The Arrow: Son of Merlyn

My name is Joseph Kranoick. I built myself from the ground up, by sacrificing most of my teenage days to be happy now. Now, the only thing that brings me joy is being stronger than anyone else. Maybe thats why, I have this deep desire that even I didn't know to conquer everything that exists.

Chapter 2: Omni-Trials

(POV Joseph)

As I opened my eyes, I found myself in a completely weird situation. I was standing in space. Like literally space.

What the hell is going on? I had never taken drugs in my life!

Wait, are those people I see as well…okay, I need to stay calm.

"Welcome everyone. You have all been randomly selected from the planet known as Earth to participate in the Omni-Trials. Every billion years, a new omniverse is created, and the few of us here are the majority of the rulers of the omniverse. Each of us specialize in a main concept and since new Omni-verses means that we would be able to host a trial to decide a new host. Since all of us are equal in power, we tend not to fight for the new Omni-verse. Managing one is tiring, I can attest to that since I started and it has been a slight hassle. Right, I am an ex-champion and just like you I once was a part of this trial. I am now the ethereal concept of suppression, dictated by my path to power and was an ex-champion of Perfection.

Now, all of you will soon feel a feeling of calmness wash over you, it's the feeling of control. You will be in complete control temporarily until your mind is sorted. After that, you will be allowed to feel normal.

Now then, there are 50 concepts here in this trail, I myself will not be participating in this trail, but the following one. Each of you will randomly be given a sponsor. It will be decided through a roulette wheel. The order of the concepts will be based on the victor of the last trail. Starting with my previous sponsor, Perfection and then going down to the bottom of the list. The main objective for all of you is, survive. It will essentially be a battle-royal across the multiverse with the rule of last man standing. To the winner complete freedom and to the loser, a life reborn back to Earth, without their memories but extremely high Karma."

As he paused, I felt a wave of emotions hit me and then I immediately gained control. Huh, I have to essentially fight for my life.

It's not something I wasn't used to. I consider everyday a fight for my life, everyday to become someone better, this way, it will just be on a much, much grander scale.

"Alright, now for the rules.

No champion is able to pick the same universe. There has to be a major difference in everyone's champions pick. If someone picks the MCU, no one else can pick a variant version of that universe.

You will get to choose the background of your character, it can be an existing character, but only one that doesn't already have the potential to reach the peak of their world, so no main characters. It is recommended to just become your own person.

You will have 10 years in your own Multiverse before Champions will be able to find you. Then, the Hunter Battle will begin. It will be explained more when the time comes.

You cannot pick a race with a super long lifespan and decide to outlive everyone, this was patched by rule 3.

If you kill a champion, you will get rewarded by gaining more control of your current sponsor's law. For example, when I killed the champion of Rath, I was able to gain better control in perfect, which I used to gain perfect adaptation which was useful for me.

If a champion dies from a non-champion, a Champions bounty hunt will be created. By killing the person who killed the champion, the sponsor of the champion will bless you, potentially giving you an entire new set of abilities.

Time dilation! For popular worlds such as Dragon Ball, they have equipment such as the hyperbolic time champer. A year in the time chamber will not be counted in the 10 years. The time counted will only be 10 years of the main world of that universe/Multi-verse

(Authors note: More will be added as I think of them)

A piece of advice from a fellow ex-champion, don't overly rely on your world's powers. Only select sponsors have the ability to bypass worldly restrictions. For example, if you learn to use magic, and go to a world which uses Ki more, the world will reject your usage of magic, negating your powers. If your sponsor is perhaps Mana itself, then you would be able to bypass that since you are using your own power. Or maybe if your sponsor is Law itself, you could bypass the world's laws." He continued explaining.

Alright this all makes sense.

"Now, let's begin. I will spin the wheel, your number will pop up and you will be brought before us. Your sponsor will tell you his name and you will then pick your world. An advantage with going first is you would be able to pick the worlds first, a disadvantage is that you will immediately be transported and wouldn't hear your competitors' choices.

Nowwwwww, for the first number….43!"

I looked down to see myself wearing the number 31 on my shirt. Okay, I just need to wait. From now on it's a game of chance and I can't do anything about it.

I then saw a young female walking up and talking to the man who introduced the Omni-Trials to us.

"Alright lady, as mentioned before your Sponsor is Perfection, pick your Multiverse and get on going!" Said the host.

"I pick lightning is the only way world and I wish to be the daughter of the Opposer, a couple of tens of children before Gravis himself is born." The girl said.

