chapter 35

Tatooine

It's been a few minutes since the Jedi landed in one of the spaceports in Tatooine and they were currently walking around in sperate groups so they wouldn't draw too much attention to themselves.

There were all in three groups with each group consisting of a Jedi knight or master with their padawan. There were a few clone troopers as well, but all of them were tasked with guarding the transports they arrived in.

Currently with Obi-wan and Waneta, they were seen walking around the buildings looking.

"What exactly are we looking for master." Waneta says to Obi-wan as they pass by different types of species with some that gives them a weird look before moving on.

"We're here to look for any evidence of the Terrans operating here. If it's true that they are working here...things may get messy for us and the republic." Obi-wan says turning his head a little to Waneta while walking on.

"I find it hard to believe the terrans would be behind all of this. I mean this planet is pretty much a dust ball with almost no value to it." She says as she starts to think to herself

"Well the hutts may be one of their goals because of all the deaths of their species so far, but I still don't see how eliminating them would help them besides breaking the economy in the outer rims."

"That's what we think their goal is as well, but I think there is something else they are trying to achieve." Obi-wan says as they walk down street after street.

After a few more minutes of this. They are about to go through other measures of finding anything on their mission until they spot multiple figures on the rooftops. Waneta eyeing them in the corner of her eyes sees that they are armed with various blasters.

'They didn't give them any of our weapons yet?' Waneta thinks to herself.

"Umm master?"

"Yes my Padawan." Obi-wan says with a small smile.

"We're walking into a trap and I'm pretty sure you know that already. Don't you." Waneta says as one of her eyebrows twitches a little knowing he is going to do one of his tricks again that may or may not cause trouble for them.

"This will be the easiest way to get information on them and figure out who they are working for. It may not always work, but it has a chance of working."

"Whatever you say master. But I still don't like your idea of falling into their trap." Waneta says.

As they continue to walk into a trap. On the other side of the city Anakin and Ashoka were inside a tavern. It was crowded inside as many people were looking at the bounties that were put up.

"The hutts must be desperate looking for those responsible." Anakin says as many of them make bets with each other on which bounty they will complete or bets that one of them will die trying.

Every now and than an extremely high bounty was put up on those suspected of working with the assassinations of the hutts.

Every single one that was put up was never completed yet because the said person would completely disappear and those that had a trace on them would also disappear never to be heard from again.

"I still can't believe that someone would be crazy enough to go against the hutts. No one has been able to touch them for years and now an unknown group is terrifying them. The situation for them is looking bad." Ashoka says.

"I think we all know who is behind this. They are just to scared to admit it." Anakin says as they walk past rows of booths.

"You think the terrans are the ones actually behind this?"

"I don't think. I know they are. I been on this planet for years and no one was able to make a move against them without getting killed, yet this unknown group is doing this easily. It has to be them." Anakin says narrowing his eyes in thought.

After walking for a while they stop in front of a table that had a craving of a skull on it with a small amount of dried red blood on it.

"Well that's unsettling." Ashoka says looking at the carving closely.

"Come on snips. We don't have time for sightseeing just yet." Anakin says as he takes a step ready to move on.

Ashoka looks over the carving a little longer before turning to move on with Anakin, but someone's next words stop them in their track.

"I never thought I would see two jedi at the same time in a tavern on Tatooine." A person says as the two Jedi quickly turn around with their hands on the hilt of their lightsabers.

"Whoa now. I don't mean no harm to ya, but I couldn't help but notice y'all looking at that carving right there." A random person leaning against the wall says to them.

"What do you want. I know you want something so spit it out." Anakin says a little aggressive.

The man only smirks a little, not fazed by his aggressive attitude at all.

"What if I told you I can give you a little information about who you're looking for."

Anakin takes out a few credits before tossing them to the man who grabs them looking over each of them carefully.

"Now talk."

"You sure are impatient for a Jedi."

The man walks up to the table before he points at the carving that was on it.

"You see three people came in here a few days ago and I got to say. They caused quite the commotion."

"I didn't see any of their faces, but they looked more like bounty hunters from afar. That is until you got closer to them. They were like giants compared to everyone else."

