149 CH18 (148), Second Day
It was 7:50 a.m and I was currently waiting in front of the training center. I was not alone, since roughly 80% of my classmates were already there.
They were talking with each other but no one was approaching me for now, but that would probably change once they got used to our height difference. As for my fellow big guy, he was not here yet.
Since we were going to check our physical fitness today I decided to check my status to pass the time.

Looking at my status screen the first half had remained mostly the same. Well, except for my age turning 8, the addition of my official registration aura-wise, my bonds, and my Pokemon list being updated.
Huh, looks like it did change quite a bit after all. Anyway, the big changes happened to the second half. Most of my occupations got upgraded with Psychic and Aura User being the most important among them.
Obviously, my breakthrough to Tier 2 in those two occupations had a corresponding effect on my stats as well. If I had to compare them to those of a Pokemon I would roughly place my Physique barely at the (high) silver stage.
My Mind would be likewise barely at the (high) silver stage as well, while my Soul should be around the (mid) silver stage. Increasing that one was extra hard for me and the only reason it increased at all was through the passive boosts it got through the growth of my other aspects.
This was why it was slowly being left behind by the other two since I could actively increase those. I was still overall ahead of everyone else at my Tier so I was content for now.
Reaching Tier 2 as well as raising it brought a multitude of new abilities and upgraded old ones. On the psychic front, I received another minor computing boost speeding up my thought processes.
I unlocked a passive psychic sense that allowed me to sense all minds in a 1-meter radius and upon reaching second-class as a Tier 2 psychic I unlocked parallel thinking, bestowing me another thought stream.
Thanks to that I could not only train in psionic energy and aura at the same time, but I could also use their abilities simultaneously. I also knew that I was going to unlock short-range teleportation once I reached First-class of Tier 2.
On the aura front, I also received another minor body boost increasing my physical strength/fitness a bit more. My regeneration got upgraded, so that it does not only heal fatigue but also minor wounds, and I unlocked a minor aura sense that allowed me to sense all life in a 1-meter radius.
That one was pretty overwhelming at first until I learned to tune out most "unnecessary" life. I mean detecting each blade of grass and each small being was frankly unnecessary so I set the minimum to regular animal levels of life.
Ability-wise, I also unlocked 2 new ones. I got a minor calming aura upon breakthrough and unlocked minor external aura manipulation after reaching Second-class of Tier 2.
The first one was obvious, and the second one currently allowed me to cloak my body parts in aura boosting my defense and offense. I was about to go over my techniques, but Mr. Burns turned up so I stopped.
Furthermore, he was not alone. Two others were at his side, a woman and a man. Mr. Burns looked around and nodded.
"Good everyone is here." He said in satisfaction before he pointed at the two adults beside him. "These two are Ms. Barn and Mr. Clean. They are going to help me with measuring and recording your details.
Now, let's get inside. You can find the locker rooms to the right. There are signs on the walls, so follow them. After you've changed, follow the signs to the measuring room. We'll be waiting there for you." He said and opened the door to the training center.
The boys and girls went to their respective changing rooms and everyone quickly changed before moving towards the measuring room. About 5 minutes later everyone was there and Mr. Burns told us to form a line.
Then one by one everyone got his/her height as well as weight checked and documented. My height came in at 174.5 cm and my weight was 70 kg. While that was still 10 kg over the average that was purely due to my muscles.
I even lifted my shirt, presenting my 8 pack, just to show Mr. Burns that I was telling the truth. I didn't want to be listed as overweight after all. I may have overreacted, but I didn't want any misunderstandings due to some technicality.
After that multiple things got tested like heart, lungs, abdomen, ears, nose, eyes, and throat. They even evaluate our posture, joints, strength, speed, and flexibility.
Forget about the academy, it felt more as if I was going through a hospital check. The only part I had expected were the strength, speed, and flexibility test.
I obviously passed all tests without any problems, while I used the strength, and speed I had 4 years ago at Tier 1, just a bit elevated to adjust for the physique difference.
I also noticed that Sorrel and I were the only ones that were told to repeat the second part of the tests using aura. I used the results of 4 years ago as a basis for this one as well.
For strength, I showed 600 kg unboosted and 1080 kg boosted by aura. For speed, they tested the highest speed and the comfortable high speed.
I showed a max speed of 100 km/h unboosted and 180 km/h boosted. While my comfortable high speed was 50 km/h and 90 km/h respectively. Mr. Burns seemed to be satisfied and happy with the results even if they were nowhere near my actual ability.
I had found out 2.5 years ago that my status screen had the function to record and show those parameters as well on a second page, if I enabled it, which I obviously did.

