Setting the Stage

Ming Estate

The workers of the Ming Estate was in a joyous mood because of the wedding, they were busy prepping the house for family guest. Nanny Rong, was up since early instructing the chefs to prepare all of Ming Na's favorite dishes. While she was busy telling the pastry chef about how to make Ming Na's favorite cheesecake, she heard a commotion coming from the living room. Going to see what had caught the attention of the workers for them to stop their duties, she walked in ready to scold them only to stop off guard.

Ming Na walked into the house with her head down wearing her wedding gown and a had an air of sadness. Nanny Rong shocked to see the young miss here and not at her wedding had her feeling anxious at what could have happened at the hotel.

"Young miss, why are you here?" Nanny Rong asked with a voice full of worry.

Ming Na lifted her face and showed the employees of the estate her tear-stained face full of sadness. She wasn't crying hard so her face only showed slow tears coming down her cheeks and slightly red eyes that made her look very pitiful. Nanny Rong has worked for the Ming family for thirty years and since Ming Na was born she has never shown such raw emotions.

Wanting to help Ming Na, Nanny Rong tried to lead her over to the sofa and was going to have someone bring her a cup of tea but was stopped. Ming Na gave her a small sad smile, shook her head and made her way upstairs avoiding the looks of the confused employees.

Nanny Rong was going to follow her but was stopped by a young maid who was holding her phone.

"Head Rong, I think you should look at this." The young maid said passing her phone for Nanny Rong to see.

Nanny Rong was about to tell the young lady off but paused when she saw the headline on the online article. Taking the phone and scrolling through the article Nanny Rong couldn't believe what she was seeing. Looking at the staircase where Ming Na disappeared from, she could only frown from the sadness that Ming Na was currently feeling about the events of today.

She saw that other employees were checking their phones and decided the best thing was to send them away for the day. Working for this family for so long she knew that something big would happen and having many witnesses would not be for the best of the Ming family.

Upstairs, Ming Na kept her sad and pitiful face until she closed the door of her room, once inside she broke out into a bright smile. Going to her closet she pulled out some comfortable clothes and laid on her bed and waited for the last part of today's performance to start.

Since leaving the wedding she already planned for the rest of Ming Zhu's downfall and sent a special present to a very important guest of the Ming family. There is no doubt in her mind that because of her little performance downstairs she already got many of the employees' sympathies, and made them look at Ming Zhu in a different light.

To pass her time Ming Na was on her phone looking at the information about the sweet's company that was left to her. To change her fate it needed to start with taking back everything that belonged to her and make her name known to the world. After twenty minutes of looking on her phone, she heard a knock on her door, which made her throw phone under her pillow and put on a sad face.

Giving her permission she saw Nanny Rong enter with a cup of tea and a frown on her face. Getting out of bed she walked over to the small table and gave Nanny Rong a small smile.

"You didn't have to bring me tea, but thank you."

"Nonsense! Dear child, I know what happens and I just wanted to see how you are doing."

"Honestly? I'm sad but also grateful, whoever showed me the truth save me from future heartache."

Nanny Rong heart became heavy when she saw Ming Na putting on a brave smile, but she knew that was hurt deeply by this betrayal. Liu Kang and the young miss grew up together and she witnesses how Ming Na feel in love with Liu Kang. When she heard that they would soon be married, she believed that the two would live a happy life. Now that she learned that she was betrayed not only by her childhood sweetheart but even her younger cousin, she couldn't fathom how sad Ming Na was feeling.

"Nanny Rong, I'm fine, truly. I just want to be alone." Ming Na said in a small voice hoping that she would leave.

Nanny Rong wanted to say some more words but was stopped when she heard a voice yelling downstairs. Excusing herself, she left the young miss to see who was making an even bigger fuss today.
