Chapter One Hundred and Sixty Four

Max POV

Things are now going smoothly between Ella and I, though we are not yet to that stage where we will be dating but am grateful for what is going on so far. When I said things are going smoothly I mean that Ella is no longer at me and she stop giving those look that are filled with disgust like am the most irritating human being on earth. Ella called me and informed me that her father invited us to a party this weekend, both George and Sarah are invited as well. I guess it must be a very important party for him to invite me, Sarah and George to the party.

After the call ended I quickly walked to my closet to look for the outfit I will wear to the party, I know the party is three days from now but I have to be well prepared. I go through my closet but am not satisfied with what am seeing, I don't see any of them befitting to what I want to wear to the party. I walked out of the closet, picked my car key and left my house headed to George house cause I need his help with what am going to wear.

I arrived at George house and type in his password, I don't see any need for me to knock cause I think our many years of friendship have suppressed all those formalities. I walked inside his house and George is coming out of the shower, I guess it's not long he came back from work. What's up man,what's with unexpected visit and that worried look on your face? He asked looking at me. I can't find the perfect outfit for the party, I answered his question looking so downcasted. What party are you talking about that am not aware of? George asked looking totally confused.

Wait don't tell me that Sarah did not invite you to the party that is been hosted by Ella father at his mansion, I inquired from him looking at him with wide eyes. Oh is that the party you are talking about, George uttered nonchalantly. Yes that is the party am talking about, I replied him sarcastically, but he ignored me and continued smiling at me like I did not say anything a while ago. That infuriates me cause I don't like this nonchalant attitude of his but I forced myself to calm down cause I still need his help. I don't know why you are not taking this serious but it's serious to me, I told him.

I don't understand what you are doing, you are not going there to ask for his daughter hand in marriage, it is just an invitation to a party I don't think it's really necessary for you to stress yourself, George said. I know he have a point but I want to impress Ella, I want her to see my effort in trying to make her proud in front of her family member.

I know what you are thinking bro but I want you to know that am not doing this because I want to impress Mr Jerry or be on his good side, am only doing this because I want to impress Ella, I told him. George looked at me like I have gone nuts, What do you mean by impress Ella? I don't think that lady care so much about people outfit, all she is after is their behavior and if am you instead wasting my time thinking of what to wear and impress, I will rather be thinking of ways to convince her that am a change man, George advised. I know between the both of us, he is the one that is more mature we are of the same age, that's why I stick with him cause he always guide me to the right part without gloating over it.

Okay man I have heard you but am still going for to get a new outfit for this party and am doing it for myself not for anyone else, I told him. He nodded to what I and walked inside his room to get dress so that we can shop at these stores that are open twenty four seven. George come out of his room all dressed up, one of the reason I want him to accompany me to go shopping cause he is better than me when it comes to fashion, he is like my personal stylist.

For the record I agreed to go with you on this quest cause I want to buy an evening gown for Sarah, George said to me. Sarah? Are you taking Sarah to any special place? I asked him cause am confuse why he need to buy an evening gown for her. No dummy we are not going anywhere apart from the so called party and I want my woman to stand out among other women in the party, so I will be going for the best outfit in that party.

I was contemplating within myself if I should buy an evening gown for Ella, but am afraid cause we are not dating yet there are chances that she might turn it down. George do you think it's a good idea for me to buy a gown for Ella as well? I asked him. Why not you guys are friends right? I think it will be a good gesture if you buy it for her and at the same you score a good point with her, George answered.

That's what am going to do and thanks George, I thanked him. Thanks for what? He asked me. For your advice and support, I replied him. George smiled at me, that's what best friend are for my dear good friend, George replied and walked towards the lady section cause he already picked an outfit for me and I trust his judgement. George and I picked five best evening gowns for Sarah and Ella each and paid their delivery guy to deliver the clothes on Saturday morning at Sarah address.
