148 CH17 (147), First Day
Before I knew the week was over and the first day of my first academic year had arrived. Thanks to an instruction I had received per mail and post, I knew where my class was and how to reach it as well. Surprisingly, I was told to bring along sportswear on the second day.
The reason why I was able to receive the post from the Academy in the first place was, that I had noticed that we forgot to inform the academy about my new address when we went there to register my Pokemon. So, I revisited the administration office the next day and rectified that.
Anyway, the building I was currently in was the one for regular studies. I followed the instructions to what I assumed was my new classroom. Once there, I entered and took a look around the room.
Only a bit more than half the seats were filled, and the teacher was not there yet, but since there were still 15 minutes that was pretty normal. There were 5 rows and each row had 4 one-person desks, so I assumed that my class had 20 students.
At the front were the teacher's desk and a whiteboard, the kind for removable marker pens. I chose a free desk in the second row and sat down. During the next 15 minutes, the rest of the students began trickling in.
As for the teacher, he came 5 minutes before the start of class. As soon as he entered, he did a count of the students already there and seemed to add 1 whenever a new one arrived.
He stopped and nodded after another student arrived 1 minute before 8 a.m. Probably because that was the last one. Exactly at 8 a.m, the bell rang and the teacher stood up.
"Hello, everyone. I am your homeroom teacher and you can call me Mr. Burns." He said before turning around and writing his name on the whiteboard.
"Our class is labeled as S1-A and has 20 students. Now, I can tell you in advance that there won't be any lessons for today and tomorrow. We'll only do 3 things during these 2 days.
The first is an introduction round, after that, I will guide you to each of your classrooms once. You are responsible for being punctual to your lessons afterward, and the excuse "I couldn't find the classroom" is not acceptable.
After that, we will return to our homeroom and I will be going over the Academy rules with you once. Likewise, afterward the excuse "I didn't know that we were not allowed to do that" is not acceptable as well.
Finally, we'll visit the administration building. There everyone will receive the first half of your course books so that you can carry them home. Please, check your post and your mail since your lesson plan should arrive sometime today.
Tomorrow, we will be at the training center and check your physical fitness. Afterward, we will be visiting the administration building once more for the second half of your books.
I am warning you that these books are only being loaned to you, so try to keep them clean and intact. If you don't you may/will have to pay for them.
Alright, with all that out of the way, let's start with the introductions. I'd like to hear your name, surname, age, hometown, and something you like to do in your free time, like a hobby or something.
Let's start from the last row." He continued his greetings speech before he pointed at the kid that sat on the far right in the last row. Everyone turned in that direction and the boy in question stood up under everyone's stares.
"H...Hi, everyone." He stuttered a bit out of nervousness at the start.
"My name is Henry Morn, and I'm 8 years old. I'm from Serene Town here in Rota and I like, Ummm, observing the Pidgey around our house." Henry finished his introduction before sitting down with a plop.
Mr. Burns nodded after Henry sat down.
"That was a good one. The last bit could have been a bit longer, but good nonetheless. Alright, next one." He said pointing to the girl sitting beside Henry.
The girl in question stood up and gave a cheery wave before she began talking.
"Hi. My name is Marlene Bright, and I'm 9 years old. I'm from Bright Village in Kanto. It's called like that because my great-grandpa founded the village. I like playing with Goofy, my Lillipup, the other Lillipup, and Mareep around our house." She said before she sat down, and after her, the others stood up one by one to introduced themselves as well until it was my turn.
The ratio of males to females in my class was pretty even with 12 boys and 8 girls. Of the 14 kids that had introduced them before me, 6 were 9-years old. That was because they started elementary at 6 instead of 5.
Anyway, like everyone else before me, I stood up too and began my "awesome" introduction.
"Hello, everyone. My name is Mikail Geo, and I'm 8 years old. I'm from Hope Town in Kanto. I like exploring and Pokemon." I finished my small intro and sat down.
"Alright, I can see that many of you have some questions regarding the height of two of your classmates. So, let me address that in their stead. They might feel self-conscious if you start pressing them for answers and we wouldn't want that after all." Mr. Burns spoke up after I sat down and had that not been a surprise for me to see someone else as tall as me.
I had expected to be the only one towering over everyone else, but one of the students that came after me was just as large as me.
"You should have learned about the maturity phases during elementary school." Mr. Burns began and everyone nodded. "Well, after someone reaches Tier 1 and accumulates enough aura while they are young, it is possible to trigger an early maturity." He explained and everyone listened attentively.
