Ch 21:- Deep Ones

[It's a Deep one at the rank of Awakened Beast with 50 HP if you look at it's head you would be able to see it's HP]

'I already saw it that why I asked what was it,'

Above the creature head there was a health bar showing its massive vitality.

[HP:50/50]

'Fuck this my first mob encounter at least give me something weak to fight.'

Rayne immediately drew his gun and pointed it towards the creature's head before firing, as a first-timer he completely missed his target, alerting it. The beast leapt forward toward the small island he was standing on. Rayne shot two consecutive bullets, this time more calmly. It hit the creature in the knee, making it stagger a bit before kneeling down. Feeling the opportunity, Rayne immediately summoned the katana, dashed forward, and plunged the blade deep into the Fishman's body before slashing vertically upward, splitting its head in half.

After that, Rayne knelt down on the ground and started to butcher the beast like a professional. He cut through the meat to look for the soul shard. After some digging, he finally found the soul shard and immediately stored it in his inventory.

'Sigh, I guess that was a weak one,'

Suddenly, several gurgling sounds appeared, revealing five Deep Ones.

'It seems the sound and smell of fresh blood attracted this beasts out of there den,' Rayne thought.

This time with more confidence Rayne immediately activated [Rain of Blood] enchantment which creates 5 blood bullet for every 10% from main health, he then started to shoot rapidly at each of their head hoping to get a head shot but Rayne was not fast enough, after the first two had fallen the remaining three become even more aggressive and started attacking him with their claws and often trying to bite him but Rayne kept on dodging their attack either by rolling or by leaping backward.

'I can't keep on dodging them and using gun against them is becoming more and more difficult as more of this creature seems to be appearing,' Rayne gritted his teeth his stamina slowly dwindling away as he kept on dodging their continuous attack without a rest right now he was overwhelmed by their mere number. Not liking were it was leading to Rayne immediately stored away his gun then summoned his katana and started to attack them with renewed vigor. His fighting strategy was simple slash and slash with occasionally kicking them to create distance, during his fight he had slain almost 10 beast but he had also sustained a high amount of injury which was currently healing.

Rayne checked his HP before deciding to perform an idiotic move, he took a low stance then pressed his palm against the blade so hard that it was now bleeding and coating the blade with his own blood then in one quick motion unleashed a blood slash in a wide arc hitting one of the beast right in the chest and cleanly slicing through it. After the attack a sudden sense of dizziness took over Rayne but it was soon gone as soon as it came. Now in front of Rayne stood the last remaining Deep One and oddly through out the fight with others of it's kin it hadn't attacked him once it looked more like it was observing him.

As Rayne took stance and got ready to fight it, the beast suddenly said in a casual manner "You are quite a powerful human I have to admit but you can't get past me this is your end any last words,"

Rayne was stunned hearing it talk in human language but he didn't allow it show on his face and just stared at it with a blank face.

"It seems you can't talk let's fight then," the Deep One said and started to grin before summoning a very long katana called an odachi out of nowhere.

'...'

'WTF how is this possible don't tell me he also has a system just like me,' Rayne thought.

[Idiot can't you see what he is wearing, it's a spatial ring]

'Oh... wait a minute did you just call me an idio-' Rayne didn't got the time to finish as the beast lunged forward it was extremely fast, but not fast enough to not give him enough time to react. Raising the katana, he dashed forward to block it's furious assault and shuddered, the force of the impact sending a shock through his entire body. He then pushed the beast blade with his, causing it to stagger briefly. Rayne then followed up with a low side-kick aimed at the beast's leg, causing it to kneel down on one knee. Seeing an opportunity, Rayne attempted to plunge his blade into the beast, but it quickly raised its own blade and blocked the attack. As a result, Rayne's blade shattered into pieces upon impact, causing him to stumble backwards slightly due to the reaction force of his attack.

Seizing the opportunity, the beast immediately went for a piercing attack with his blade. On instinct, Rayne swatted away the blade with his foot and followed up with a reverse spinning kick aimed at the beast's head, causing it to stumble back from the powerful impact. For the first time, the beast was stunned, as if it hadn't expected such an attack. Taking advantage of the stun, Rayne grabbed the arm that was holding the odachi and rotated it slightly. Feeling the movement, the beast snapped out of its stun, but before it could react, Rayne attacked with his elbow in a quick motion, breaking the bones on impact. Rayne then dug his nails into the beast's arm and forcefully yanked and tore it away. In another swift motion, he plunged the Odachi into the area where he believed the beast's heart was located and slashed upward, slicing its head in two.

"Hah... hah... huff" Rayne was panting after the whole fight. At that time several system message started to appear.

'Hum so that the reason why I started to feel a little weak after that move but didn't the book said if one where to use their core in dormant stage then it would be dangerous,' Rayne thought.

[It is not dangerous it is just that it effect one's foundation if they use it in its dormant stage, but if you continue to use it then it would result in a stunt growth.]

'Ohh I understand now,'

Rayne was still holding onto the hand that held the Odachi. He gently placed his hand on the sword and commanded his system to store it. Fortunately, the hand he was grabbing onto also had the storage ring. After taking off the storage ring from it's finger, he attempted to store the storage ring, but a system message appeared.

'So, I guess I can't store it then but I am curious what's inside this thing.'

'Did this belonged to some legendary alchemist,' Rayne thought while completely ignoring some of the high value skill books.

[No, it doesn't seem so if my estimation are correct then this belongs to a first year alchemy student.]

'Oh! ' although Rayne was saddened he didn't let it show on his face at that time another system message appeared.

'Yes I want to learn them all,' Rayne said mentally after that an influx of knowledge entered his mind basic knowledge on how to perform alchemy then how to control Flame freely with the help of a wand to channel the soul essence and then on how to perform a movement technique.

'Wait a minute wand I thought this world was like some cultivation world then where does this wand comes from,'

'Sigh, Ok but the most important question is why didn't the beast used any of this while still in being possession of such an items.'

Rayne was feeling thirsty as well as extremely hungry right now probably because his body expended all the energy into his healing so he immediately took out one fasting pill and immediately ate it before drinking a whole lot of water then he went on to check and take out soul shard from each of the beasts corpse but only three beast gave items or to be more precise raw materials the last three beast that he had slain which where of high level actually provided something called raw hide, it would have been easy if he was able to pick it up like any other game drop but apparently that was not the case in order to gain the item he actually needed to skin all three of the beast. After skinning and storing the raw hide in his inventory he climbed on of the nearest rock and decided to rest a little bit before continuing his journey.

As Rayne lying on the rock and recovering his energy he decided to open his system interface wanting to see how his system interface looked like.
