Chapter 30: A New Encounter

"Did I miss you? Who are you really? Why don't you show yourse-lf… wait you're God. You're God, right?"

"Correct."

"So I died again?"

"Incorrect, you're not dead."

Of course I know that.

"Then why did you ask me?"

"To get certain about you being the God I talked while being in the Gate. So why am I here for?"

I was moving around randomly.

"Did you forget about the contract?"

"Oh… you need my help. So how can I help you then?"

"You are not going to help me."

"But the contract was to help you wasn't it?"

I'm sure it was.

"No, how can you be so sure about it?"

"Stop reading my mind."

"I'm not reading your mind but-"

"I know, I know, you are reading my thoughts."

"Then why did you say that I was reading your mind?"

"Forget about it. So what's the contract?"

"The contract was to help me balance this world's energies."

Of course I know that.

"Then why didn't you say that earlier?"

"I did say-"

"No you didn't."

I did say you stupid God.

"No, I'm not stupid."

"Okay, okay so how can I help you balance this world's energies?"

"You have to save someone for me."

"Okay, and that's it?"

"Yes."

"So whom I've to save?"

"A person."

"I know that but give me some details otherwise I won't be able to help you."

"You are about to encounter that person."

"At least tell me that person's characteristics."

"She has dark green hair."

"Okay and?"

"It's time."

"It's time? Time for what?"

As I blinked I found myself on the branch of tree.

"Huh!, What?"

I almost dropped down from there.

When did I got here?

I grabbed branches of the tree.

Did God teleported me here?

I think so.

By the way God are you with me?

I guess he's not otherwise he would have definitely answered my question since he can read my mind or thoughts.

I should be careful now. One small mistake can lead to me falling from here.

But why he had to teleport me here though? Didn't he find someplace safe like the ground.

By the way he better teleport me back to my room after the completion of this task.

He said I've to save someone with dark green colored hair but where is that person?

I better climb down and search for her.

Is she in trouble? Like someone is attacking her or something like that.

He did say I've to save her so she must be in trouble.

I was observing around while sitting down on the branch of the tree.

Can I fly by using magic?

Oh well, only way to find out is to jump from here and try using magic to make yourself float which is too risky and I'm not going to do that.

Wait, who's that?

I saw someone running on the pathway.

Why is she running like she saw something -woah, woah what, what is that thing? A giant snake? Some new kind of monster? And it's following her.

Oh no, it's going get her, I better not let that happen.

I created three big sword made up of the ice and attacked the monster with it in order to cut the monster's head into half and rest of the body.

Since I was in high ground chopping the snake monster's head was somewhat easy and I was going to control the sword from there, I activated the link between sword and myself.

I made the sword fall exactly on top of its neck, middle of its body and its tail with great speed.

As it got beheaded its head moved a little away from its body due to the shockwave caused by my sword and rest of its body cut into two parts.

I made the icy sword disappear from there.

Now, she's safe. Let's get down and talk to her.

I began climbing down the tree.

Hope she's still there somewhere.

I didn't know how she got tripped after arriving here.

But why is she here in this forest? And she's alone too.

Why God wanted me to save her?

I better ask him, oh wait he's not going to answer so asking him that is useless.

I can ask only her and found out about the reason for her existence in this world.

Is she going to play great part in balancing this planet's energy?

I think so otherwise why would God ask me to save her, right?

Anyway let's just go and talk to her.

Where's she?

I climbed down.

"Hey…, hey, anyone…!"

I yelled.

Where's she?

Is it because of darkness I'm not seeing her. There's no way the moon is super bright. I can even read books.

Where's she hiding?

"If you don't want to get eaten by Monster then come out otherwise you'll get food of creepy kind of monster here in this forest."

"So… you better come out."

Huh, no showing up.

"Come out!"

I shouted loudly and with anger.

"Or I'm gonna leave you here alone."

A kid showed up.

"Ahh, finally."

I moved towards her.

"Now explain about yourself and why that thing was pursuing you."

She's in tears.

She do have dark green hair so does that mean I competed God's task.

Why she is not speaking.

By the way she cute.

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna do anything to you. I'm good boy, you know."

She is starting to cry.

Why?, why?, why? What did I do that made her to cry?

"Don't cry, I'm here, I'm here for you. You're not alone. I'm here…"

I petted her head while casting healing spell on her without her noticing about it.

Just calm down and be a good girl and tell me about yourself afterwards.

"My…"

"My mom…"

Mom? Is she also here somewhere? Maybe she was buying some time for her escape by fighting with the snake monster.

"Okay, let's search for your mom."

Hope she's not dead otherwise her pour soul will be torn apart which I don't want.

She was sobbing.

"Be a good girl and stop crying, we're definitely going to find your mom."

"…"

She nodded while mumbling something softly.

"Take my hand."

She grabbed my hand and we started to move in search of her mother.

She looks like kid of age three I think.

Should I ask about her age?

"So I'm Jason Eylvis, what's yours? I mean your name. Will you tell me your name so that we can be friends?"

As I told her she stopped walking.

"Um, did something happen?"

As I looked at her I questioned.

Wow, she's now a little bit joyful and happy.

"I can cast healing magic on you so tell me if you have any injuries or bruises, okay."

Well, I already casted healing magic so she should be feeling fine however I can cast more if she isn't feeling good.

"… no, I'm good."

So aren't you going to tell me your name?

"So is it too much to ask for your name?"

"Um… I'm Anni."

I don't know why but I've to stop telling people my full name without them asking about it.

"Anni, what a beautiful name it is."

She is now calm should I ask her about the situation?

I think I should first find her mother.

And I can ask her the explanation for their situations.

"Will you be my tour guide- I mean can you show the way and take me to the location where you lost your mom?"

"Okay."

She said softly.

"Mom!…, mom!…"

She began to yell after reaching some point.

Okay, so she must be near somewhere.

I better use my hearing now to search for her.

"Anni, would you stop yelling for a moment? I want to do something that's going to find your mother magically, okay?"

I don't know why but my hearing is really great.

I just have to focus and I can hear everything.

I mean not everything but the things I desired to perceive.

"Yes."

She nodded while being worried.

"Stay with me, okay."

If that monster killed or ate her, that'll be real bad.

She better be alive otherwise I've to nurture her till I found someone to cherish her instead of me.

If she happens to be dead, that's going to be super bad. She'll have nowhere to go and no one to be around.

Wait, what about her dad? If his existence happens to be known then I don't have to worry about her but she is only calling for her mother earlier so that means her father might be somewhere else, right?

Or she doesn't have father or her father died before she got into this world.

If that so then I've to personally take her to my parents as to ask them if she can stay with us and I've to take all the responsibilities.

No, I don't want that.

I better find her mother and heal her no matter what.

Focus, focus…

I closed my eyes after observing the area.

I was so focused that I could hear things from distance.

I heard someone's heartbeat and mumbling the word 'ani'.

Ani?

Anni?

Ani? Maybe it's her nickname so she must be her mother.

I opened my eyes.

Okay so I heard her from that direction.

I better hurry otherwise she'll lose her life.

"Ani, I found your mom, let's go to her."

Wait, don't just use her nickname as if you are someone closed to her.

We ran towards the direction of the noise.
