Chapter 74: A Promise made

When Kang Lei awoke he was disappointed to not find Dominic wrapped around him like a protective shield.

He smiled to himself thinking how quickly his feelings for Dominic had developed and how much he trusted him. Since being there so much has happened and in such a short space of time, he wondered if it was all a dream and he was due to wake up at any moment to return to a reality where he was being held captive by Cai Hung.

Kang Lei pinched his arm to check he wasn't really dreaming, "ouch," he winched gloating at the red mark that now appeared on his skin.

Feeling the need to be near Dominic he went about in search of the man, once he had walking out of his room he looked around puzzled he wondered why Dominic would have such a place. This was the first time he had decided to venture out of his room, so he wasn't familiar with his surroundings as he walked along the corridor not knowing where to go he made a guessed decision taking a right turn and immediately collided with an unknown male, Kang Lei's heart jumped fear taking over his body flashbacks of the pass weeks running through this mind telling him he was in danger his body to froze shaking in fear. "Mistress are you okay, are you looking for Alpha 1" the young Alpha male asked after bowing his head politely, Kang Lei looked at him strangely "Al- Alpha 1 who's that? Where's Dominic?" He finally managed to muster still shaking. "Alpha 1 has been in his office since the early hours this morning, would you like me to take you there"

"Dominic, I said I wanted Dominic I don't to want see whoever you a call Alpha 1" Kang Lei bravely scolded the poor man, "hehe, yes mistress that's of whom I speak, however I'm not of rank to address our Captain so informally in any situation, now shall I take you too him?" He asked after giving Kang Lei a respectable smile an gesturing too his right.

Kang Lei hesitated before nodding his head and following after the young man, as Kang Lei wasn't familiar with Dominic's underground base he looked around curiously at every markings and furnishings, the base was set up per a typical army style not a hint of homeliness. Finally they had reached Dominic's office "mistress Alpha 1 is inside" the young male pointed to Dominic inside his glasses designed office. Kang Lei checked to see if it was indeed his Dominic before bowing his head as thank you, "oh by the way why does everyone keep calling me Mistress" Kang Lei abruptly asked as the male was about to leave, a light chuckle came from the young man who looked at Dominic and said "These are the orders of Alpha 1, he said and I quote ahem... 'the omega I brought back is my future wife, from now you must all address him as Mistress and the young boy as Young Master Lanxian'.. so you see as his subordinate I'm obliged to follow my Captians orders Mistress".

"Oh" Kang Lei replied red faced and embarrassed, after the young man had gone Kang Lei looked at Dominic curious wondering who he really was.

He finally knocked Dominic's office door and waited for that sweet gently responses to be return, but instead he got a harsh and cold "come in" from Dominic which startled him, as he walked him Dominic who was fully focused on his computer and hadn't realised Kang Lei had entered. "Am busy what is it" again another cold and indifferent attitude came from Dominic, Kang Lei was puzzeled he had never seen this side of Dominic before, he thought may be he was hallucinating and the man before him was someone else that looked like Dominic.

"Ah Do—minic" he voiced warily not wanting to anger the person before him even more, when Dominic heard Kang Lei's voice his whole demeanour changed "oh honey," he said warmly but startled quickly shutting his computer and hiding away his papers, but unfortunately Kang Lei had caught sigh of an image that showed one of his attackers, "what are you doing, Dominic" he asked suspiciously, "oh nothing honey just sorting out some stuff.... so what did my love come to see me for?" Dominic answered awkwardly arousing Kang Lei's suspicions even further, "Dominic don't lie to me I saw the picture of one the men who..who... why do you have his picture?... do you know him?.... his he your friend?... what? are you going to sell me to him once you're done with me?" kang Lei started to shake, he knew this was all too good to be true and furthermore no one falls in love so easily or so quickly, Kang Lei shook his head erratically tears falling unwilling, without giving Dominic a chance to explain Kang Lei ran from Dominic's office fear and anger exploding through his body he didn't want to go through that again he couldn't.

Kang Lei ran as fast as he but he could still could hear the voice of Dominic shouting his name as fled "kang Lei honey, it's not want you think" Dominic shouted chasing after a scared Kang Lei.

