Anna led the tour around the Life Research Institute before Lorraine being brought to join lunch with Feng Lin.

"What do you think about the base?" Feng Lin asked

"Very good" Lorraine could guess what she wanted to say. In the adult world, there's always a hidden motive. Feng Lin had been the friendliest person to her. It's not a bad thing. "There's an apple tree in Al Empire. Its genes are completely pure and it was originated from ancient Earth. The researchers give it sunlight, air, water, and soil. They protect it to the fullest and occasionally take some samples to study. After all, without proper care and protection, the apple tree will die. Do you think I am right?"

"You're definitely right!" Feng Lin said without hesitation.

"As long as you don't harm my body, I allow you to research my gene"

Feng Lin spilled her drink and didn't bother to wipe it. She stared at Lorraine thunderstruck.

"Did I guess wrong? Is that not what you wanted to say?"

"I just wanted to ask if I could test your strength level"

Oh. Why did she kept embarrassing herself? Lorraine buried her face in her hand and asked through her fingers "Can you just pretend you didn't hear anything?"

"My strength is level A so I clearly heard everything you just said" Feng Lin completely ignored Lorraine's request and suddenly grabbed her hand. "Lorraine, I love you!"

Lorraine hadn't yet responded anything before Feng Lin swiftly lifted her up and excitedly spun her around in circle. As per Dr.Mu's education, Feng Lin was supposed to be something like 'peerless academic ability, outstanding research talent, elegant, intelligent, a goddess among men'. How should one explain this now?

Lorraine wasn't the only one confused. The people inside the entire canteen were all staring in shock. 'Big sister, are you sure you are not a bear mutant?'

"Everyone, today's drinks is on me! "That moment the canteen was filled with sounds of applause and whistles.

One soldier loudly laughed and asked, "Are you inviting us to your wedding feast?"

People bursted into laughter before everything went into silence when a cold voice came through the canteen, "Attention!"

The people in the entire canteen stood up and spoke in unison, "Yes!"

"Two minutes to eat" Chen Sha ordered.

After that, everyone was dismissed. Chen Sha, Zi Yan, and Chu Mo also walked out. Only Lorraine and Feng Lin was left.

"Chen Sha won't have any problems with me after this, right?" Lorraine asked.

"Didn't you know Chen Sha was just helping us? His strength level is 3A. He heard everything we said"

The next day, Lorraine went to Life Research Institute again for a health check-up with Feng Lin. After everything, there's still a strength test left to be done later.

Feng Lin referred to Lorraine's personal terminal: "The intellectual brain of the research institute will automatically recognize your authority. If the door opens, you can go in. If not, you are not allowed."   

This is simple. Lorraine doesn't have to worry about entering a forbidden research area by mistake.

After bidding farewell to Feng Lin, Lorraine went to the entertainment room to play a virtual reality game for a while. Seeing that the time was about the same as yesterday, she pretended to wander around and went to the third floor.   

In the cold corridor, a man in a blue patient suit and a staff member in white overalls walked towards Lorraine.   

Lorraine immediately stepped aside, wondering how to answer if they questioned her.

Turned out, they didn't seem to have the slightest interest. They just nodded politely to Lorraine and passed by.   

Lorraine sighed in relief. It seemed that it was normal for people to visit this area. From now on, she could come here with confidence, not afraid of being bumped into anyone.   

She went to the room where she saw Qian Xu yesterday and found out the door was closed tightly, not knowing whether Qian Xu was still there.   

Lorraine was very nervous, but she didn't know what she was nervous about.

Just as she was about to ring the doorbell, she hurriedly checked her appearance with the personal terminal, combed her hair, tugged her skirt, and after confirming that everything was OK, she took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell.   

"Please come in." someone's voice answered and the door opened.   

Qian Xu was sitting at the table and was working. When he saw her coming in, he said, "Wait", and closed the virtual workbench.   

Lorraine asked anxiously: "I'm sorry if I sudden come here, did I bother you?"

"No, I just took a look at some of my work."

He was wearing a light blue patient gown, his face was still pale, but seemed to be obviously better than yesterday.

Lorraine's heart jumped heavily. For Qian Xu, it might be just a normal name, but for her, he is the first person to call her name in this world!   

She smiled like a flower and stretched out her thumb: "Correct!"   

"Your name is easy to remember." Qian Xu smiled slightly, the corners of his eyebrows and eyes were calm and peaceful, like a spring breeze.

Lorraine raised her wrist, pointed at her personal terminal, asked nervously, "Can we add a communication friend?" For this, she specifically confirmed yesterday that by adding a communication friend would not reveal her identity. She was restless all night, worrying that he would refuse.   

Qian Xu was taken aback for a moment: "Sure." He then told her a series of communication number.   

Lorraine was very excited and immediately sent out an invitation. After he confirmed, there's an additional communication number in Lorraine's address book.

Lorraine entered his name and said beamingly: "I recently helped a friend's work, and I will often come to the research institute. If you are free, you can send me messages at any time."   

Qian Xu asked amused: "Are you so happy every day?"

Qian Xu coughed slightly, and the smile on the corners of his lips deepened.

Lorraine hesitated for a moment and asked, "Do you live here?"   

"No, I work for the tactical interstellar battleship research base. I come here only when I participate in the treatment program."   

It seems that Qian Xu's illness does not affect his normal work and life, and he is working at the base. It will be easy to continue meeting him. Lorraine breathed a sigh of relief, "Are you busy at work?"

"Not really."   

Lorraine asked, "How's that not really? Does it mean you have time to chat and talk trivial things personally, or the kind that can only talk about business?"

Qian Xu thought for a while: "It depends on who it is. If it is you, we can talk trivial."

Lorraine returned to the entertainment room, opened the address book and saw Qian Xu's name. She couldn't help but smile.

Maybe because they were both experimental subjects, she and Qian Xu had things in common. Maybe because Qian Xu was an ordinary person and kind to her, Lorraine felt relaxed when she's with him, unlike when she needed to be vigilant when being with Chen Sha or Zi Yan.

She was Luo Xun, and she had her first friend! Lorraine felt that everything was so wonderful as if it didn't seem to be real.   

She couldn't help sending a text message to Qian Xu: "Hello!"   

Qian Xu immediately replied: "Hello, what's the matter?"   

Lorraine replied with embarrassment: "It's nothing, just see if you can receive the message from me."   

"I received it." Qian Xu did not dislike her message. Instead, he sent a picture of petting her head, comforting her.

Lorraine felt as if he's really there comforting her. She closed the address book happily, and began to continue her work.
