The isolation of the sea part 3

As Adam hid among the muddy beds and soaked draws of past goblins, he would quickly sneak a peek at the entrance way, from time to time, as the behemoth would wander back and forth down the hallway trying to sniff Adam out. But not knowing where to go, Adam would sneak past the fat slob, as he would check bedroom to office spaces, trying to mentally map out the area!

But once he finally got the layout down, he realized there was nowhere out but to enter the ventilation system! Worried, but not having an alternative, Adam mustered the courage to enter through those waterlogged vents. As he crawled in his soaked pants, he would take out his motion scanner to see where the behemoth was at all times! Fortunately, or unfortunately, he noticed that the behemoth could somehow track him up in the vents! Confused, how the monster could so accurately track him up here but not below, Adam quickly realized he had far worse problems to figure out!

[odd… if that big marker is the behemoth… then what is that smaller dot I see on my tracker!] thought Adam to himself, as he studied his tracker.

However, as Adam stared at that slow moving dot, it was like whatever it was lost. The dot suddenly made a turn… then another… then another until Adam realized the scary truth that whatever this thing was... Was making a beeline straight for him! Not wanting to stick around to know what it was, Adam busted his ass to second gear and crawled like his life depended on it! But as the thing was gaining ground faster than Adam could crawl. Adam kicked the bottom of the vent he was in and dropped down into the waterlogged hallways, with just enough time to look back see what the monster was!

[It's that damn alien creature again!] yelled Adam in his mind! As his light shines onto the alien creature!

Fortunately for Adam the alien refused to jump down, it just stayed up in the vent staring at Adam menacingly! With a hiss the creature turned around to leave just as Adam flashed his light at the behemoth that was right in front of him! As it gave chase Adam said:

[sigh, not this again!]

When he finally managed to hide from the behemoth again, he took out his tracker and noticed that the alien was still there! Thankfully it wouldn't just stay in one spot and would keep going around in circles.

[great so now I have to play hide and seek from two monsters! Well, it could be worse, at least I saw the vent that leads to the infirmary] thought Adam to himself.

While hiding away, Adam came up with a plan! A bold plan he did not like but it was the only one he could think of. While taking a deep breath, Adam readies himself for round two, as he jumps back into the ventilation system! Of course, the second he did the alien would immediately come after him, but that was par for the course. Adam only needed to make sure that this time the alien was far enough for him to make the crawl to the infirmary!

As he crawled through the crappy passageway, Adam didn't even try to hide his location for the behemoth that was just below him, for as the giant heard the nose in the vent it would claw through the thin metal sheets trying to grab Adam or the alien as they made their way through. Thankfully for Adam, every time the behemoth rammed through the vents, it would make the alien back off, giving Adam much need breathing space, as Adam wasn't able to turn around in these small vents to be able to shoot the alien with his gun, a gun in which was running dangerously low on ammo by this point.

But seeing its prey get away, yet again, enrages the alien to the point of madness! As it still remembers the bullet wounds inside its skin! With a madding roar the alien jumps headfirst through the behemoth giant claws to give chase! Unfortunately for the alien, the behemoth wasn't just going to watch its food getaway! With More determination than ever, the behemoth jumped into the air, forcing his fat ass into the tiny vent as much as he could, breaking it!

With the sudden break, the behemoth managed to grab hold of the tail end of the alien! Much to its surprise, for as the alien felt the sudden yanking of his tail, did it turned around to see the bottomless gut of the behemoth! While smelling the slob's foul breath, the alien quickly cut off its own tail! Spraying acidic blood all over the behemoth's mouth! As the giant fell backward from the sudden pain in its mouth, the alien turned around to see its prey make its escape! As the entire vent came crashing down into the watery floors below!

As Adam fell out of the vent, he quickly turned around to see if the alien made it through. Counting his lucky stars that it didn't, he looked around the room only to be disheartened as he saw four dead bodies of the yellow team. As he examined their corpse that looked like they had been thrown into a meat grinder, he heard the most mind chilling noise ever! The noise reminded Adam of that of a raspy cat trying to breathe, while it had a fat rat stuck in its throat!

