Lisa's Boutique

When Auralia stepped out of the sleek black sedan, she held out a hand for Mrs. Davidson, helping the older lady out the car.

"Your parents raised you well." Mrs. Davidson smiled as she placed her gloved hand on Auralia's arm.

"My dad did…" Auralia smiled proudly.

Her mother had died when she was a toddler in a car accident so her father had raised her until his death. She was glad she had a caring father like him, knowing that many people around her had grown up without a father.

"Oh…I didn't realize your mother had died when you were young." Mrs. Davidson had a weird look on her face.

"It's fine. I was young when she died. So, I don't remember much about her." Auralia murmured, wanting to get rid of the slight tension in the air. "Anyway, where are we heading too?"

"The boutique store across the road." Mrs. Davidson pointed at the shop across the road.

Auralia looked to where the older woman had pointed, seeing a brick building with a small shop and apartments above it. It had mannequins dressed up in fancy clothing in the window display and a neon sign hanging above the shop reading:

Lisa's Boutique

There wasn't anything about the shop that screamed wealthy to Auralia, it looking like a normal middle-class vintage store.

Once they made their way across the street to the shop, Auralia opened the glass door for Mrs. Davidson. A small bell above the door rang when the door opened and closed again.

Inside the shop, it was much more different. Auralia felt as if she had stepped into another world, the interior of the shop looking as through it belonged to a high end store in the middle of the downtown area.

She was surprised by how big it was, the place filled with racks of clothing. There was a counter in the back where a woman who looked to be in her thirties stood. She quickly spotted them and walked over to them smiling.

"Hello Mrs. Davidson and…" The woman paused and looked at Auralia.

"Auralia, my granddaughter…" Mrs. Davidson smiled back at the other woman. "We've come to get some clothes for her, Lisa."

"Hmm…" Lisa pursed her lips as she did a once over on Auralia. "Full makeover?"

"If possible." Mrs. Davidson nodded.

"Of course. Greg's in the back so we can do hair and makeup too." The woman paused again. "Although, the makeup is fine. Any specific looks we're going for?"

"Let's go with semi casual and modern." Mrs. Davidson answered. "I want my granddaughter comfortable but classy as well. Also, clothes that are easy to move in."

"Alright, I'll get to work then…Shall I get my assistant to prepare some refreshments?"

"Please do."

Auralia felt her head spin as she watched the two older women go on, deciding to do a whole makeover of her in a few seconds. She couldn't believe she had gone from a shopping trip to getting her hair and makeup done.

"Um-"

"Don't worry dear." Mrs. Davidson smiled at her and patted her arm. "Lisa here is the best in the business. If anyone can turn you into a princess, it's her."

With those words, Auralia knew there was no arguing. She let out a small sigh and accepted her fate, following Lisa to the back of the shop while Mrs. Davidson walked around the shop looking at different clothes.

An hour later and hair restyled, Auralia decided the makeup thing wasn't so bad. She didn't often get to do girly things like getting hair done at a salon or doing her nails and if she was being honest, she was actually enjoying it.

Greg, the hairdresser and makeup artist, had given her some great tips on makeup and keeping her hair styled at shoulders length.

Also seeing her transformation made her understand what Mrs. Davidson met. She looked like someone who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth rather than someone who grew up in a dojo on the poor end of the city.

"How do you want your nails done?" A voice suddenly asked, interrupting her train of thought.

Auralia looked over at the person who had just spoken The man had white hair despite him being in his thirties and dark brown eyes.

"Could we keep them short please, Greg." Auralia answered.

While she would have loved to have longer nailed, she was worried that they would get broken while training, deciding to keep it simple.

"Alright dear. Simple and short it is." He placed a box with different colored nail polishes on the table. "You want any color?"

Auralia took a good look at the box, finally picking up a light purple color. She handed the bottle to Greg.

"This one please."

"Okay." He took the bottle and began working on her nails.

After a few minutes had passed, Mrs. Davidson appeared coming to see how thing were going. Lisa followed closely behind with some clothes hanging over her arm.

"You've done quite well." Mrs. Davidson complimented as she took the seat next to Auralia.

"It's all in a day's work." Greg smiled at her.

She nodded her head and Lisa came forward, placing the clothes on a nearby seat. "Auralia, when you're done, please put these clothes on."

"Okay…" Auralia replied a little confused, wondering if Lisa was checking if they fit.

Before Greg had worked on her long, black hair, Lisa had quickly taken her measurements so she could choose clothing for Auralia based on her size. It seemed that all the clothing in the store was made by Lisa and her assistant, meaning that some things would fit while others wouldn't, depending on what size the clothing was made.

It was a little weird at first, but Auralia soon learnt Lisa took orders for different sizes when the clothing didn't fit right, fixing it up for the client.

Mrs. Davidson sensing what Auralia was thinking said, "It's for you to wear now. When we go on our shopping trip."