That was honestly a smart choice, something I would have thought of as a choice. Being the Opposers daughter…that would definitely be a headache, I can't touch her and her overpowered background easily.

I think this is the point I become thankful for my stupid amount of years as a kid being a degenerate. I remember 4 novels, 2 anime, 1 movie verse and 1 Tv show verse really well. Everything else got lost into my memory.

If I get her in the Hunting challenge I will be in trouble, unless I myself went to a cultivation world, I didn't plan on going to one though. I know my strengths and weaknesses, and while I believe patience is a strength of mine, I am not patient to the point of sitting down for millions of years on my ass to get strong.

"Now the next number is 3!"

A man this time, around middle aged, walked up and waited for a bit.

"Your sponsor is Void!"

"I want to go to the DragonBall Universe, as the twin of Son Gohan, with the hybrid bloodline of a Legendary super saiyan and a human."

Well another one of my options is gone. Being in the DBZ verse is literally a walking path to godhood if you're a saiyan, since death isn't even real there.

"Now for the next one, number 31!" Shouted the host, and I immediately got pulled up.

"Now, time has slowed down for you, so take your time to make your decision. You should soon awaken a system, detailing your sponsor's power and the abilities you will be gaining. Then, you can pick a place to live in."

[Awakening the Avatar system]

[Name: ?

Sponsor: Avatar and control

Age: ?

Avatars unblocked: ?

Skills: ?

Sponsor perks: Avatar system, Rationality (allows host to more easily stay calm)

Avatar Shop

Control points: 0]

"As you can see, your sponsor is someone who specializes in dual attributes, avatar and control. Honestly, the last champion of this avatar was my biggest challenge, your growth rates will be unbelievable since the avatar function will allow you to take the skills of any living characters you know.

Your control points come from being in control. By control, it specifically means the emotions and attention that other people give you. The ranking of peoples importance is divided like this;

Mob, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Champions.

The more people feel about you, the more control points you earn. The more control points you earn, the more avatars you can buy.

Champions earn you the most points by far, since they will be the most important people in your omniverse.

Followed by diamond rankers, typically either extremely powerful beings or protagonists of the world.

Then, Gold is for main side-characters, let's say like the best friend of a protagonist.

Silver is for side characters that occasionally appear.

Bronze is for the people of the general populous of slight importance but no screen time. Like the CEO of a massive company.

Mob, literally being anyone.

You will gain more of an understanding as you use the system. If you pick an existing character, you won't earn control points from his/her previous actions, only from your current ones.

Also, the Avatars you can buy are also ranked, according to power scaling.

F Rank- being a character who can barely punch a hole in the wall.

S Rank- Being someone who can destroy a planet

SS Rank- Solar system

SSS- Galaxy to universal

G- God level characters like the Beyonder, someone above the multi-verse"

I nodded, as he explained everything. Most of it made sense.

Gain people's attention and I get some control points. Get them emotionally invested into me, like love, hate and anger, I get even more points.

Alright this is good, with this, I can think of ways to gain powerful skills according to what I know.

Now, I don't know too much about anime, shows, movies and novels but I do know some.

I remember reading about something called Everyone else is a runturnee, where the main character spent a thousand years training…

No way.

I remember an anime called Naruto but one is also where 8 year old kids are sent to be Ninja assassins, so it's going to be hard for me to flourish.

One piece is also one, but once again this world has many cons.

However, with these 2 worlds, my main problem is that I don't see myself gaining as much power in 10 years, then with my choice.

Afterall, the power scaling of my world is way higher.

"I chose the Arrowverse, of the show, with The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of tomorrow and all the other shows.

I wish to be Tommy Merlin in the show." I stated my intentions.

"Interesting, the sponsors are asking why specifically Tommy."

"Well, I wanted to be someone extremely rich, with a good background and close to the main characters of the show, and I cannot remember someone better. I wanted to be the twin of Barry Allen, however that would mess the timeline up, and I am not sure if the Reverse-Flash would keep me alive when I also try to gain access to the speedforce. The timeline is not something I have complete control over as I come into the world." I explained.

At first, I wanted to be someone like Oliver Queen himself, since he doesn't technically have the potential to be the peak power of the world, but I chose not to, since then I would have to deal with a lot of unnecessary things.

"So when will you go?"

"A year before Oliver gets onto the Queen's Gambit." I said.

"I wish you luck." I heard the host say, as the relevant information about my choice and character got transmitted to my competition.