Scared, Adam turned to shine his light through the mirror like glass-window that reflected into the infirmary room! Noticing something standing in the far back of the medical bed, Adam carefully approaches the glass window to get a better view. While hearing the sickening noise Adam shines his light, to see the back of what he believed to be that of a naked goblin woman! The pale gray skin women twitched and spasmed in her drowned coffin, while making awful noise.

Disturbed by the woman's demeanor, Adam was about to turn and leave when the woman suddenly turned around! With an open chest that concealed a rotten heart, the woman stared with her dead fisheyes right at Adam! As she twitched uncontrollably, she opened her mouth to scream a blood curdling scream that shattered the glass windows! As the glass shatters, two fleshy looking sharks appear around the women! Like homing missiles, they swam through the air like it was water right to Adam!

As Adam raised his gun to fire, he heard the most dreadful clinking sound of his life! Only now did he realize that he used the last of his ammo to blow open the exit in the vent! Seeing the shark heading towards him, Adam quickly shoved his gun into the mouth of one of the sharks and threw it to the side, as the other one bit into his left arm! While calling out in pain, Adam drew his side arm and blew holes into the shark! As the shark fell dead, Adam began to run as the woman frantically screamed calling more sharks!

With a pack of sharks behind him, Adam ran through the corridors as other zombie-like goblins started to leave their empty rooms, trying to snag a meal! While running and shooting the ones that got in his way, he arrived at the end of the corridor, only to be met with an open elevator shaft. Deciding rather it was worth climbing up or looking for another passage, Adam turned around to see the ravenous horde of sharks swimming through the horde of zombies while devouring them!

Having no time to think of another way, Adam tipped his way into the elevator and tried closing the doors, luckily for him it was one of those sliding gate doors! But knowing those flimsy doors can't hold for long, Adam grabbed hold of the ladder and started going up as quickly as possible! But as time ticked by, Adam could hear the sounds of the gate waning to the weight of the sharks as they pushed against it!

While hearing the bolts that held the gate closed shoot out like a piston! Adam looked up and gauged the remaining distance he needed, but with a heavy heart he knew there just wasn't enough time! As the sharks piled into the elevator shaft Adam noticed a vent right to his right!

[dammit not again! Enough with these vents!] screamed Adam as his crawled inside

Safely inside the vent, he quickly turned off his light, as all the sharks swam past his hiding hole! Sighing in relief, Adam made his way up using the topography of the vent, while wrapping his injured arm as best he could. While finally making his way out of the vent, he arrived in a very small room that had another emergency ladder heading up. Taking this moment to relax his mind, he heard a sudden beep that came from his motion tracker!

[shit! What is it now!] thought Adam as he reached into his pocket.

While thinking what it could be, he noticed how quickly it was moving through the vents around him! Cursing to himself, for he knew that dot could only be one thing!

[That damn thing just doesn't give up!] said Adam to himself!

After figuring out what it could be, Adam immediately started climbing the ladder! But just as he made it up halfway the alien showed it's ugly head! With a hiss, the alien started to climb the ladder! Panicking, Adam shot down a few pistol shots at it, only for it to be non-effective against the creature other than slowing it down for a few! Seeing the alien getting closer, he forced his injured arm to move faster! Fighting through the pain he almost arrived at the top when the alien suddenly grabbed his foot!

Feeling the sudden increase in weight, Adam wrapped his good arm around the ladder while trying to shoot the alien with his bad arm! But even with shots hitting the alien arms and shoulders, it would not give up! As the alien hissed, it grabbed the clip belt around Adam's waist! Knowing he would die if the alien got any closer, Adam wrapped his bad arm around the ladder to use his other hand to unbuckle his belt, for he didn't want to drop his only remaining weapon! Reeling back from the decoupling, Adam used this chance to swap arms again to shoot the alien in the head!

As Adam's last bullet penetrated the head of the alien! The alien took one last look at Adam as it let go! As its body fell back down the shaft, its head suddenly exploded in a beautiful grotesque manner, as brain matter and acid sprinkled on Adam burning his flesh! Counting his lucky stars yet again Adam manages to open the covering hatch, only to be met with guns pointed at his face!
