Kurus, The Trident of Poseidon

(Rui's Pov)

"Nothing. I was just scolding an uncultured dog. Why?" I replied with an innocent face. This enraged her. I could see the smoke coming out of her head.

"You wanna pick a fight with me? Then so be it," she said while letting me go.

No, I didn't want a fight. I want food, not some dumb girl annoying me.

"I am sorry madam, I don't know what you are talking about, I am just a normal guy," I replied while trying to look innocent.

'I wish someone would come right now and stop her before she did anything reckless,' I thought while looking at her. I could smell from miles away that she was a troublemaker.

Nothing good was going to happen if I stayed around her. I could tell that she was an ego queen. So I silently started walking away from her.

"Where do you think you are going after insulting me?" she asked me in a threatening tone. I wish I could fall dead on the ground right now.

And why was this receptionist just watching and doing nothing? I could clearly see in her eyes that she was enjoying the show.

'Why do I only have oddballs around me? All I want is to be friends with a normal person,' I thought while sighing.

Since this girl wasn't going to leave me alone until I did what she wanted, I asked her about it.

"I want you to have a battle with me," she said while conjuring a trident out of thin air. As soon as she summoned the trident, the room became cold. I could sense the rise in the level of moisture in the air around me.

Her trident was silver in colour with some black patches on the handle. The Ki surrounding it was a dark shade of blue, unlike my sky-blue Ki.

'Interesting. Her armament is stronger than mine' I thought while looking at her armament. This is the first time I have seen an armament except mine.

And the density of Ki around it was way higher than mine. I wonder what she is capable of. How far behind was I from my peers?

'She looks around my age so she shouldn't be that strong. Even though her weapon is strong she herself isn't,' I thought while trying to assess her battle prowess.

"Oy, are you going to fight or chicken out?" shouted the girl, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Fine, but if I win, I want you to buy me three bowls of the best quality ramen that you can find," I said, giving in to her demands.

"Seriously? That's what you want?" she asked me with a surprised expression.

"Yea, that's what I want,"

"First you insulted me, the sole heir of the Katsu clan. And now you are making fun of me. Fine, let me show you your place," she said while walking out of the shrine.

I didn't say anything and quietly followed her.

We took a left turn as soon as we left the shrine and walked on a grassy path leading to an open field.

There were some training dummies laying around here and there. It looks like this place is used by people for training.

The air here had more Ki than other places. 'I wonder what's the reason for it,' I thought while looking around the place. There were craters formed here and there and the ground looked burnt up in some places.

The field was huge. One could easily make a football field over here.

'Damn this school is rich,' I thought while whistling. If I sell this land, I will be rolling in money. But why don't I know about this place?

I have lived in Tokyo ever since I was born. If there was an empty space as big as this, I would come to know about it. But here I was totally clueless about it.

So to clear my confusion I asked the girl about it, "Hey, why is this place this big? I am pretty sure no one in Tokyo knows about this empty land?"

Tokyo is one of the most populous cities in the world. There were hardly enough houses for people to accommodate.

The rent prices are at an all-time high. If there was empty land like this, people would have definitely gossiped about it. If they knew about it.

"Don't tell me that you don't know the reason. Are you making fun of me again? How can an exorcist belonging to the Raijin High not know this?" she said while glaring at me.

She was suspicious of me. Maybe she thinks I am trolling her again.

"I joined this place not too long ago, so that's why I don't know about it," I said while scratching my head. If I told her that I came to know what yokais are yesterday, she would kill me. And I don't think I am old enough to die.

"It's because of Kaizen Itoki Sama's illusion. He's able to cast different kinds of illusions using his armament. I don't even know what he is fully capable of. He's the Principal of the infamous Raijin High of Asia as well as a Zenin rank exorcist," she said with eyes filled with admiration.

'I guess she has this side of her as well. So Diego-san's sensei's name is Itoki,' I said while soaking in all the information this girl said.

"Now get over here," she said while walking to the middle of the field. After that, she took out an orange paper which had weird symbols printed on it.

The size of the paper was around the size of my palm.

"What are you gonna do with this?" I asked her.

"Be quiet and watch, peasant," she said while throwing the paper onto the ground.

As soon as the paper hit the ground, I could sense a layer of Ki covering everything in a 100-metre radius even though it wasn't visible to the naked eye.

"So, will this work as a protection preventing any attacks from going outside?" I asked her.

"Yes, genius. Now get ready to fight," she said to me in a sarcastic tone.

Without wasting a single moment, I put my hand forward and summoned Kusanagi.

"That's a nice sword you got there," the girl said to me while smirking. She seemed confident in her abilities.