Yeah, my height and weight were obviously the same, but everything else was vastly different, nearly 50-100% higher. Still, that difference was smaller compared to my aura-boosted state.
Some of the values shown were a bit vague because they were estimates based on actual values. I had no time or need to walk 24 hours or more at once, after all. Due to the progress, I made the boost increased by quite a bit, which made testing those more time-consuming.
Still, my progress with my psychic and aura abilities was visible on the third and fourth pages respectively. I had to enable that one too.

It was pretty useful since it kept track of my performance for me. As long as I surpass one of those values it got automatically updated, which was helpful in case I achieved it in an uncontrolled environment.

Anyway, once everyone was done with the slew of tests Ms. Barn as well as Mr. Clean left and we made our way to the administration building for the second half of our books.
After that, Mr. Burns dismissed everyone but kept me and Sorrel back. He led us to a vacant room in the building and motioned us to take a seat before he addressed us both.
"I kept the two of you back for two reasons. The first one is the partner, the academy is going to assign you. You should already know this, but if you don't, then the academy is going to give you a choice between Ralts, Tyrogue, Mienfoo, Buneary, and Clauncher.
If you tell me the species you want to choose from now, then you can do the actual choosing tomorrow. Nonetheless, you do not have to answer right now. It is an important decision, after all. The actual time limit is set until Arcday next week.
Do you need some time to consider the choices, or have you already made a decision?" He began telling us why he held us back, before asking us that question.
"I have known about it beforehand and already decided to choose Buneary." Sorrel directly gave his answer and Mr. Burns nodded before making a note on his phone.
He then turned to me, waiting for an answer that never came. Just kidding, I had made my decision a long time ago after all.
"I knew about it beforehand as well, and I want a Ralts," I told him concisely and he made another note on his phone.
"Alright, I'll lead you to the place from which you shall choose your partner shortly before the first lesson. You are freed from your lessons until you have made your choice, so there is no need to rush your selection.
With that out of the way, let's address the second reason I held you back. According to the result shown on the tests we just had, the two of you are being promoted to the second year. At least for your aura classes. You will remain part of class S1-A for your regular lessons.
You shall participate in the aura lessons of class S2-A for 3 months. If it turns out that you are still too advanced for those lessons as well, then the teachers will perform a final test which shall decide whether you get promoted to the third year or not.
Do you accept those conditions, or would you like to keep participating in the aura lessons of your class? Normally, I would have involved your parents as well, but both pairs elected to leave all choices pertaining to your education to you when they signed you up. Why they would do that Arceus knows." He told us with a serious face while mumbling the last bit.
"I would honestly recommend the first option, but the choice is ultimately yours. You still have the choice to return to your regular schedule if you feel as if the advanced ones are too much." He added before just looking at us waiting for an answer.
It was honestly a no-brainer for me so I immediately agreed, and Sorrel quickly made the same choice. Hearing our answers Mr. Burns nodded and told us that we should receive our adjusted schedule by tonight.
He then led us back to the issue desk and we returned the first-year books for the aura lessons we received and received the second-year ones instead.
After that, he told us to be in front of our classroom at 7:45 a.m before he dismissed us. Happy with how things went down I returned home, excited about the Ralts I was going to choose. I was obviously hoping the choices would be good but as long as the selection was not bad I could live with it.