"The same happened to your classmates. They reached Tier 1 and accumulated enough aura to trigger an early second maturity, so when the time for the regular second maturity came, they had their third maturity instead. Any questions?" Mr. Burns finished explaining why we looked 16/17 instead of 10/11.
Most shook their head, but one girl, Danielle was her name if I was not wrong, raised her hand and Mr. Burns motioned her to speak.
"Mr. Burns, can you tell us if this early maturity can happen at any time, or if there is a limit besides the Tier 1 and aura condition?" She asked and Mr. Burns smiled after hearing her question.
"That's a good question, Danielle. Yes, there is another condition for early maturity. It can only happen before the third maturity and it can also only happen once. So, the time limit for early maturity is around the age of 13. Any other questions?" He answered happily.
This time no one put up their hand, so we continued with the introductions. The other big guy sat at the opposite end of the first row, so the other 3 did their introductions before it was finally his turn.
"Hello everyone. My name is Sorrel Sidkara, and I'm 9 years old. I'm from Veilstone City in Sinnoh. I like reading books, especially ones about legends and myths. I also enjoy spending time with my family's Luxray as well as Hope, my Shinx." Sorrel introduced himself before returning to his seat.
Sorrel looked to be roughly 170 cm tall. He looked rather thin, at least thinner than I would have expected from someone at Tier 1 with a lot of aura. He also had fair skin, gray eyes, and mid-length green hair with bangs.
"Alright. Now, that everyone has introduced themselves, I'll show you where the classrooms you need to visit are. However, before that let me tell you that Homeroom, Math, Language, History, and Ethics lessons are going to happen here in this classroom." He said while sweeping a look around the class before nodding.
"Now, please follow me." He instructed before he left the room.
He led us to 6 rooms in the regular studies building. One each for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Music, and Art, while Geography and Material Science seemed to happen in the same classroom.
After that, he led us over to the other building and showed us 3 rooms. One was for Pokemon Knowledge lessons, while the other two were for aura lessons.
We left the aura studies building as well and Mr. Burns showed us where the gyms, the pools, as well as the training center, were. Afterward, we returned to our classroom and he began going over the school rules with us, like no unsupervised battles, no theft, no bullying, and so on.
Once he was done, he gave everyone a paper with all rules printed on its two sides before leading us to the administration building for the first half of our books.
I obviously put mine inside my bag of holding, but I noticed that not everyone had one. So, it made sense that they were not handing out all the books at once since their weight would be too much.
"Alright. Now, that you have your books we are done for the day. Please be punctual tomorrow. We'll be meeting in front of the training center at 8 a.m." Mr. Burns said before sending us home.
Once I came home, I first entered Utopia to spend 30 minutes with my water types since I couldn't call them outside. After that, I called out everyone except for the water types.
We ate lunch together before I decided to do some sparring with Tyson, so we went to the garden. Tyson had really shown some good progress since I first saw him. I can vividly remember his status at the time.

Once we were at our designated sparring area I told him that it was going to be physical-only sparring and he nodded excitedly. Luna gave the starting signal and Machoke rushed towards me.
I put up my guard and dodged Tyson's first punch by tilting my head to the side. I wanted to deliver a counter-attack but was forced to abort that idea when I had to duck to dodge Tyson's continued offensive.
He turned his failed punch into a clutching/squeezing motion using the return motion of his arm. Since there was not much I could do offensively because of the sudden lowering of my body I turned the ongoing motion into a side roll.
Without even trying to fully stand up I did a leg sweep, but Tyson dodged the sweep by jumping. However, that was part of the plan since it allowed me to stand up without getting a kick in the face.
I rushed at Tyson who just landed back on the ground and used the fact that he was still a bit unbalanced to deliver a few hits at his right side. He put up a defense against my moves and I used his focus on the right side to deliver a low-kick against the back of his left knee, which made him buckle.
I used that moment to deliver an uppercut to his chin that made his head snap back. Tyson did a wild sweep in a hurry to force me to dodge in case I wanted to follow up on my uppercut, but I dodged below and pulled out his legs below him. He fell down and I retreated.
"First point to me." I declared since he was fully laying on the ground. He just grunted in annoyance before he stood back up. He shook his head a bit before he declared that he was ready for round 2.
We did 3 more rounds before we stopped and the sparring ended in a draw. After that I had everyone do some training for around 2 hours under gravity before we just relaxed until it was time for me to sleep.
I also checked the lesson plan they sent over and it looked okay. The longest day was Giratiday and that was only till 3 p.m.
