The Demon Captain (1)

Link left the underground palace and started heading back home. The Golden Sword in his hands, trying to see what he could use it for.

"I don't have any use for any of the functions I already know of, but the last one might be something major since all Royal Families are keeping it to themselves" Link muttered, sending the Sword back to his Inventory.

...

"Hey Luke, how is your project going?" A 16 year old girl sat on a bench next to a blond boy. He had a book in his hands, completely not hearing her.

"Luke!" The girl flicked him on his head.

This was Rechanguard Academy Park. Students get to have their peace and quiet while enjoying the beauty of nature. Kids sat everywhere as they enjoyed socializing or studying.

"Kelly!" Luke was startled. "Sorry, i didn't see you there" He said with a smile. Behind him, a blurry round object was falling from the sky, grabbing Kelly's attention. The moment it landed on the ground, the nightmare started.

BOOM!

An earth shaking explosion sent the two kids flying. One hit a tree with enough force to break all of his bones, while the other kept rolling on the ground, smashing into a wall.

BOOM! BOOM!

More explosions shook the area. The once peaceful Park turned into a hell hole. Bodies were everywhere, either cut in half or broken in a disturbing fashion.

"W-what is happening?!" A Teacher looking out of the Academy window muttered under his breath. The Park he loved to look at as he worked on his research was now littered with holes, blood, fire and death.

"L-Luke?" Kelly got up, feeling her body shaking, a wave of pain shocked her as she couldn't move her leg. "Sana!" She muttered a spell, feeling the pain ease and her leg twitching slightly. "Sana! Sana! Sana!" She kept casting the healing spell over and over again until she was able to move her body properly.

Getting up with some difficulty, Kelly made her way to where she was sitting, trying to look for her best friend.

"LUKE!" She yelled, finally landing her eyes on him. Unlike her, Luke was not lucky enough as a tree was in his way. Kelly was thrown away and by the time she slammed into the wall, her speed was reduced by a lot. While Luke did not go very far, slamming into the tree, breaking his back and most of his bones.

"K-k-kelly!" Luke muttered her name with a mouthful of blood. The whites of his eyes were red, unable to focus.

"LUKE!" Kelly pushed herself towards him as she kneeled down next to him. "Sana!" She muttered. "Sana! Sana! Sana!" Her spell seemed to help Luke slightly, but it was not enough. His injuries were too severe for a Level 2 Spell to have an effect. She couldn't do anything but watch her childhood friend, the one that she had been with for as long as she can remember fade in front of her. His eyes shut as her heart slowly broke into millions of pieces.

"LUKE!! NOO!" She yelled, hugging his body as she wept.

This scene was happening all around the place. A brother crying next to his sister's corpse, a group helping their unlucky friend survive...

"WHAT HAPPENED HERE!" A Mage flew down, landing in the middle of the chaos. Looking at the sky, portals were slowly closing and opening, a sinister laughter echoed to everyone's ears.

The Master Mage looked around, seeing innocent kids dead everywhere. Ones were barely still alive, crawling out of fires, missing limbs with their faces completely disfigured.

BOOM!

A similar and terrifying sound came from a different area in the Kingdom.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

More shook the ground, coming from everywhere. The Castle glowed as a dome covered the City, protecting them from more attacks. The Dome shook as more and more attacks hit its exterior.

"ALL MAGES!" A powerful voice echoed. A group of people stood in front of the Castle. This was the King and his Knights. "SPLIT UP AND MOVE OUT. HEAL ALL YOU CAN AND REASSURE THE PEOPLE!"

Link arrived near the Kingdom, seeing a transparent Dome covering the whole area, with Portals on top of it. Circular objects with runes all over them were being thrown, creating loud and terrifying explosions on top of it.

"We're under attack!" Link muttered. Quickly heading towards one of the portals.

"Zero!" He called.

<Yes?>

"You said you're analyzing the realm those fuckers are moving in and looking for a way to enter, have you come up with a spell yet?" Link never forgot about the Task he gave Zero, and now was hoping for a result.

<I managed to find the frequency, but making a spell that'll allow you to enter and exit as you wish is not easy.. Plus, this realm is weird and very complicated, i still need more time!>

"Time is the one thing we do not have at this moment!" He spoke.

[Let me see!]

Zero and Ora were conversing inside Link's head, but he couldn't understand a single word. It was too fast for him to comprehend yet, even with his Level.

'These two were really created by powerful beings weren't they!' Link thought to himself.

A while later, as Link stood there contemplating what to do if they failed to create the spell, a notification appeared.

<New Active Skill: Realm Travel>

<Realm Travel: Allows the User access into realms beyond a Mortal's reach. 1M MP per Jump (2 Registered Realms)>

[My Master was an expert in space and time. You can thank me later]

"You two are awesome!" Link muttered, activating the Skill straight away.

"Master, the Dome is indestructible, we can't do anything!" A Demonic black figure spoke. Its eyes were red as blood, the horns on its head were short but sharp, its mouth had unending waves of sharp teeth, on its back, a pair of bat wings were tucked into each other.

"If you bunch of trash do not make progress, you'll be replaced!" A 7 foot tall figure with canine legs and sharp and giant horns on its head snarled. It grabbed the Demon Pawn that just reported and bit its head off.

CRUNCH!

The crunching noise echoed through the dark and eerie place. No light could be seen anywhere other than the 2 Moons in the sky.

The Demon Pawns all around were terrified. They ran around, grabbing a bomb shaped item from the multiple barrels around and threw them out of the Portals.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The sound passed through, echoing in the space.

WOSH!

A Wave of flames rose all around, targeting the barrels. When the tiniest flame touched one of the Bombs, it blew up, causing a chain reaction.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING YOU MORONS!" The Demon Captain yelled, watching the Pawns that were assigned to him die one after the other.

...

Outside, the King and the Mages around him could hear the sounds of explosions radiating from the Portals.

"Did they make a mistake?" One of the Mages asked.

"I do not know!" The King muttered.

...

Inside the Realm, a few meters away from the explosions, a head popped up from the shadows, watching the Demons run around in panic as they died one after the other.

"This feels good!" Link muttered.

With his Shadow Dive Skill, this Realm was his territory. Looking to the left, the Demon Captain was trying to kick the barrels away, attempting to save as many of his Pawns as he could. He walked into the explosions like they were nothing, leaving not even a scratch on his scaly skin.

<You think you can kill him?>

"That thing is as strong as a Level 8 Beast, so I'll die easily if an attack lands on me, but with my Heavy Strike and my Mana Pool, I might be able to kill it.. I will need a lot of Luck though!" Link muttered.

<You know nothing about it or what Skills and Abilities it might have, I don't think It's a risk we should take!>

Link was silent for a few seconds before he sighed, leaving the shadows and standing in the open.

"It's too late for that!" He spoke, looking at the Demon Captain as it stared back at him.
