she was right now.

"Did you miss me?" he asked, raising one brow.

"Huh? No," she said.

"Oh, okay. But then you also approached Eunji for it. I know you have him the most." he leaned a bit more.

"Then why did you go to such extents? What should I understand about this?"

She froze in her seat, her eyes stuck on him but she wasn't much confident. Ye Jun was teasing him right now and she couldn't help herself.

"Answer me, Ahn Nari."

"You hate him the most."

"No! It's not him, it's you. I hate you the most." She replied.

And the bell rang. She stood up, and he stood straight, too. Students started to fill the class, but no one noticed them much. Ye Jun kept looking at her with his arms folded above his chest. A smirk plastered on his lips showed how he was loving this moment. One thing was sure, what Nari said about her hating him the most wasn't true. She unzipped her bag and took out a book. Ignoring him, she sat down and starting studying.

Ye Jun went to his seat and kept staring at him. In his eyes, nervous and speechless, Nari was cuter than the usual Nari. Soon the history teacher entered the class and started his lecture.

Out of nowhere, when everyone was studying Ye Jun raised his hand.

"Yeah Ye Jun-ah, do you have any problem?"

Nari looked up at the teacher and her eyes travelled to Ye Jun. He stood up.

"Sir, I missed classes three days and I have difficulties understanding this concept. If anyone could help me." he requested.

The teacher nodded.

"Anyone who would like to help him?"

The whole class went silent. He was a brilliant student, and no one dared enough to share their notes with him.

"Aish! Your class has no unity. You tell me who would you like to get help from."

Ye Jun glanced at Nari and quickly answered

"Ahn Nari?"

From his peripheral view, he could see her eyes widening and it made him crack up.

"Ahn Nari."

"Yes sir!" she stood up.

"Share your notes with him. Only an Ace student can help another ace." He shook his head at others and smiled at Ye Jun and Nari.

"Yes sir." She said.

The teacher smiled and asked both of them to sit down. Ye Jun glanced at Nari again and she was glaring. He scoffed again. The class ended and Nari had to submit her copy to a teacher for correction. Ye Jun was missing from his seat, she wondered where did he go. She wanted to beat him for what he did earlier.

On her way to the staff room mumbling and cursing Ye Jun.

"Why does he have to do this? And why should I help him? It's not like we are some friends or something?!"

She gritted her teeth but suddenly she heard a piano playing. a soothing tune. The sound was coming from the music room of the school. She approached it and already found some students peeking from the window.

"Who is it? Never heard such a good pianist before," she mumbled and walked towards the room.

From the window when she peeked she could see the teacher already praising someone but the students face couldn't be seen. But then Nari realised that people standing around her were whispering. She stood still tiptoeing rie d hearing them out.

"Why would he do that?"

"I think she has lured Ye Jun in so that she doesn't get suspended."

"But are they seriously dating?"

And Nari realised that Ye Jun wasn't joking. Rumours were at peek, of them dating. But they mostly bad-mouthed her as they all thought Nari was too arrogant had anger issues and to suppress the current matter she had lured the only witness in.

She sighed the rumours had ruined her mood. Getting back on her feet she shook her head. She was about to go when the pianist ended their recital and the teacher clapped.

"Very good, Ye Jun!"

Nari stopped as she heard the name, and look back again.

"Keep practising you're too good."

The teacher was too much impressed, Nari tiptoed again and found Ye Jun scratching his back of the neck and smiling. Seeing him Nari's frown slowly faded away and she slightly smiled.

'Never knew you know how to play the piano other than irritating me.'

She said in meditation and scoffed within herself. But she didn't realise Ye Jun had noticed her. He looked at her and smiled. Her eyes widened when she saw him smiling at her. She quickly stood straight and fast-paced towards the staff room.

*knock* *knock*

She slightly opened the door and peeked in, her homeroom teacher nodded and she went inside.

"Good afternoon, sir." she greeted him and bowed a little.

"This is my notebook for correction."

He nodded and asked her to add it to the pile of notebooks. Going according to his command she once more bowed and opened the door to go outside. As she did she saw Ye Jun leaning on the wall opposite to the door, smirking. She turned to the left ignoring his and walked away in the corridor.

"Yah, Ahn Nari! You're ignoring ms."

"No." she shook her head vigorously.

He scoffed.

"I am just avoiding you so that the rumours get buried soon." she fast-paced and so did he.

Walling through the corridor Nari seemed extremely nervous. She had never been in a run out before and now that she was in, she felt like all the eyes were on her.

They went towards the staircase. Stopped and Ye Jun said,

"But I like those rumours."

Nari stopped on her way too and turned around to look at him standing on one upper step than her.

She frowned, "Are you crazy? See, I know this rumour started because of me, but I'll make sure it gets suppressed too."

Nari knew he was playing around again. He descended one step and stood in front of her.

"Why are you like this?" his eyes were enraged a little.

"They all are bad-mouthing me saying I lured you in. Does that make sense? This rumour will not harm you but me, it will."

She turned to go when he held her hand, "But, Nari-yah."

"Park Ye Jun!" she glared at him.

"I talk to you and smile with you, but don't forget on my list of the people I hate you're next after Eunji. And I don't trust you." she took her hand out of his grasp and walked away.

He again kept looking at her as she walked away, for him gaining her trust was getting harder.
