CHAPTER TWENTY THREE
Alec
We rush down the hallway, hunger still gnawing at my insides.
I fed off one of the Silver Hunters, but it wasn't enough. I'm going to need more blood in order to get myself under control.
"Over there!" Winter points out the window to the courtyard where Guild members, students, and Silver Hunters are engaged in battle.
Heather starts to run into the fray, but Winter stops her with a touch. "Hold on. We need a better vantage point."
She looks at me. "The roof," we say at the same time.
Without another word, the four of us take off towards the stairs. Climbing them feels like an eternity, my hunger making every second feel like an hour. My body aches with every step, but the adrenaline keeps me going.
Finally, we reach the roof, and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
