Demon Knight (3)

The Demon Knight's eyes scanned the team, seeing their panicked faces. They thought that a bombardment like that would put an end to their enemy but he appeared fine and well, even a little mad which was not in their favor.

Noah and Ariel looked at each other, nervous of what's about to come. It was at that moment the Knight stood up, showing his now canine-like legs, bulging with muscles.

AWOO!

He lifted his head and looked at the moon, releasing an ear piercing howl, and for a second there, they could have sworn they saw the Moon glow a little brighter for a second.

"What're we going to do now?" Marzia asked Noah and Ariel, worry plastered all across her face.

"We fight until we can't" Noah muttered. "And hope the captain stops it before that thing kills us!"

Looking back at the Demon Knight, they held their breath, seeing him get on all fours, ready to pounce.

The first person the Demon Knight rushed towards was Jhuler. Back when Ganthor and Jhuler both separated and took position on the Knight's left and right, it did not go unnoticed. Jhuler was a big guy hence his speed was lacking compared to the rest. The Demon knight was not lacking in strength, and when he's against Jhuler, he did not lack in speed either.

BAM!

Jhuler did not panic and swung a giant Hammer at the incoming enemy, putting all of his strength into it with an extra boost from a Spell.

Unfortunately, it did not go as he expected. The Demon Knight smacked the Hammer on the side, with enough speed and strength to change its course, striking the ground beside him. A faint grin appeared on the Knight's face as his claws glowed. He activated some kind of ability.

CLINCK!

As he swung his arm, aiming at Jhuler's exposed stomach, an arrow flew towards him, forcing him to cut his attack short and deflect the red arrow. But this only bought Jhuler a second. The speed everything happened in was beyond Jhuler's comprehension Level. He did attempt to jump back, after seeing Ariel's attack, but he couldn't even pull his leg back before the Demon Knight looked back at him.

"WHerE dO yOu thInK yOu'Re GoiNg!" The Demon Knight's voice was completely different now, sounding like an old radio.

BOOM!

Seeing no other way to save Jhuler, Ganthor threw a Bomb in their midst. He hoped to separate them both, not worrying about hurting Jhuler in the process. Injury is better than death.

Jhuler bounced on the floor once before stopping. His skin was burnt as blood seeped out of his mouth. He quickly stood up after, turning around and running away.

BOOM! BOOM!

Ganthor and Helga threw a couple more after seeing the Knight not emerging from the smoke.

"IT DidN't WoRk tHe First TIME" A voice echoed. "AnD iT WoN't WOrk ThIs TiMe!"

A dark sphere emerged from the smoke suddenly, heading towards Ganthor. Its speed was terrifying as it reached him in the blink of an eye.

"The f…" Before Ganthor could finish speaking, a kick hit him on the right side of his head, sending him away like a ball. He smacked into countless trees, breaking them in half until he stopped on the last one. Losing consciousness.

"GANTHOR!" Helga yelled, fearing the worst. "You fucker!" She glared at the Demon Knight crouching in front of her. "IRON FORTRESS!" She exclaimed loudly as the illusion of a giant fortress appeared behind her. Her eyes became grey with her skin. She raised her sword upwards and yelled again. "Fire Meteor!"

The sky suddenly lit up, showing the fear on Marzia, Noah, Ariel and Jhuler's faces. They understood what Helga was trying to do, and their hearts sped up.

"Brave" Link muttered on his branch, looking at Helga. "Fire Meteor is a powerful Spell, holding the same power as a Level 5... But for a Level 4 Spell to hold that kind of power, a great flaw existed" Link continued smiling. "It only strikes the area the caster is in!"

BOOOOM!

An explosion blinded everyone present.. Then.... No. There was no then, as chaos rained all over. The rest of the team fell as the ground underneath their feet lifted and split, even with all the distance between them and the Spell.

"HELGA!" Jhuler yelled as he ran towards the smoke, ending Marzia's healing Spell. "NOOO!"

WOSH!

A powerful wind blew away the smoke, showing the crater in the middle. Link stood in front of Helga as the area around them was completely fine. "Calm down big guy" Link said.

Everyone around led out a breath of relief as they saw their teammate completely scratch free.

ZZIIINN!

The whole area was lit up as Link used his healing Spell. Jhuler watched his skin heal in less than a second, and Ganthor was back looking like he did 2 hours ago. It was a miracle which stunned them all.

"You guys won!" Link clapped. "Congrats!"

