Sighing as I grabbed the metallic operation hard enough to make deep dents into it, I answered Mary question, "There is something wrong with this world, everyone else was taken away by some kind of being. Our powers bought from God also seem to have disappeared."

Mary looked worried, but in an instant her eyes turned cold as she analyzed the corpses, and remarked, "Bloodborne is supposed to take place in a somewhat Victorian era. Those doctors are modern ones."

I nodded, as I had noticed it too. Offering her a hand, I helped her get off the operation table, and revealed, "We are within a tall building, and I can feel several people coming towards the room. They should arrive within two minutes."

Mary frowned and asked, "How do you know?"

Taking a moment to think about it, I gave her my theory, "It looks like the power we bought from God have been erased, but anything we got ourselves didn't. My Genetic Constraints are still opened, and my lifeforce and spiritual energy, which I got myself, are still there."

As I said that however, I noticed something on Mary's wrist. Or rather, the lack of something. Her watch. I looked at my own wrist, and found mine to be missing. Following my gaze, Mary realized it too as she muttered, "Something went wrong. We are not supposed to be here, are we?"

Passing a hand through my hair, I took a breath before saying, "Looks like it. But first things first, we need to get out of here. Get on my back."

Mary did not even question my words as she climbed on my back and clung to me like a koala. Although I no longer had the Super Soldier Serum coursing through my veins, my body remained in the same proportions, giving her ample space to cling to.

Seconds later, the doors to the room were forced open by several security agents, all armed with guns.

Their faces quickly changed as they saw the blood, and their hands started trembling as they looked at us with fear. I ignored them, and walked to the wall behind me. With a wave of my hand, I tore a large hole into it, revealing a modern city.

Both Mary and I paused however as we got a look of this city.

Not so far in the distance, I could see a tall clock tower, as well as a large palace next to it.

We weren't just in any city, we were in London.

"S-stop right there!"

I looked over my shoulder at the armed men, before flying out through the hole.

Quickly rising through the sky, Mary and I looked around the city, and we both confirmed our guess. This really was London.

"Do you think… we are back on Earth?"

Although the same suspicion had been creeping within me, I still gulped as I heard her question, and replied, "There are plenty of fictional works that take place on Earth, this could be any one of them."

Mary remained silent for a moment, before revealing, "I have a way to tell if this is our Earth. All I need is a computer with access to the Internet."

"Should be easy enough to find in here."

I felt Mary move slightly behind me, and say, "Well, I suppose there was an easier way."

Curious about what she was talking about, I turned to look behind, and saw the tower in which we were. A set of large letters were written on it.

'Nodeo'

This was a name I recognized, simply because it was the biggest pharmaceutical company in the world. In my world.

"Real companies rarely appear within stories for legal reasons. And I can't think of one that has Nodeo in it."

I couldn't help but remain in the air in a daze, not moving. For Mary, the shock was not as big, as she had only gone through a single mission, but the same couldn't be said about me.

Not only was this my 5th mission, but with my training, it had been more than a year since I was taken away.

I always kept a hint of doubt, but I was getting more and more sure this was really Earth. This world felt different from the others, and that's not even mentioning the erasure of our powers.

"Are you alright?" Mary asked, still clutching my back strongly.

I sighed but did not answer her question, "We should go away, we probably alerted the government, or whoever else is really in charge."

Mary hesitated before revealing, "I know a place, but the people there might be hostile to us."

I chortled at that, "So what? With my current powers, can you think of anyone who could stop me?"

"There might be."

I abruptly turned to look at her, and saw that her expression was completely serious. I repeated, "You think someone on Earth could seriously stop me?"

Mary explained, "I'm not saying they are stronger, but given the proper means, then yes, there might be a group of people capable of stopping you."

Flying down towards the outer parts of London, I asked, "Who are those people? Secret rulers of the world?"

Mary snorted, "No, although they have some degree of influence all over the world. They aren't shadow rulers however."

"What are they then?"

"That's the thing about them, even I don't really know the goals of that organization, only that they take orphans from all around the world and train them."

I narrowed my eyes at that, and asked tentatively, "Were you and Helena part of those orphans?"

Mary smiled with nostalgia, "We were. It was a harsh place, but we always had each other's back."

Although curious about her past, I could feel this was a touchy subject, one which she should open up about on her own, so I instead asked, "Will we have to worry about them then? A secret organization plotting in the shadows… that sounds a bit cliche. Please don't tell me their name is a serpent's name."

Mary's eyes creased as she looked amused, "No, they aren't evil. They are called Prometheus."

"As in the Titan who gave mankind fire?"

"The one and only."

Taking a moment to think about it, I landed somewhere where I didn't feel any gazes on us, and as she leapt off my back I remarked, "Taking children from all over the world sounds like something an evil organization would do."

Mary rolled her eyes at that, "They take orphans, and while the training is tough, it isn't spartan either. They don't just send us to face death to cull out the weak."

"You still didn't tell me what they do, however. What purpose could Prometheus serve?"

Mary sighed at that, "That, I don't know. Well, officially, they fight to ensure peace through the world and keep order-"

"That still sounds like an evil organization to me."

She ignored me, "-but Helena and I believe they have another goal they never said anything about, and now I think I am starting to understand what it is."

Although I was curious about this epiphany, I first asked, "You keep saying them. Aren't you part of Prometheus?"

Her expression faltered for a fraction of a second, something a normal person wouldn't have noticed, but I did. I didn't point it out though as she muttered, "I'll spare you the details, but Helena and I had to kill one of the Councilmen of Prometheus. They are the leaders of the organization."

Raising an eyebrow, I asked, "Then, the man following us is here for you, and not me?"

I felt surprise emanate from both Mary and the man hiding in the shadows of the nearby alley, before he jumped out to attack us.

He had a dagger in each hand, and his eyes shone with murder as he attacked.

That's cute.

Simply by lifting a finger, the man was lifted from the ground. To his credit, he tried to throw his daggers at us, but they were easily stopped as he now found himself stuck in mid-air, unable to do anything but watch us with cold eyes.

I smiled, and Mary warned, "Don't you dare!"

This only made it better as I whispered excitedly, "Evil organization!"
