Demon Knight (2)

Link was the captain of this team, but he did not know when he will be relieved from his position. He could see that the King put him there for a reason, which he was not very certain about, but he got the job and he will do it properly.

The Demon Knight in front of him had slits instead of average pupils, Long sharp claws and fangs, with long bent ears like a wolf. Its skin was odd, being partly hairless but other parts had fur coming out of it.

A Demon Knight is a Level above a Demon Pawn. It holds the power of a Level 5 Mage, while the Pawns varied from Level 4 and below.

Link learned from the team that Demons have rankings. The lowest being a Pawn while the highest was a King.

In an order from weakest to strongest, it goes like this. First you have the Pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen and the King.

The Demon Captain Link fought in the Spirit Realm was a Demon Rook, which had the strength of a Level 7 Mage, with terrifying physical strength.

In a field filled with bodies, Link sat on a tree while Zasho was feeding on the bodies. The Demon Knight was still standing in the same spot glaring at the team, sending shivers down their spine. They were quickly recovering, but dreading the upcoming fight.

Zasho burped as he moved on to another body. Link has been feeding this Beast Soul for a Long time now whenever he could. He never needed Zasho's help, but that did not mean he would throw him to the side.

<Blue Wolf's Beast Soul> <Pet> <Advanced Level 9> <599 000 / 1 000 000 000> <Skills: …> -- New --

When Link fed the Void Worm's body to his Beast Soul, it jumped straight to Intermediate Level 9, which not long after became Advanced Level 9. Seeing the bar and that it could keep advancing, Link was very curious. There was not a single record of a Level 10, be it amongst the Beasts or Mages. No one ever reached that Level, and the ones that did were most likely forgotten by history.

Link peeked at the now Two Headed black Wolf with deep blue eyes and oversized fangs, he nodded, being very satisfied by the badass look Zasho got after his previous Evolution.

Of course Link tested Zasho's powers, and especially his new Skills. After the Evolution, Link found out that it no longer held its old Skills, but new ones appeared that suited its new Level.

Link was unsure if it was due to the Void Worm's bodies that he ate or it was nothing but Zasho's average Evolution path, but he had a lot of Skills slightly similar to the Worm which made Link wonder.

The first Skill was called <Charge>

The meaning is in the name, as Zasho is now capable of scaring even Link whenever he uses the Skill. His large body and steel physique allowed him to leave a mark on anything that had the misfortune of being his target.

<Roar>

This Skill was somewhat familiar to the Void Worm's screech effect, as Link could still remember that day very clearly, and was surprised when Zasho used Roar on him and noting the effects.

<Frostbite>

This Skill caught Link's interest, as it nearly managed to take away both of his arms. After underestimating the chilling Aura coming off of Zasho, he was surprised when a 2 meter wide Frost wave headed his way. Being off his guard, he did nothing but hold up both his arms in front of him, causing them to freeze to the point that he took a while healing them both.

<Elemental Resistance>

This Skill, to Link's surprise, provided Zasho resistance towards all elements. But it had a limit, as it was not an immunity. Zasho now could resist 25% of all elemental attacks, which is very impressive.

<Alpha>

This Skill was a new one. Link could not find it in his Shop no matter how long he looked. Reading the description, he found out that Magical Beasts would have an innate fear towards Zasho, which was nice. This distraction might cause them to not perform to the best of their abilities which would lead to their death, as in high Level fights, even a slight delay would cause the battle's end.

<Peak Regeneration>

The Skill's effects are in the name. Link saw Zasho regenerate a whole lost limb after a few tests, which did not chip away from his Mana at all.

<Frost Blades>

This Skill created a wave of light blue swords that could easily penetrate and effect Zasho's enemies.

Then last but not least.. <Split>

This was a Skill that even Link envied. He found it in his Shop, but the requirements for it were having two heads at the very least. It allowed one to have two separate consciousnesses, in which Zasho now had. He could easily have a head focus on battles while the other takes care of Skill usage and whatnot.

Link smiled at the giant Wolf that even the Demon Knight couldn't help but peek at once in a while and show some signs of fear. "I wonder what his limits are?" Link wondered.

"Alright!" The team nodded to each other as they stood up and took a different formation than their used to. Marzia was now at the very back, with Noah and Ariel in front of her. Noah was a bit ahead though, as if he was ready to move at any moment. Ganthor, Helga and Jhuler were advancing towards the Demon Knight, holding their weapons with determined expressions.

WOSH!

They each moved swiftly. Ganthor and Jhuler each went right and left while Helga was stuck in the middle. They ran towards their target as they chanted spells and/or pulled something out of their Storage Rings.

ROAR!

The Demon Knight roared loudly, making their ears ring as their vision blurred. But as if they were expecting this, it did not hinder them one bit.

BAM!

The first to strike was Helga, countering The Knight's swings as she threw some of her own. Although it appeared like they were evenly matched, Helga could feel her arm becoming numb with each strike as the Demon Knight overpowered her in strength. But her dire situation did not last long.

BOOM!

An explosion engulfed both the Demon Knight and Helga. After a second, Helga could be seen jumping out of the fire from the back, taking a defensive position.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

More and more explosions shook the land, with Noah and Ariel sending their projectiles towards the spot they last Marked the Demon Knight.

BOOOM!

The attacks never ceased, as the land slowly started to create a large crater. Jhuler and Ganthor each kept an eye on an area. They were making sure that the Demon Knight did not sneak away as they wasted their Bombs for nothing.

As time went by, they slowly eased up on the attacks, waiting for the area to clear up. Dust and smoke was easily carried away by the wind, making their hearts beat faster in their chests.

In the middle of the crater, a figure was huddled up, covered in black and charred fur. Noticing the end of the attack, the Demon Knight slowly lifted his head, looking around with blood red eyes as he was consumed with rage.

"You. Are. All. Dead!" It spoke with a deep voice, looking at them menacingly.

Link did not fead Zasho the Void Worm itself as it escaped, but the bodies of its children as he kept them in his Inventory at the time before leaving.
