Chapter 98: Morgans

Byakuya pondered his plan and suddenly asked, "Lucci, do you know Morgans?"

"Morgans?" Lucci thought momentarily and said, "Byakuya-sama, are you referring to the president of the World Economic News?"

"Yes, that's him. Do you know where he lives?"

Lucci was part of an intelligence organization and knowledgeable in gathering information, but he didn't know Morgans' location. 

Morgans was not only the president of the World Economic News but also a leader in the underworld. 

Someone like him, who thrived in the shadows, had countless enemies. If people knew where he lived, he'd be under constant threat of attack.

Lucci replied, "I don't know where Morgans is, but I might be able to find him."

Byakuya's eyes lit up. He hadn't expected Lucci to have such an ability. 

Lucci explained, "Morgans is a Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Albatross user, and he controls the News Coo that delivers newspapers across the seas." 

"I have a pigeon I've raised since childhood. I can communicate with it telepathically, and perhaps it can get information from the News Coo about Morgans."

An ordinary person would not think of using a bird to ask other birds. But in the magical world of One Piece, it seemed quite feasible. 

Lucci whistled by the window, and soon, they heard the cooing of a pigeon. A white pigeon wearing a tiny black tie landed on Lucci's shoulder.

Byakuya watched as Lucci and the pigeon seemed to communicate silently, marveling at the talent within his ranks. 

Lucci soon turned to Byakuya, saying, "Byakuya-sama, I've instructed Hattori (the pigeon) to ask the News Coo. Do you have any other orders?"

Byakuya thought for a moment. Morgans appeared only briefly in the anime during Big Mom's tea party. 

However, from what he observed, Morgans seemed to live for big news stories. 

He even risked his life documenting events during Big Mom's hunger pangs.

Byakuya considered this and said, "Tell Hattori to inform the News Coo that we have big news that we can share with Morgans." 

"But we need to meet him first. He can choose the location, but the meeting should be within a week."

Lucci didn't know Byakuya's next step, but he understood that contacting Morgans meant Byakuya was planning something big. 

The seas might soon be in turmoil. Three days later, Lucci approached Byakuya. "Byakuya-sama, we've received a message from Morgans."

Byakuya was surprised. "So soon? What did he say?"

"He wants to meet in two days on Gyaoan Island, near Water 7. He also said that our group should not exceed three people." 

"If more than three come, the meeting will be canceled."

"Three people, huh? Morgans is cautious, worried it might be a trap," Byakuya said thoughtfully. 

"Morgans is setting the meeting near Water 7. Does that mean he knows we're in Water 7?"

"He probably does. Morgans should know each News Coo's designated area, but he likely isn't sure of our exact location or identities." 

Byakuya laughed. "It seems that none of the underworld leaders are to be underestimated."

"We'll go, just the three of us: you, me, and Blueno," he added.

The two days passed quickly, and the trio set off towards Gyaoan Island. Byakuya decided not to reveal his true identity during this meeting. 

Instead, he would appear as the leader of the 'Night' organization. 

To maintain his cover, he even left behind his signature weapon, Fumihime, with Kalifa. 

He avoided giving it to Tashigi or Ain, as he didn't want to reveal his identity to them too soon. The less they knew, the safer they would be.

The three donned black crescent moon robes covering their entire bodies. 

Lucci wore a pigeon mask, while Blueno wore a minotaur mask, which always made Byakuya want to laugh. 

Byakuya's pure black mask, paired with his all-black attire, made him appear even more mysterious.

On Gyaoan Island, Morgans paced along the shore, muttering to himself with his beak, "What kind of big news could it be?" 

"Why aren't they here yet? This is driving me crazy." 

Scanning the surroundings warily, his assistant asked anxiously, "Boss, do you think this could be a trap? I think we should have our men hiding nearby come closer."

Morgans waved off the concern. "Even if it's a trap, so what? If this is big news, I will risk my life for it."

Just then, a soft laugh came from behind Morgans. "As expected of President Morgans. Your thirst for big news is unmatched."

Morgans and his assistant jumped at the sudden voice. Turning around, they saw three men in black robes and masks standing behind them. 

The assistant's heart raced—these three had silently bypassed their guards and appeared right before them. It was terrifying.

The feathers on Morgans' neck stood on end, not from fear but from excitement. He eagerly asked, "What is the big news you mentioned?"

Byakuya didn't beat around the bush. "It's regarding the Seven Warlords of the Sea."

"The Seven Warlords of the Sea?" Morgans felt his blood begin to boil. 

The Seven Warlords were one of the three great powers in the Grand Line, each a renowned pirate. 

Any news involving them would attract massive attention. 

Byakuya continued, "Our 'Night' organization plans to eliminate one of the Warlords. We need you to report the entire event truthfully." 

"If you can do this, I might seek further cooperation with you after this ends."

Hearing this, Morgans became even more excited. This was a genuinely lucrative opportunity. 

If these mysterious figures from the 'Night' organization could take down a Warlord, their name would spread throughout the seas.