Hearing that, they all looked at the Demon Knight's spot. A completely charred corpse was still standing with its hands covering its head. Looking like something made of clay.

"I...is it really dead?" Helga muttered.

"Yep!"

Hearing the confirmation, the team was shocked. They each stood in their position, unable to believe they managed to kill a Level 5 creature, even if they were just about to lose one of them.

*Snore*

A sound reached their ears, waking them up from the shock. Looking for the source, their eyes soon landed on Ganthor, sleeping like a kid under a tree.

HAHAHA!

Ariel started laughing, then followed by Noah and the rest.

SMACK!

Uncaring, Ariel ran towards the peaceful Ganthor and smacked him on the back of the head.

"WHO DID THAT!" He stood up in a second looking around. "WAIT... AHH MY HEAD!" As he remembered what happened to him, he quickly started checking himself for any injuries present.

SMACK!

While in the process of doing so, Ariel turned back and smacked him again on the back of his head.

"YOU BITCH!"

Link watched all of this with a smile, but it soon vanished as he ordered. "All of you, gather up in front of me" He had a serious look as he shook his head.

"I've been watching each and everyone of you during the fight" He said after they came. "And i have to say that i'm disappointed!"

Hearing him say so confused them. They just managed to kill a Level 5, so why was he disappointed?

"First of all, Ganthor and Helga.. When Jhuler was attacked by the Demon Knight, you stood there watching, hoping for the best.. Why?" Link asked.

Both Helga and Ganthor looked at each other for a second before Helga spoke. "We would have been killed any one of us the moment that thing switched its attention onto us if we got closed!"

"Are you sure?" Link asked. "You're a Tank Helga. You could have used your shield as cover for Ganthor as you tried to save your teammate, but you were too nervous and scarred to think things through!"

"And Noah.."

Hearing his name, Noah straightened his back quickly.

"While Ariel did something and shot her arrow, buying Jhuler a second, you froze completely. Can you explain what happened there?"

"I... i don't know!"

"And Jhuler, i saw you use a movement Spell when the three of you attacked.. Why did you not use it and instead boosted your strength even more? That thing was 3 times faster than you, but you used a strength boost? Are you kidding me?" Link sighed. "Ariel.. You're agile with a quick attack speed, why do you keep staying at the back instead of using the battlefield? You're fast enough that no one should be able to touch you, even if they were a Level higher, i'm certain of it now after seeing you aim and shoot at the Demon even when it was using a boosted speed"

The team went quiet as they each thought about Link's words. They felt disheartened and disappointed themselves after finding his words true.

"All of you will be organizing your Spells. You'll have your Main Spells, which you'll be focusing on mostly, and your Secondary Spells, where you'll have Spells that either do not belong to your chosen path or you might need for emergencies.. This will help you make quicker decisions when you're in a stressful situation like today." Link said.

"Helga.. pick 3 Defensive Spells and 1 Movement Spell for your Main, and fill your Secondary with a few attack Spells while everything else should be either escape Spells or Debuff Spells" Link continued.

"Ganthor.. 1 Defensive Spell, 2 Attack Spells and 1 Escape Spell for your Main, and your Secondary should be filled with Buffs."

"Ariel.. 3 Attack Spells and 1 Movement Spell for your Main and 2 Escape Spells with another 2 Stealth Spells for your Secondary"

"Jhuler.. 1 Movement Spell and 3 Attack Spells for your Main and 3 Movement Spells with a Defensive Spell for your Secondary"

"Noah.. Learn a Mind Spell for suppressing emotions a little with 3 Attack Spells for your Main while your Secondary should be filled with Defensive Spells with an Instant Teleportation Spell"

"Marzia.. Your Main should be filled with Healing Spells while your Secondary should have at least a Teleportation Spell and Buffs" Link nodded as he finished. He looked at each of them and spoke. "Understood?"

"Sir Yes Sir!"

Link knew well that they didn't have his shop or the System to help them learn Spells instantly, so he tried to stick to the Spell types he saw them use while trying to find the perfect set for each of them.. His idea was that he'll perfect it slowly as they do more missions together.

"We'll be heading around to return to the Kingdom.. We won't be taking the same route back, for now lets move up a little and set up camp, you all need some rest!" Link said before flying away.

He wished to take another route because he wanted to look in another area for any fragments.. He wanted the Attunement as fast as possible, since at this rate he'll be unlocking it himself before he receives it from the quest.