Kang lei rang straight into the control room of Dominic's base, as he burst through the doors a sea of male eyes landed on him, all the men stood up at once to salute him, "Mistress!" They all shouted together before taking a bow, Kang Lei looked terrified at their faces his body unable to move.

"Alpha 1!" The men suddenly saluted before Kang Lei turned to see Dominic standing right behind him with a concerned look on his face, "stand down" he said to his men who all bowed respectfully and returned to their duties unconcerned to what was happening with the two. "Sweetie let's go somewhere and talk in private shall we" he as lovingly to Kang Lei while taking his hand and leading him out the room.

Dominic brought Kang Lei back to his office and had him sit down before giving him some water.

Kang Lei stared at him petrified, he didn't want to say something and anger Dominic in anyway causing more trouble for him and BoJing.

Dominic sat in front of Kang Lei and gently took his hands into his own "honey don't be scared, didn't I say I would protect you and BoJing?" Dominic was gently his hazel eyes light and clear pulling Kang Lei in, kang Lei averted his gaze and pulled his hands away from Dominic, "how can I not be scared, like really who are you and what's this place? who are those men outside? aren't you supposed to be a business man why does this place look like some secret hideout, what are you planning for me and BoJing and where's BoJing why haven't I seen him?" Kang Lei spoke in hurried breaths, his heart racing less out of fear and more for the fact that Dominic was so close to him an his pheromones was seductively turning him on.

Dominic sighed lightly and decided to tell Kang Lei everything, "Okay since my beloved asked am more than willing to answer. Now as you know and so do many others am Dominic Lanxian, CEO of Edyn industries and telecommunications company, am well know by name in the corporate world, am rich and have quite a bit of power in the business world, extra, extra am sure you already know most things from the media. However, I am also know as the army's first General Captain Alpha 1, my primary task are to assassinate and disband political parties or carry out undercover missions to rescue high profile captured officials, my men outside are the most elites of the army and highly specialised. This as you mentioned this is our base unknown to the government or the army, at the moment we're all here because I may have caused a bit of trouble so I have the men settled here for the time being. And before you ask yes I have killed people and I have no intention of hurting you or BoJing first off my parents would most definitely not make that happen....So did I answer all your questions my love" Dominic responded looking Kang Lei right in the eyes, kang Lei was dumbfounded and strangely turned on, but he was still confused as to why Dominic had his attackers picture, "so what of the pictures why do you have that assholes picture".

"What do you think honey, I just told you I kill people in my spare time and he dared to hurt the man I love, so what do you think am going to do him shake his hand?" Dominic said with an unamused look.

"You're going to kill him?" Kang Lei asked shocked.

"Yes!"

"No what about going to the police, please I don't want you hurting anyone for me",

Dominic scoffed "tsk, The police, what do you think they'll do when they hear that a high official who raped and beat an omega, honey for you and my family I'll destroy the entire world if it dared to harm you, but if you want him to remain free to sleep soundly at night than I'll do as you ask". Dominic said genuinely.

Kang Lei was quiet for sometime, what Dominic said was true, often such crimes are overlooked and discounted due to an omega being involved, but he didn't want Dominic to get hurt or things to become difficult for him if he did such a thing.

"It's okay please don't do anything" he said sadly, Dominic gave him a warm smile and accepted his decision "okay if thats what you want I promise that I will not kill them" Dominic promised placing a kiss on Kang Lei's forehead.

"Why don't we get BoJing an go have breakfast, we have to leave soon remember" Dominic said getting up to clear his desk, "leave? where we going?" Kang Lei asked "remember we're taking BoJing to stay with his grandparents while you remover, and to keep me from visiting Buddha too early" Dominic said the last sentence under his breath thinking of his mother's warning.

As he packed away the files on his desk, Dominic looked at the screen of his laptop and a smirked rose to his face, on the screen there was a live video feed of Cai Hung screaming at the cameras for help as yet another round of men made their way into his cell. Dominic softly closed the screen and turned to Kang Lei with a inncent smile and said "love let's go" as he took hold of Kang Lei hand.