"But what does that have to do with this carving. Did one of them make this?" Anakin says trying to make him get to the point.

"I was getting to that part, but yes. One of them made it. Not only that, but I am almost positive that they were terrans."

"And how do you know that." Ashoka says.

"Because some trouble maker had a..uhh.. incident. Yes let's call it that. An incident. Man put a knife right through his hand and than pushed his head towards his." He says like he was telling a story.

"I don't know exactly what he saw, but he said something about a skull which I think is that carving right there. Ain't no skull I've ever seen before, but it must have been that."

"And how does this exactly prove they were terrans." Ashoka still not believing this story all the way.

Hearing this the man leans back on the wall with a huge smile on his face.

"Because. Who else would talk about not being from this galaxy. The terrans right? Rumors about them could have been true, but you can believe what ever you want."

"Now don't tell me y'all think I would lie now...Would I?" He says winking at them before walking off.

"Ok. That has to be officially the weirdest person I met so far." Ashoka says.

"Really. Out of everything we've been through so far, you think that's the weirdest person you met so far?" Anakin says raising an eyebrow.

"What. You've met even weirder people."

Anakin shrugs his shoulder a little before walking off again. "I know a few."

Ashoka only rolls her eyes. "Of course you do."

At another part of the city another Jedi and their padawan was walking down the streets with hoods covering there faces.

"Master are you sure we will find anything. We've been walking in dead ends without a single clue in who or even what we are looking for." The padawan says a little aggravated that they still haven't found anything yet.

"Patience. Be patient my padawan. Everything will reveal itself one way or another. We cannot rush this or we will create even bigger problems for us in the future." The Jedi says to his padawan.

"Yes master." The padawan says looking down a little embarrassed by his small outburst.

Hundreds of meters away from them up in a tall building looking over most of the city a Spartan can be seen prone as he looks in the scope of his sniper.

"I have what looks like two Jedi in my sights. One of them looks like a kid. Want them gone?" He says over his comms.

"Leave the small one alive for now. We'll deal with him personally. But the other one. Shoot to kill." A male voice says back to him.

"With pleasure noble leader." He says as he puts the Jedi in his crosshairs as he slightly applies pressure to the trigger.

"All things die soon. Whether by our hand or a matter of opportunity." He says before chuckling to himself followed by a loud boom.

With Waneta and obi-wan

Boom!!!

Blaster fire and explosions were erupting everywhere as the two used their lightsabers to block them.

"I told you this was a bad idea master!" Waneta shouts over the sounds of blaster fire and explosions. She quickly sends some of the bolts back at their attackers as she tries to hit them in non fatal places on there body.

"How about we don't walk directly in a trap." She says aggravated that this could have been avoided. Not because they were attacked by them, but because she knew she couldn't kill them.

"Noted. Next time I may take your advice." Obi-wan says.

"There may not be a next time." Waneta mutters to herself slightly annoyed he was making jokes at a time like this.

After a few minutes of fighting for their lives Obi-wan stops for a while almost like he was lost in thought before going back to fighting frowning a little. Waneta takes a glance at him knowing exactly what happened because she had felt it has well. The other Jedi that was with them may have been killed.

"Master. You felt that too didn't you?"Waneta questions.

"Yes. It seems we are not the only ones in trouble."

"We have to regroup with Anakin and Ashoka. They somehow knew we were coming." Obi-wan says before his comms starts to flicker meaning Anakin was trying to start a transmission with him.

Once he starts the transmission between the two Anakin immediately gets to the point.

"What is going on down there."

Er, I'm afraid we've had a... Situation." Obi-wan says as him and Waneta can be seen running blocking any blaster blocks coming at them.

"By situation. He means big explosions. We have an entire army after us right now." Waneta says.

"Try not to die before me and Ashoka gets there. We're coming towards your position." He says the two starts to run before ending the transmission.

"It seems we're on our own for now." Obi-wan says.

Waneta doesn't respond back immediately because she was slowly about to make her move to betray the republic and the order in a few moments. It was almost time for her to show her true allegiance.

Her allegiance to the Terran republic.
