More than to satisfy my curiosity towards the chaos, I forced myself to remain awake in our 'teleportation' because I was worried about Nocturnal, or any other godly being for that matter.
Resisting the daze from the teleportation was also much easier than resisting the time stop from God's Dimension, so even without opening my Third Genetic Constraint I managed to remain awake.
The chaos was- well, as chaotic as ever I suppose. It was hard to make sense of what I saw, so I didn't try to. I couldn't really see much anyway.
But as we moved through the chaos, never did I feel Nocturnal's presence. I did feel a few things, however.
Part of me expected for Chaos to be somewhat similar to deep space, which was mostly filled with empty space, and incredible distances separated every astral body.
Chaos was quite different however as I could feel all sorts of things through our travel. Some were different worlds, and others were beings of varying power. Not all of them were in the same category of power as Nocturnal, but they still remained stronger than me.
Despite their power however, they mostly ignored us, and for those who didn't, they were scared away by God's light.
I couldn't help but smile as I thought of that. Calling God like that felt a little weird, now that I started learning more about it. Nocturnal was a God. Whatever was sending us to those worlds, it was more of a strong program. It feels a bit like a system from a fanfiction, actually.
My thoughts came to an abrupt halt however as we arrived near our destination. The entrances of the different worlds were pretty similar to one another, as they all had a sort of membrane that isolated them from the Chaos, and some had beings within keeping a watchful eye over said membrane.
But this world we were approaching, it was different. Vastly so.
There was a membrane, but it felt much thinner than other membranes. However, it also had a second layer of defense, which was a thick layer of God's light.
As we approached the barrier, I prepared myself and expended my senses to study it, but I was shocked to find that the moment we passed through the barrier, I felt my forces leave me, my connection to the Force disappearing and my Cursed Energy fading away.
I only managed to remain awake for an instant past the barrier, and saw a planet that looked familiar yet foreign. But from the corner of my eyes, I spotted several tentacle-like appendages, slowly surrounding the planet.
All I felt was a mild headache, before I lost consciousness.
---
I woke up to the feeling of a needle piercing through my skin. My eyes opening wide, I instantly felt that my body had been pumped full of drugs.
I could also feel that my powers were still nowhere in sight, my Cursed Energy completely erased and my connection to the Force was barely at a tenth of my usual. The Super Soldier Serum also no longer coursed through my veins.
I was not powerless however as my first two Genetic Constraints were still opened, and my lifeforce and spiritual energy were still abundant.
That's how I not only felt the drugs being suppressed by my lifeforce, but also that whatever had just been injected into me, was no drug. It felt like a liquid condensation of mental power, and it was heading straight for my head.
I tried to stop it, but found manipulating my spiritual energy to be quite different from usual. It took me a moment to get the hang of it, and to surround the foreign spiritual with my own, and to completely burn off the drugs with my lifeforce.
Back in full control over my body and mind, I sat up on the table, and looked around.
There were 21 other beds, on which were not only my teammates and newbies, but also the two human creations Sarah and Jonathan had made.
But before I could do anything, portals appeared above them all, from which spindly arms came out. I tried to stop them using the Force, but even as I extended my hand I felt it was different from usual, and before I could figure out how to use it, they were taken by the arms, the portals closing behind them.
"This one's awake! Give him more blood!"
Several men who looked like doctors jumped at me, trying to put me down, while another took a syringe filled with what seemed to be blood, but I could feel was actually the liquefied spiritual energy.
Being both worried about my teammates and angry I had been helpless to do anything, I felt my anger rise within me, and the Force finally reacted as I unconsciously unleashed a strong spiritual wave. The doctors around me were only normal men, so they felt like children trying to hold me down. And with the spiritual wave, they were all dazed.
Swinging my arms, my fist passed through two of their heads, making their heads explode from the blow as the others looked on with wide eyes. Feeling too angry to think straight, I ripped the heart out of two more of them and tore off the head of the last one.
Covered in their blood, I looked around for anyone else to kill, but quickly came back to my senses as I noticed I wasn't the only one left here. Mary, who was several tables away from me, was shaking, but still with me.
Quickly moving to her side, I focused to use the Force, and placed a hand on her forehead. Doing this gave me a quick overview of her body, and she too was full of drugs. Moreover, she also had the vile spiritual energy, but she was actively fighting against it with her spiritual energy.
Using the Force, I sucked it out of her, and did the same with mine, and released them both in the air in front of me. A faint purple mist appeared in front of me, one that gave me an unsettling feeling.
I could feel there was an eye hidden within it, watching me.
But before I could investigate it, the mist disappeared, and the feeling along with it.
Knowing there was nothing I could do about it, I turned to Mary.
Although I had gotten the Vile Spirit out of her, she still had enough drugs within her to kill a normal person.
Drawing Shiroishi, I felt that my sword suddenly seemed much stronger than before. It actually hadn't changed whatsoever, but I was merely weaker.
Although my control was not as good as it used to be, Mary had been reverted to a normal human, so I quickly eliminated the drugs out of her body using Death Surgeon.
After that, she didn't take long to regain consciousness.
As soon as she did, she sat up, and after taking a look around, asked me with worried eyes, "What happened?"
