I sigh as I sit up in my bed. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I go to check my phone.

T a e h y u n g.

The guys and I had just gotten home. Practice today was brutal, like usual, but it will pay off in the end. I slump down on the couch, head resting on the back cushion.

"It's 9:17," Jimin says as he moves to sit beside me. I squint on eye open to look at him.

"I know," I pouted slightly, not trying to seem too down.

"You can still text her," He offers, resting his hand on my shoulder.

"She's probably at work already, I don't want to bother her."

"You don't know if she's there now. She might still be home," He offers. "Just text her."

I slowly get up and make my way to my room, wanting to take a shower before I do anything else.

Incoming call from Meliora

[accept] [decline]

Huh? Why is she calling me?

"Tae..." She said, voice soft yet raspy from misuse.

"Yes?"

"Promise me you won't let it go too far. That you won't push yourself too much..." She was stern and delicate at the same time.

"It's not up to me but... I will try." There was a slight pause after this, both of us not knowing what to say. "Liora, shouldn't you be at work by now...?" I hesitantly ask, hoping I didn't hold her too long.

"I'm in the car now, but that's not important right now... Hold on, let me—connect my phone," The sound cut off for a moment, but quickly came back. "Okay, can you hear me?" She asks, almost yelling into her phone.

I chuckle, "Yes Liora, I can hear you just fine."

She laughs, and its the best sound you could ever hear. "Okay! I've never connected my phone to my car like this before. I wasn't sure it would work." She spoke at normal volume.

"You know..." I drag out, "It would be easier if we had each other's phone numbers."

"That's very true," She softly chuckled. "Tae Tae..." She started.

"Hm?"

She suddenly turns serious, "How long has it been like this? The practicing, I mean."

"It's always been like this. Honestly, you don't have to worry." I tried to keep my voice light, to convince her more but she wasn't having it.

"No... You're practicing for what—twelve hours a day. And you're telling me not to be worried about your health? I know we've only known each other for a short time but I will not just stand idly by while my friend is on the road to sickness!" I could tell she felt strongly about this, and that she wouldn't be able to brush it off.

"I-"

She takes a deep breath and continues, "I'm sorry for cutting you off and acting crazy but I can't not worry. I just can't..." She sounded a little sad at the end like she dealt with this before.

"Liora... I quite enjoy you being worried about me," I say trying to lighten the mood. "But I promise to try. I don't just work by myself, I have a team as well and my managers who create the scheduling... I can't just not work, I-I have to work hard for them."

She sighs, "I-I understand. I really do but please just keep in mind about your health, as well as the others. Overworking can lead to less performance quality, which in turn will just harm everything you're working towards in the first place..."

"You kinda sound like my grandma," I said smiling.

"Is that a compliment...?"

"Yes, of course! My grandma is--she was amazing. She always had good advice."

"Oh, thank you then," She laughs slightly. "Damn, we've talked for so long!"

"Really?!" I checked the time, 10:03. "Wow~ How come I always lose track of time when we talk?"

"That's because you like talking to me," She teases.

"Of course, why wouldn't I?" I smile. "Well, I'll let you go... I don't want you to be late for work."

"Oh I already am," She laughs. "But it's okay, we always start off slow on Saturdays."

"I'm sorry, Liora," I apologize.

"It's alright Tae Tae. Goodnight! Talk tomorrow?"

"Well we don't want to end our streak, do we?" I said playfully.

She just laughs and says, "Oh of course not!"

I smile before hanging up. This girl... She really takes my breath away.
